My first car that I owned was a Pontiac Grand Am. I loved it. My friend had got a remote car starter for his car installed at this Advance Electronics. When you live in Winnipeg, it's nice having a car starter when the temperature is -40°C in the winter before you factor in the windchill. I followed suit. I had no idea how to install a remote car starter. You can buy the kit and do it yourself if you are savvy. I had a knowledgeable male staffer lead me the way to the selection of car starters. Once I chose the one that suited my needs, he booked an appointment to have my car starter installed. It took a couple of hours to have it installed. I ended up dropping off my car and then waiting for it by having lunch at an eatery that is sadly gone. It had the best spaghetti pie that I have ever had. I was pleased with my car starter. The left button started my car. I could be a few blocks away and it would start without fail. It was cool and much needed when it was frigid outside. I had an outdoor parking spot where I lived, so starting my car remotely was nice. I was recently at a spa to get a manicure while on vacation. Advance Electronics was across the street, which brought back fond memories of owning my first car and having a remote car starter installed. Since I moved back to Markham, I have never had the need for a car starter. It would be a nice perk, but it's not as cold here to merit shelling out for one. (321) read more

On July 6th, I went to the Contact Us section where there is no direct email, but there is a section called "GO AHEAD, ASK US ANYTHING". I provided the necessary contact information and requested assistance in describing how to disconnect a TV from a wall mount that was installed by Advance in 2018. Last Saturday I called and spoke to Adam ( Manager) about a situation with my family members who live in Winnipeg when their TV that appeared to have died suddenly. They are both in their 80's and were suddenly lost with what they could do when their TV stopped working. They both have health issues that keep them at home and their TV is an important and vital part of their life. I explained to Adam the situation and the fact that for 2 people on limited income this was a major hit to their finances. He suggested a TV for a very reasonable price and arranged for your 2 technicians to come to the house to look at it as well as bring a new TV to replace the old one. The 2 technicians could not have been nicer, and they told my family members that the TV that they had ( which they finally were able to get working ) was in perfect condition and that they did not need a new one. They took back the TV , I purchased on behalf of them and only charged me the cost to come to the house to look at the TV. I want to recognize your team for their exceptional service as well as their kindness and honesty. We live in a world where far too often the elderly and others are taken advantage of when they face a situation like this. They could have easily said that they needed a new TV and none of us would have questioned that. I really do believe that this experience is not the norm and had I reached out to another company I am certain the result would be completely different. Every company makes claims that they care about the customer and most often it's more about caring about making a sale. Advance Electronics proved that they really do. The team at Advance have reminded us that there are still good people in this troubled world. Thanks so much to Adam and the technicians that came to the house for all that they did for us. I recently bought some fairly expensive Sennheiser wireless tv headphones. Since I had a pair of their headphones previously I thought these would be just as good---NOT SO! The headphones themselves are incredibly uncomfortable, I cannot control the sound (up or down). Not worth the price, and of course, non-refundable. I also paid to have a technician come and hook them up for me. He had to come out twice and still could not get any better result, I am hard of hearing so the headphones are a real necessity for me to enjoy tv watching---well not anymore. Having said I am hard of hearing, my old Sennheiser headphones worked wonderfully, but they were old and eventually just died. I have used them to instal televisions in my house, a home theatre, and recently 3 televisions with sound bars, sound, etc in my cottage and a 75 inch television at my business. Advance Electronics - WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! - Purchased a video camera - audio cuts out (off warranty) - took it in for service They kept my camera for 6 months! then had the gall to tell me if I didn't pick it up in 30 days they reserved the right to sell it to offset their costs! Told me if I wanted my camera back I'd have to pay their $165.00 diagnosis fee but they didn't do ANYTHING! They couldn't provide ANY diagnostic transcript or even paperwork showing that analysis or troubleshooting had been done or even that a technician had looked at it!! The Manager said "it needs a deck replacement" at 2/3 the cost of a new camera!! What could I do? I paid their extortion fee, took my camera and cursed them to Hades. I will never Never NEVER deal with Advance Electronics AGAIN!!!!! read more
