Road Crew Flagging job: No breaks No lunch break Forced to urinate and defecate in the woods, assuming you're even near any. ZERO portapotties The "lead" flagger forced me to continue working while going through heat exhaustion. Blurry vision heart rate spiked at 157. Needless to say, I quit after that. Getting paid was a pain as well. I signed up for direct deposit after not getting paid for two weeks and after sending the 4th email I finally get a response that my check was at the office. I drive to the office 30 minutes away and the very rude employee says that there's no check there and she can't do anything about it and claims it's on a payment card. Still staying calm despite the horrible treatment after multiple polite emails and phone calls the manager (or perhaps the owner calls me). In a raised and very rude voice this woman threatens to call the police on me if I continue "yelling and threatening people" which I never did. At this point, I WAS ready to start yelling at people so my wife took over and calmly straightened out this deranged manager. I then received the payment card they never gave me, a few hours later. 24 hours later my money was actually on the card. I'm 40 years old and Advance Employment of Michigan is by far the worst company I've ever worked for. Run away, you'd be better off picking up cans off the side of the road. read more

We have worked with Advanced for a few years. We have had trouble making sure that they are targeting the right type of employees for us. Out of all of the staff we have direct hired through Advanced none remain. Even with additional screening services they are still unable to place qualified employees. Most recently we had a direct hire quit within 30 days. We informed Advance that the employee was not working out and that we would like to use their guarantee to replace the position and they said that they would not honor their guarantee. I tried discuss the issue with the person who runs the branch with no success. We will no longer be using Advanced. Buyer beware. read more
