Long due review! My apologies Jacob. By far, above and beyond the best instructor/ teacher out…read morethere. With all the choices we have for driving school, what made us decide to go with Driver Education Alliance/ JW driving school, after researching and reading reviews from yelp and google, one thing stood out. Jacob is young! And students (teenagers) can relate to him. So, communication was a BIG PLUS in my opinion when it comes to teenagers. To some parents out there, Don't be dissuade of Jacob's age (being young) he is old enough to teach our teenagers, and he is an actual teacher by career. JW driving is something extra he does aside from his teaching job. This alone tells me how much he enjoys teaching, and it really shows. My kids were able to endure 5-6 hour classes on the weekend. I heard them laughing and very engaging, and that's because Jacob makes it fun for them to learn. He makes them do presentations, hence the students are really taking the time to learn and understand. Jacob is very dedicated to our children. He has a classroom full of teenagers, but I feel like my kids were getting private lessons from him because that's how dedicated he is to each student (We're not just a number of faces that he sees daily). He made sure that the kids were really prepared for written and driving exam. He took the time to take them in different routes, whether it's in Wahiawa or Kapolei. He made sure to find each of our kids comfort level. Now that's dedication ensuring to see his students succeed! Honestly, i cannot thank Jacob enough. He is so patient with the kids that he was able to ease our stress and anxiety. We live in town and I will drive all the way in Mililani because I know Jacob will take away all the anxiety we have when the kids were learning to drive But it doesn't end there. He truly cares about the students and the parents too. He is very accommodating and will always try to make scheduling work for the entire family. He is prompt. He is also good at sending reminders which is a big plus for busy parents. And at the end of each lesson, he gave us tips/ feedbacks, which helped us a lot during the kids own driving hours. There's a lot more I can say, but if you're looking for a driving instructor for your teen, look no further than JW Driving School or in IG, Drivers Education Alliance / Jacob Wong

We are incredibly grateful for Keku's Driving Academy and especially for Scott Keku. Years ago, we…read morepurchased their driving course for our daughter when she was still in high school. The program included both a classroom component and a behind-the-wheel component. At the time, she was able to complete the classroom portion, which helped her successfully obtain her learner's permit. Unfortunately, due to timing and life transitions, she never had the opportunity to use the hands-on driving portion before graduating high school and moving on to college. Fast forward a few years--my daughter has been struggling to pass her driving exam, so I reached out to Scott to explain our situation and simply ask if there was any way he might be willing to help. Scott went above and beyond anything we expected. He graciously offered my daughter a complimentary driving session, even though years had passed since we originally purchased the course. During that session, Scott was outstanding. He took my daughter through the actual exam route, explained exactly what examiners look for, and gave her clear, practical feedback on what she needs to improve. He even ran the lesson as if it were a real driving test--playing the role of the examiner and scoring her--so she could truly understand the expectations and feel prepared. His knowledge of the DMV testing process is impressive, and his ability to explain things calmly and clearly made a huge difference in my daughter's confidence. Scott is the definition of a true professional: compassionate, patient, extremely knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping students succeed. My daughter walked away from that session feeling informed, empowered, and confident that she now has the tools she needs to pass her driving exam. We are so thankful for Scott's kindness and generosity, and we cannot recommend Keku's Driving Academy highly enough. If you have a child who needs to learn the rules of the road, build confidence behind the wheel, and be truly prepared for their driving test, this is the driving school you want. Mahalo, Scott--you made a real difference for our family.

They're flexible and they had me scheduled quickly and were patient with my nervousness, but also great at bolstering my confidence. Jimmy was a great instructor and fun to chat with during lessons (1.5 hours in a car is a lot of driving!). Passed the road test on the first try! On a complete sidenote, they're also both just super nice. When we were there for my road test (I was using their car), another person taking their road test found out that someone stole the safety inspection sticker, which meant they couldn't use her car. Jimmy offered to let her use their company car, which def saved the day!

He uses very effective teaching tools to clearly demonstrate the rules of the road and proper driving skills. I am a teacher at the University of Hawaii, and from a teaching perspective, I am truly impressed by the quality of his instruction. He genuinely cares about his students and is invested in helping them succeed. I am from Hong Kong and started with absolutely no driving experience. I didn't even know how to ride a bike or operate a vehicle. I was starting completely from zero. Brian taught me step by step with great patience. Even when I made mistakes, he never scolded me. Instead, he was always encouraging and supportive. I only began lessons in late December, and I obtained my license on April 16, taking the test in Kapahulu, which is known to be quite challenging. Although I failed my first attempt, Brian carefully explained what went wrong and worked with me to develop a clear plan to improve my weaknesses. As a non-native English speaker, I also appreciated how clear and easy Brian is to communicate with. Despite living in town, he was willing to travel all the way from Mililani to teach me. Brian is experienced, knowledgeable about the rules and skills required, and always provides clear, structured guidance. I feel very fortunate to have had him as my driving instructor.

All I can say is that he is an awesome instructor!!! He's patient, kind, and easy to talk to. My son took driving lessons from him and passed on his first try, and with a perfect score when he went for his driving test. Scheduling lessons with Brian is easy and he's flexible. He would pick up my son and drop him off. After each lesson, Brian would text me and let me know how the lesson went. He would tell me where they drove to, what techniques were practiced and what areas that he still needed to work on. Some of the lessons also included routes that that he would be driving. They also drove the test route many times and practiced various ways on how to park. All the practice paid off because during my son's road test, his parallel parking was flawless. From his first lesson with Brian to his last lesson, I could see an improvement in my son's driving. He is more confident and the safe driving techniques have been ingrained in his head. By far, if you need a driving instructor, I would highly recommend Brian.

I had learned a very "crash course" version of EKG's during my med/surg rotation in school, but it…read morehadn't really stuck with me. I decided it would be good for me to learn them more in depth, outside of school. The website with the class schedule is ekgusa.com. Location is at Wayland Baptist University in Mililani Mauka. There was always ample parking at Wayland, which I liked. The building itself is small, but nice, new, and air-conditioned. :) One weird thing about Wayland U., is that on the front door there is a sign that very clearly says, "No food/drinks inside the building". But inside the building there is a big table with snacks/beverages/a Keurig machine where you can pick out anything you want "by donation". A little confusing, but I really like the effort they put into the snack table. Also, free WIFI. I had done a lot of research on different places offering EKG courses on Oahu, and the other places that offered EKG courses all never had a set schedule for the summer. EKG Skillbuilders was the only one that had a schedule up for the rest of the year. You can view the schedule online at http://www.ekgusa.com, and also register for the classes from that website. I really liked that you can reserve your spot online, but you don't have to pay until the first day of class. $190 for the 4 day EKG Basics course. Try to bring exact change if you pay in cash, since she doesn't seem to carry a change box. The EKG Basics course that I took was over a course of 4 days scheduled from 8:30 AM-3:30 PM. I was hesitant to sign up at first, because 4 days of just EKGs sounded incredibly boring, especially for 7 hours each day. In actuality, the days went by really quickly, and every day we got out early (getting out early depends on how the class is absorbing the information). You also get a whole hour for lunch (every day at 11 AM), which is ample time to drive off campus and go to the Mililani Mauka Shopping Center or Mililani Town Center for lunch (so many good places to choose from nearby). I believe some of the other places that offer EKG courses have classes that are much shorter (as in one day), but I really do not see how you could cover the amount of material in the depth that we studied in just one day. I highly recommend spacing it out over 4 days, because it is a LOT of material to absorb. I also like that there is no mandatory assigned homework or graded quizzes/tests. All of the quizzes are done in class as a group, so you don't have to stress about not passing the course. You put what you get into the course though, so if you really want to understanding EKGs, you will need to spend time practicing on your own time. For each of her EKG courses, you get a spiral bound book that the instructor (Sandy Gresham) wrote herself, using real EKG strips. By the end of the course, you get a TON of practice analyzing strips. The class is definitely interactive, and I like that you get to hear a lot of anecdotal, "real-life" stories that apply to what you are likely to see in an acute care setting. Pretty much all of the students in the class I took were working in an acute care setting. Things I recommend to bring to class: - jacket (it gets cold) - home lunch if you want to save money (there's a microwave) - cash/change for the snack bar - pens (I recommend bringing colored pens)--the book is in black and white so being able to mark on the strips in the book with a colored pen is extremely helpful - highlighters There are other different courses she offers, including "Beyond Basics EKG" and "12-Lead EKG". I still need time to absorb everything I learned from the Basics EKG course, but I'm interested in taking the 12-Lead. You do get a signed certificate at the end of each course, which is great for your resume and proof that you took the course. I think my favorite thing about choosing EKG Skillbuilders was that you can retake the course any time if you feel you need to refresh. You would just bring back your book and sit in on another class. Overall, I would highly recommend taking EKG classes here!
