I had to pay $388 out-of-pocket to avoid the bill (that I should never have received) going to collections. MUSC said I should be reimbursed eventually, but over a month has gone by. According to my health insurance company, MUSC has not taken any action to resolve the issue. Fraudulent billing. PSA: All women with health insurance are entitled to free annual well-woman exams under the Affordable Care Act. The exam needs to be billed correctly as preventative care.

Some healthcare facilities here clearly just push patients through and you barely get 5 minutes of the doctor's time. You won't get that at Carnes Crossroads Primary Care, or any MUSC facility for that matter. Dr. Bigelow was highly recommended to us. He has very good bedside manner and I appreciate that he actually takes the time to listen to what is going on. Plus the MUSC MyChart app is very useful for tracking test results and for communicating with your healthcare team. The only problem that I have is that everyone else in the area must be going here too because it's near impossible to get a same day appointment. I was told if you are sick you can almost always get an appointment same or next day, but I'm not sure how accurate that is. For example, my son has a possible infection and called 8am Monday morning to schedule an appointment and the earliest they could see him was Wednesday at 4pm. So it's kind of a catch 22: you'll great health care here but only if they have the time to see you. Even with that, I highly recommend going here.

Our direct deposit had not cleared the bank so he called (on Saturday) to reschedule his appointment. No one answered the phone so he left a message stating he could not pay for his appointment and would like to schedule it for later in the week. No one returned his call. He then called back on Monday morning (the day of his appointment) and spoke to a woman named Christy. Christy was extremely rude. Because she had not checked the messages my husband was put down as a no show and is "not allowed" to make another appointment at this office ever. We were informed by Christy that we could have easily borrowed the $260.00 over the weekend to pay for this appointment. That is absurd and extremely unprofessional. I suppose if we had asked her to borrow it she would have graciously lent it, since she acts like $260.00 is chump change. Do NOT give this sorry excuse of a business your money. They act like they are better than anyone trying to enroll in their programs. Greed is what runs this practice.

Not only did they not review my previous history, but they had also dismissed me of all my questions and concerns. They showed no interest when I had seen them in person or when I had messaged them online. I will no longer continue to go to this office
