Our Rep manipulated us and acted like he was such a great guy, lied about what service we were getting and pushed us to give him a five star review on his company page then ghosted us and left us with faulty equipment that we can't get service for! I've had adt for 3 years, I have to move for work and found out that the rep who signed me up did a 5 year contract and I'll be getting $1,500 bill as my final bill. Since when you breach the contract, you owe 75% of the remaining contract in fees. I should have looked for thieves in the people who were to provide security. I made the mistake of signing up and when the guy came to install it he wanted to cut holes in my walls. I'm a new home owner who got a cold call from ADT. Their sales person used high pressure sales tactics ("you can't get this deal if you don't do it now"), discouraged me from shopping around, and I had to tell them "no" four times before I gave up, hung up, and blocked their number. They're definitely not getting my business. read more

This is the worst company I have ever done business with . They told me it would be about $200.00 to start the alarm service and all the equipment was included. Also I would receive 100.00 visa with installation. So it's been almost two moths since they installed the system I still to not have all the equipment, never received the Visa card now they have know recited of my account! But they did take almost 600.00 out of my account for 3 months in advance and 200.00 more for a camera. The company that installed the system does not work for them anymore and they cannot send any information out about the Visa. Do not sign up with them!!! Go to Costco !!! read more

Absolutely horrible service. I have been having equipment issues (sensors randomly falling off doors / windows). They said they couldn't send a tech to fix these items but would send a repair kit to fix it. They have told me they would send it 3x'd over the last several months and I have yet to receive one. They then blamed their supplier...here I sit with faulty equipment and no help from them or any of their sub-contractors after multiple phone calls...beyond frustrating. Will definitely be getting rid of their system ASAP. read more

This is really a terrible company and shady operation. I got a letter in the mail for $19 a month with $0 start up cost. They didn't mention that only includes a couple sensors. $2000 equipment fee and $59 a month later, I am set up. Oh, and it's some "Defenders" company that comes and sets everything up, in an unmarked car. Doesn't feel very secure. Oh well, I needed a security system to get insurance on valuable property I was storing, so I was rushing to get a security system ASAP. I get several false alarms within the first week. Very nerve wracking. Takes a few weeks to get someone to come out and fix it. Then the cameras stop working. Another few weeks to fix, despite paying extra per month for surveillance! I got a new job so I need to move, and want to cancel. They want 75% of my remaining 3 year contract. WOW what nerve. I should be getting money back from them to come and take back their sensors and cameras, instead they want $1,900!! Stay away from this nightmare company! read more

I called ADT and spoke with a representative, about prices of their services, they keep increasing, like everything else. I was told by the representative they will lower my bill and give me one month free, I agreed to that I just got my bill and is was not lowered and they did not give me a free month. So I called back today and spoke to a representative that said no they will not do that, so I spoke to a supervisor who also said they will not do that....I do not recommend ADT. read more

Since December I have tried to get the components I purchased installed correctly. The installer came with the wrong product and has never come back to install what I ordered and to fix the component that was installed improperly. I will be changing companies when my contract is up. I upgraded my post to a 3 star because it did take 7 calls to ADT multiple texts to my sales rep and weeks of 80 degree bedrooms for them to come and properly install my equipment & I pay a monthly service for them to do so. After 4 months they fixed the problem and while the installer called to chew out the previous installer, I waited for an apology or service credit. Still waiting. read more

Save your money and buy your own inhouse hardwire security system. Inconsistent recording and convoluted operating system.

I have yet to get my original order completed. Moved from out of state and was told we could just transfer our ADT account and have everything installed for a discounted rate. Instead they cancelled our account, billed for the cancellation fee, billed for installation for a new account, and sent a guy out who had no proper equipment, no idea what job he was scheduled to do, and was unable to explain the bills. They were supposed to install cameras with DVR, window sensors, and have a sales rep explain our options and bill. There are some of the unresolved issues. read more

I have ADT for 12+ years on multiple properties and have referred them to friends and family over the years. LOYAL CUSTOMER. Called in to have them look at my contract that expired and spoke to some clown for 45 min and said they would email me a contract this morning, never sent it. Called in again today and asked to speak with a supervisor, got this lady on the phone and she said it had already been re-newed for 1year, she said like my contract said. I said I signed a contract over 3 years ago, I don't have the contract in front of me like I told the guy the day before in which he said he would send and I would receive it today, never happened. So I canceled all services, and will pass that message along to all my friends and family also. This could have been an easy fix. If they can't do the simple things, I cant trust them to protect my houses or our business, and neither should you!! read more
