Ok This is going to be a long review because there is a long story behind it to understand it. Our…read morebuddy Russell a French Bechaun who is my dads adopted dog son. Which makes him my little adopted brother dog. Our nickname is the Pack especially when Russell and I go to see my dad who has been in the hospital a lot as of late with a rare pneumonia. In July Russell injured his eye and you can read that message. Here is a continuation of that. Our money situation has only gotten worse due to my dads illness which was not being treated properly until recently when the right doctors started to take the case. Because of that. I have had to have paramedics take my dad to the ER via ambulance three times in 2 months at 1,000 a trip. 5 miles is 1,000 dollars from my home to saint johns ER. in the same city of Maplewood. So we are really strapped for money because of that. And after having a sewer collapse and a home fuel oil storage tank rupturing over this last year each incident was a 10,000 bill. We are both disabled and he is 74 so he is on ssi. Needless to say having over 20,000 dollars on to large bills and then the eye injury to Russell amd them paramedics. Man its like one kick in the groin after another. Lucy do not move the ball let me kick it. Shesh Charlie brown. That is how I feel like with bad luck. These Vets have treated my little adopted dog brother amazingly. With the little money I have had after donating blood and selling things. My pack is back my friend will be able to not be put down. He will have an operation which really is going to save his life. Because the left eye does have to be removed. However that will release the pressure from the injury which will be like releasing your head from a vice. These guys could have nickel and dimed us to death. They were upfront with the risks and the chances involved. Our Vet Dr. D. Was amazing through the whole process. We pretty much knew that the eye would be lost although we did everything from the drops every 2 hours twice wait 5 to 10 min between each drop then do it all over in 2 hours. Do the Red drop once a day. three pills two for pain control and one for antibiotic 2 times a day with food. After doing the 2 drops every two hours for 72 hours it goes to every 5 hours pills and red drop remain the same. Which was for 14 days. Along with eye lube every few hours 4 to 5 times a day. Sometimes no matter how much you work it just is bound to fail. She took the time to make sure I knew these directions inside and out. To go over how much to feed to make sure he does not also gain weight but to also keep him cumfy. Dr. D. Had made herself open to us when we need to get into see her it has been within days not weeks. We are not rich matter of fact really the opposite. These ladies have never looked down upon us and that means a lot especially right now. They told us that this operation that Russell will have to have is well over 1,000 dollars. That maybe they had sometype of ability to help in special needs cases. The donation that was made by a person when they heard of the bad luck my dad and I had over this last year. To learn that someone just paid that bill for us made me cry. And I did not even have that happen when my aunt and grandmother died in my arms. And we shared the same birthdays. The kindness of this person still has me speechless. Thank you to whom ever you are. You have really made a difference. My pack is back and he will be able to stay alive and recover. Thank you. When I learned of what you did even though I did not have much I donated to a program for people who have financial issues for pets. If you tell me that these people do not care. Man I have a difference for you. We have been here for years with our pets through the times when money was not an issue to times like this. When your character is tested. But I will never not be a client with these people. And if they ever need anything all they have to do is call me and I will be there for them. These people care. And I love them for it. From phone call to appt the wait was a week which I found impressive after how long the waits were for established patients where we just moved from (WV). From the first phone call to check out it was a great experience! Everyone was SO friendly! We were led into the exam room within just a couple minutes of arriving. They drew the blood needed for the heartworm etc testing right there in the exam room and did the exam and vaccinations in there too. The previous vet took them out of the room and away from us which I do not care for. Everyone was so friendly and explained things thoroughly and patiently and pleasantly answered our questions. Price wise they did require a deposit for the exam on the phone, but overall the pricing was very fair and much more reasonable than we paid in TX or WV. Very happy to have found our new vet!

I brought my cat in for ingesting ibuprofen. quick google search says real bad for cats so I…read morepanicked and brought her here after another vet couldn't help with vomiting meds. by the time I got there it had already been two hours since ingestion. They made me call an 800 poison control number that charged me $89 up front to tell me this was a potentially lethal dose (which google already told me) and gave me a case number for them to call and get instructions for care. they came back with a suggestion of 48hrs of fluids and monitoring to the tune of $4800. I about died and told them I'll take her to my regular vet now that theres nothing to do but monitor and fluids. When I called the local vet, they followed up with the same 800 poison control and were told they recommended outpatient monitoring with fluids and meds. Not 48hrs in patient. They quoted $300-$400. I was charged $150 for absolutely nothing and another $89 for them to have an online vet decide what to do and then choose to do differently to make the maximum potential money? If you're looking for a place with all the fancy gadgets and wanting you to max out your credit cards without actually applying medical knowledge or care for YOUR well being, This is the place for you!

After our original vet couldn't give us answers, nor did they even mention seeing a specialist. I didn't even know dermatologists existed for animals until I did a little more digging. Our poor pup had horrible skin flaking but no itching. After some blood work, a skin scraping and some medicated baths, nothing seemed to help. We became desperate. Most dermatology places I called were booked out for at least a few weeks. The pet dermatology clinic was thankfully able to get us in that same day due to a last minute cancellation. They are usually booked out at least a week as well. Dr Eisenschenk was so wonderful, sweet and kind. She could tell what was happening with our baby from a quick physical exam. Obviously we did a skin biopsy just to confirm. It just feels so great to be welcomed and get some answers. Prices were very fair and care exceeded all expectations!!

I can say to my dog, "we're going to the vet!" and her tail starts wagging because she knows she's about to be loved on, even when she needs to get s-h-o-t-s. Rivertown has not only been an amazing partner in my dog's routine care, but they're so flexible. They've fit us in for emergency visits (I have a dramatic dog, and I'm a worried dog mom), have let us pick up flea, tick, and heartworm meds quickly and without hassle, and even fit us in for a last-minute routine test when I didn't realize we were overdue! Maggie was spayed here by Dr. Garlie and I couldn't find her scar even if I tried. I've never seen a dog heal so quickly and without any issues at all! I have been taking my dogs to suburban animal in Roseville for years, even though they don't offer…read moreend of life care so you can't even pick up your furry kids after they have been cremated. And we have loved the vet there! However, yesterday we went for our appointment and were told we went at the wrong time, even though I write on my calendar as I am talking to them on the phone. And their reminder text said the exact same time as what was on my calendar! So after my vet never called after I asked the front desk to have her do so (isn't that the least she could have done?) since they would not honor our appointment time, I asked to speak to the manager today, and she gaslit me. She continuously said their mistake was sending out the wrong time in the text and that I showed up at the wrong time. She said there was nothing she would offer to do to compensate us for our time with a reduced rate other than reschedule the appointment or send our records to a new vet. I asked if she even cared that they were losing 2 clients, and she said we were just one of many who don't go there enough. Super crazy that we are not important because my dogs are healthy, although in years past, we have gone there many many times throughout the year. If you want some place that cares about your furry kids and their people and at the very least authentically apologizes for their mistakes, which never happened here, go someplace else.
