I had very similar reviews to others reviews unfortunately. I too was told there was a 40-50(don't recall) fee for new clients. Insurance told me zero out of pocket, but office said it was mandatory for new clients. Guilted and pressured, I paid it bc my deductible was $0, so there you have it. Office staff were incredible and I'd give them 5 stars, however, the nickel and diming every damn visit, painful insertion of needles, and little to no relief after visits--- yeah, no thanks.. Puessure to try Moxa(May have spelled wrong,) was told it would alleviate anxiety instantly; went home and amplified anxiety.. Nickel and dimed. Doc told me a 350/tea(yes a tea,) would eliminate my life long symptoms of ADHD in a month.. Are you kidding me, lmao. I didn't get sucked into that one... Ultimately, I felt anxious walking in bc every damn time I knew I would be pressured into an up sell & I just didn't get relief from the treatment. I understand everyone's body is different, and I've had great success with other practitioners, however, I didn't feel this clinic met any marks to keep my loyalty. She talks you through whatever she's doing, explains it all to you so you understand what's happening, is gentle and has a good bedside manner, was kind and polite, and I was made comfortable right from the start. I appreciated her telling me about the herbs and other things she has available (and that my insurance would not cover them), and also how clean the office and room was. I have had chronic lower back pain for some time. I've tried epidural shots to the pain area which lasted a couple of weeks. That didn't work. Next I tried a chiropractor that didn't work consistently. I would recommend Dr. Lee which is very knowledgeable about this subject. I have had five sessions with her @ no pain. read more

I went there 3 times. Each time I was offered ( to buy) multiple services: tea, ointment, hot stone treatments, cupping, etc. Despite visit #2 and #3 being the same, the billing was quite different. I was told the lowest amount was their mistake: that I was obligated to pay 20% of the fee they charge the insurance company, which they inflate as they know it will not be paid. The second visit I was charged 20% of the fee they have on display. Something is not right... additional info---I called the insurance company and learned that the office was billing using the out of network provider number despite the office knowing my insurance and knowing that they were listed as an in network provider. Insurance has asked them to resubmit with in network provider number. I'm assuming they make more using the out of network number. Shame on them.. Beware!!! read more

Dr. Lee saved me from losing the use of my right wrist. I dislocated two wrist bones in a snowboard accident. My surgeon, who was also excellent, Dr Jeffery Seip, was sure I was going to lose vasculature, causing osteonecrosis, resulting in a surgery that would effectively freeze my wrist movement. After seeing Dr. Lee for three weeks my surgeon was astonished to find no necrosis and asked for her business cards. He said he believes the acupuncture saved my wrist bones. A year of later I am now seeing her for back pain and am excited to see how this treatment goes. read more

I was only able to attend one visit, initially I went in under my insurance which is a covered benefit, as I had my consult with the Dr. she informed me that what I was there for was not a covered benefit. The cost for my visit was $225.00 plus the cost of a recommended tea at the cost of $100 for a weeks supply. Total for 30 mins was $325.00. I conveyed my concerns to the front desk that if my insurance was not going to cover my treatments , I would not be able to afford each visit at $225.00. I was told I needed to have pain in order to have them bill, he stated he did not like to bill insurance as they did not " pay much". I indeed have pain due to my other issues, but they would not bill since the main cause of my pain was due to these issues??? They stated that it would be fraud? I just felt that they wanted the cash in hand, upsell their teas and supplements rather than deal with insurance companies. Very disappointed, overall upon entering the office you can see "sales and packages" available for herbal Viagra & weight loss. Seems to be a big focus to "upsell" these. The tea I purchased did seem to help alleviate my issues, however at the cost of $100.00 per week is outrageously out of my budget. read more

I have a herniated disk in my neck with a severe pinched nerve. I was referred to a chiropractor, which he said he couldn't help. My primary then referred me to a pain clinic for shots and medication; I didn't want to go that route. My primary also recommended a bone fusion surgery. I decided to try acupuncture with Dr. Lee. I was kind of skeptical but the first treatment was relaxing and beneficial. The second treatment I had my first night sleep with no numbness, no tossing and turning and no pain. I saw Dr Lee because a friend had recommended her since i frequent the rancho mirage area often. As soon as i walked in the door i immediately noticed how clean the clinic was. Nothing worse then seeing a messy clinic and dust all over the place which was one of the reasons I didn't like another office in my hometown of chicago. She was very attentive to my issues I was having and recommended a variety of treatment options in which a part of it was the use of the rocks. Im a huge fan of the hot saunas and jacuzzis that are all over the place, and so having these hot stones was very comforting. What a scam...they are "aetna insur providers" and are bound by the negotiated rates of the insur company...however, they go ahead and do moxa and cupping and charge extra without telling the patient it would not be covered by insurance... very unfair...so very unhappy read more

I feel like I was swindled! Dr. Lee is sharp, abrasive and not at all calming. I walked into her office a bundle of nerves seeking assistance. After establishing that I am dully covered by insurance, she kept quuestiong whether or not I had cash to pay her co pays, and any 'extras'...strange. But I continued the appt. She inserted 8 needles, 3 so painful i begged her to remove them! After my appointment she charged my co pay, then told me I had a $50 1st time patient fee!!!...totally not advertised or posted...As I stood waiting for her staff member to cash me out, Dr. Lee actually REACHED INSIDE MY PURSE, INTO MY WALLET, AND PULLED MONEY OUT!!!!!Her staff member even balked at that...and explained that he had made an error while counting, so she handed my money back! Crazy!! I am a breast cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy, I'm already stressed and that experience was awful, left me unable to rest and feeling taken advantage of. read more

Dr. Lee is amazing! My husband has been suffering with severe neuropathy and phantom pain for years. In 12 treatments he is almost pain free! This is the best he's felt in years. I had an amazing experience at this place I've hurt my back like about 2 months ago and i went to 2 other two massages places before coming here, and my back still the same in so much pain. I got there literally no be able to bend over to tie my shoes, my session was for one hour when it was over I feel so good my pressure of my back was gone and I could bend over to tie my shoes. I was introduced to Stephanie Lee through a client of mine that had been going to her for some time. I had constant neck pain and stiffness for the last 3 years prior to arriving at her office this week. I'm in my mid-40's but due to the pain and stiffness in my neck, people would joke that I looked like an old man turning my head. I have frequent muscle spasms and nerve pain in my upper back and had one of these on vacation in Palm Desert. My hotel recommended Dr, Lee. I told her where the muscle problems were in my back but she insisted I lie on my back and she put needles in the front. I insisted on trying lying on my stomach and it was painful so she insisted I lie on my back. She never got the needles anywhere near the area of pain. It was a worthless experience and then she charged me $250 ! I went to 3 other acupuncturists for that episode and was charged between $65 and $85, The other acupuncturist in the Palm Springs area had me lie on my side for part of the session and sit in a chair for the rest, which was comfortable, and he put the needles in my back where the muscle spasms were. It worked perfectly. I will never go to Dr. Lee again - she was not interested in hearing where my problem was and how others had fixed it, and her charge is outrageous. read more

I have arthritis of the spine. Recently I saw a report in Medical News Today (http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/315817.php) that acupuncture is now recommended for lower back pain before escalating to drugs or surgery. I had been wary of acupuncture, as many may be, because I figured it was probably quackery. The fact that a trusted medical source recommended it prompted me to give it a shot. I am so glad I did! And I'm happy that I chose Dr. Lee to treat me. She quickly demonstrated her command of the ancient art and had this doubter feeling much better after the first session. After three treatments, the pain was all but gone! Now I just go in once in a while for a tune-up. Equally important as the great results, Dr. Lee is a very nice lady who obviously truly cares about my general well-being. She takes the time to answer any questions I have and even provides extra treatment if some other ache or pain is bothering me. She is in no hurry and clearly takes great pride and joy simply in alleviating ones torment. Take it from this skeptic. Acupuncture does indeed work. And Dr. Lee's office is a terrific place to go.
