I talked to doctors 2 times and a social worker once and on all 3 occasions they either were thoroughly confused or they just did not care about providing care and instead just lied to me. Of particular note was a Dr. Asmin or Asmen (I might be a little off on his name). He called me to report on the condition of my 80 year old mother after a painful fall. It's wonderful that he called, and if anything he said was honest I would be writing a positive review here. Instead he swore up and down that my mother must been out of her senses when she complained about the medical staff at night moved her injured legs with complete disregard for her immense pain. The doctor promised me that not only was my mother not in pain but that she was given morphine twice. He stated the exact times the medication was given as if he was double-checking to be safe. When I arrived at the hospital I double checked with the nurses, they confirmed that no pain medications were given. I called the doctor back with the nurse at my side, and the doctor said, "honestly, your mother isn't even my patient." Mind you, he had called me, unsolicited, to inform me of how well she was being treated, when the exact opposite was true. Your hospital is pretty, but I would never trust it in a real emergency. If you have family that ends up here, know that it's on you to verify the honesty of everything the staff claims. Be safe and verify everything. 3 lies in a row from doctors isn't an error, it's a pattern showing lack of care, sloppliness, and true incompetence.

I wish I had read the reviews before I booked an appointment with this place (heavy sigh). The lady…read morewho first fitted me and adjusted my brace was nice, but unfortunately, the knee brace did not hold up and I had to exchange it after two months. There was a lot of back-and-forth, and lack of communication in between. They also seemed a bit disorganized and couldn't remember what they ordered me. When I went back to exchange the defective brace and get fitted and adjusted for the new brace, the person I scheduled an appointment with had called out, so they had me wait an hour just so the person covering could come out and hand me the new knee brace in a bag without offering to adjust. Less than two months later I experienced the same issue with the brace condyle pad falling off. Left me feeling disappointed and frustrated. I do not recommend this establishment.

I was seeing an orthopedist at a hospital in NYC, after a wrist fracture. I had a cast on for six…read moreweeks, and once the cast came off, the doctor told me that I had the option for a wrist splint...something that I could easily put on/take off, as needed....say for while sleeping, or when walking around crowded city streets, until such time as I felt more confident/secure regarding my wrist recovery. My doctor's office described the splint they could provide as being 'custom-fitted', so I thought 'sure, why not'? ....Now I'm not sure where the disconnect came from...if it were from my doctor's office, or if it were from the East Coast 'rep', who apparently works in tandem with my doctor's office.... But all I know is this much: there was NOTHING 'custom-fitted' about the splint. When the East Coast rep entered the room I was in, she literally took the splint OUT OF A BOX. All she said to me was that, if the splint were too large, that she might have a smaller size for me. But...what was I to know?.... I've never worn a wrist splint. I didn't know HOW it should fit me...or WHERE the hard plastic underside of the splint should begin/end versus my own forearm/wrist/hand. Sure, the splint had three velcro straps, but then, ALL wrist splints - even generic ones you can buy at the drugstore - have adjustable straps... Either way, it was only once I left the hospital and had a bit more time with the splint that I realized.... it was NOT comfortable on my still-tender wrist. The splint not only hard a hard plastic brace to support the underside of my forearm and wrist but.... it also had hard plastic SIDES that were pressing against my still-bruised wrist. Even though my wrist injury fell under Workman's Comp, for some reason East Coast was not initially aware of this, and so they sent a bill directly to me. The charge for this supposedly 'custom-fitted' wrist brace?? $92. That's Ninety-Two Dollars. That is CRIMINAL! No wonder the US healthcare system is such a mess. What a total scam. But not surprising to me one iota, as shortly after I received the brace and realized how uncomfortable it was...and that there was nothing 'custom-fitted' about it at all...and that the East Coast rep 'conveniently' works IN TANDEM with the hospital, it is a classic US hospital-setting type racket....where one hand washes the other, so to speak. East Coast should be ashamed of themselves, for trying to charge someone $92 for something that probably cost them $15 to purchase wholesale.

I wanted to write my review after the full procedure of seeing another orthopedist was done…read more I had an unsatisfying experience with HVBJ. My appointment was made after a shoulder dislocation. The doctor created stress and concern from the doubts behind what they thought the problems were. I was not even evaluated, and my appointment lasted less than 15 minutes. After being rushed into receiving an mri, it seemed to be my problem after waiting a week for its authorization according to the doctor. My new orthopedist told me everything in my MRI was standard, and non surgical treatment was required. HBVJ told me I would need surgery after a ten minute visit, and then tried doubling down on it after seeing the results of the mri. I understand there are difference in opinions amongst doctors. My frustration is how the doctor went about handling my situation. It seemed the doctor acted vindictive once questions began to be asked, and came off as unprofessional. I would not feel comfortable coming back.

Very unprofessional staff and assistants. Doctors think they are gods and you should be thankful…read moreto be granted time with them. Office disorganized and HUGE LONG wait times no matter what your condition. They dont even have a simple x-ray and dont perform any diagnostic or assesment procedures on you. Worse, when I came back 3 weeks later to see a 2nd doctor in this group of 11 doctors in the same practice, same office, I was told I had to fill out ALL NEW patient forms from scratch becasue these doctors dont share files or patients with each other. and I has to fill out release forms to request Dr. A's assistant go make copies of the records in Dr. B's files. This is ludicrus and insane waste of my time and money. But thats there policy and procedure. Then when Dr. B. requested an MRI for me, his assistant waited 2 full weeks before she called my insurance company to get authorization for the MRI. If you need super skilled surgical experts, maybe these guys are great at that. But for routine exams, diagnosis and advice, they suck, there rude, snooty, snobish and all they care about is surgery. If you cant move for basic functions of daily life or are in excrutiating pain, they couldnt care less unless you have a need for surgery. Details : I went to this medical office twice for pain in my leg from a work injury. First visit to Dr. Aspirino - who told me the CT scan revealed no tears, rips, breaks or physical damage to the bones, cartlage or ligaments in knee. I specifically asked him if the CT vs. MRI is adequate to show such damage and he confidently said yes, "you have no orthopedic damage to the knee". 3 weeks later still in same pain, saw his partner in same office, same group - Dr. Zelasny said "CT scans dont always show tears and rips in soft tissue, lets get an MRI. I told him that contradicts his partner, he said "Aspirinos a shoulder specialist, I'm a knee specialist, listen to me". I thought this is BS and both failed Orthopedics 101 ability to understand and explain CT and MRI scans properly. I walked out.
