1. Initial visit and flooring selection - June 26, 2026…read more
On or about June 27, 2026, I visited O'Krent Flooring to look at flooring options for my home. I narrowed my choices down to two possibilities and checked out samples of both options so I could take them home and visualize how they would look in my space.
After considering the two samples for approximately four and a half months, I made a decision to purchase The Logo Cove .
On October 7, 2026, I returned to O'Krent Flooring with the specific sample of the flooring I had decided to purchase. I was there to buy that particular product. No alternative flooring options were discussed, and I was never told that I was purchasing a different product.
Sales representative Mike A. handled my transaction. At no point did he inform me that my selected flooring was unavailable, on back order, or subject to any ordering complications.
In fact, Mike told me that the price had increased by $3 per square foot, but that he would absorb the additional cost and honor my original price of $5.79 per square foot.
I relied on his representations and believed I was purchasing the exact flooring sample I had brought into the showroom.
What I subsequently discovered was that the paperwork had been manipulated to reflect a completely different flooring product--one I had never seen, discussed, selected, or agreed to purchase.
I paid more than $6,000 for flooring under the belief that I was receiving the product I had specifically selected. I trusted O'Krent, a well-established flooring company, to conduct business honestly and in good faith.
3. Suspicious delivery changes
Another significant concern involves the delivery arrangements.
After I had paid for the flooring, Mike changed the delivery instructions so that the flooring would be delivered to O'Krent for my contractor to pick up, rather than being delivered directly to my home as I had previously understood.
At the time, I did question this change, and notified my contractor by text. Looking back, however, I find it extremely suspicious.
I now question whether this change was intentional and designed to prevent me from seeing the actual flooring I had been sold until it had already been installed in my home.
Combined with the obvious product substitution on the paperwork specifically at least three different items numbers and the unexplained delivery change raises serious questions about the circumstances surrounding this transaction.
4. Breach of trust and financial harm
I acknowledge that, in retrospect, there were warning signs I should have questioned. However, I entered this transaction in good faith. I was trusting the salesperson to provide what I had specifically selected and paid for.
I was navigating the overwhelming and stressful process of restoring my home. I never imagined that I would have to protect myself from the possibility of being deliberately misled by the very company I'm paying 6 plus $.
I believe Mike A.'s actions warrant a thorough investigation. The circumstances appear consistent with a deliberate bait-and-switch, misrepresentation, and potentially fraudulent conduct.
5. My intention to pursue formal action
I do not consider this a simple misunderstanding or an ordinary customer service dispute.
I paid more than $6,000 believing I was purchasing one specific flooring product, only to discover that the paperwork reflected something entirely different.
I want this matter formally investigated. I intend to file a police report, provide the supporting documentation, and request that law enforcement investigate whether criminal conduct occurred and whether charges are warranted.
I trusted this company with a substantial purchase during an already vulnerable time in my life. That trust has been seriously breached.
