I have not been able to reach ANYONE who could help with my ADT Solar. Last month we had a storm that knocked my enphase system out and it appears as if the solar has not been functioning since at least then. I've tried everything to get in touch with someone at your "ADT SOLAR" customer service (which doesn't exist). I am having to hire outside solar repairmen out of pocket because ADT NO LONGER HONORS THE CONTACT I HAVE WITH YOU. It is now common knowledge. that ADT has SCAMMED and DEFRAUDED thousands of ADT Solar customers by BREACH OF CONTRACT. This is my latest attempt to get SOMEONE at ADT to actually respond to me concerning this. ADT Solar assumed my contract from SunPro Solar. I've only had solar for a little over 5 years (of the 25 year contract with you) and I come to find out this month that ADT has turned it's back on all it's solar customers. 1 Star I am beyond frustrated with ADT and the terrible service I've received. I have scheduled four separate service appointments, and not a single one resolved my issues. During the first appointment, I was told the technician had come to my home, but no one ever arrived. For the second appointment, the technician showed up without the necessary equipment to fix my system and blamed customer service for the mistake. During the third appointment, another technician also arrived without the required equipment and explained that he was only filling in for someone who had called out. Then, during the fourth appointment, the technician never showed up at all. Meanwhile, ADT has no problem taking my payment on the 20th of every month, yet my equipment remains unrepaired. My touchscreen is broken, my Google base station doesn't work, and one of my smoke detectors is not functioning. It is unacceptable to continue charging customers while repeatedly failing to provide the service they are paying for. At this point, it feels like ADT is stealing my money. Every month they continue to charge me, but they have repeatedly failed to provide the service I'm paying for or repair my equipment after four scheduled appointments. I feel completely let down, misled, and taken advantage of as a customer. System has been down for months. Tried to schedule an appointment but they refused stating I needed to troubleshoot first. The system would turn on, could not troubleshoot. Then, one morning around 4:00am this week, the alarm suddenly turns on and starts ringing. I called ADT and they instructed me on how to disable the alarm. Attempted to call back today to have it cancelled (we got a new company/service)...they asked for the address, the pin, the emergency contact and then their phone number. I did not have access to the email at the time so they refused to cancel even with all of that info stating they needed verification before they assist. I pointed out that they instructed me on how to disable an alarm with less information. I pointed out that a burglar could call in and get instructions on how to disarm an alarm, but couldn't tell you to stop automatic billing. There is no security in that. If you use this company and your system goes out of service, they will have no idea. When you notify them, they will refuse to send service but continue to bill you despite knowing you are receiving no services. Every time I have had to call them, it has been nothing but a headache. I would definitely NOT recommend this service. The customer service department is even worse than the equipment (which was always down/including the app). When we finally were able to cancel today (after a phone call that lasted over an hour) we were told we would still be billed for a month. I called ADT because there was a low battery alarm on the main box (wireless converter) panel not the control panel. The person I spoke to said that there would be no service charge and I would only be responsible for the battery approximately $30.00. When the technician called he informed me of a trip charge $59.99. Not only did they not inform me of this but why should I pay for technical support in my monthly bill (saves $79.99 if service is required)? Honestly it is a scam to get you 1 way or the other. What really gets my goat is they will ship the lithium battery for the keypad but state they can't ship this battery. I am writing this letter in true disgust over the service I never received. I have been a customer of Protection One/ ADT for several years. I phoned on 9/13/2023 to have a technician come out to repair some wiring on my home alarm panel. A technician was scheduled to come to my residence on 9/19/2023, between the hours of 8 A.M. and 12 P.M. I rearranged my schedule so I could be home when the technician arrived. At approximately 10:50 A.M. I received a call from ADT stating that the technician had called in sick, and that I would have to reschedule my appointment for another day. I'm relatively sure that this technician is not the first one to ever call in sick. I would think that a company of this magnitude would have some sort of contingency plan in place to overcome an obstacle of the nature. Unfortunately my schedule is extremely busy the next few days, and even more busy since I had to rearrange my schedule for today in anticipation of the technician coming. I rescheduled my appointment for 9/22/2023. Shortly thereafter I realized I was not available on that day. I called back to see if another technician could come to my home later in the day on 9/19/2023. I'm sure this was not the first time a technician has called in sick and that person is not the only technician in the area. The young lady I spoke to placed me on an extended hold and when she returned to the phone, I was told there were no other technicians available the entire day. At that point I requested to speak to a supervisor. After a yet longer extended wait the same lady came back on the line and said she had spoken with the supervisor, and was told to offer me a $25.00 discount on my next bill. I was not attempting to get any type of discount. What I needed was a technician to come to my home. I was finally able to speak to a supervisor and I explained my dilemma to her. She had me hold on then returned to the phone and told me she could not have a technician come out on the scheduled day. My first question to her was why I would not get informed the day before or earlier on the scheduled day that the technician had called in sick. I'm pretty sure the technician called in a lot earlier than 10:50 A.M. (the time I was notified). Running a business in this manner is totally unacceptable. I unnecessarily rearranged my schedule so I could be home when the technician arrived. The way I was treated was like my business and longevity was of no big concern and that my business over the years was not valued. That certainly a poor way to run a company who is supposed to be here to meet the paying customer's needs. I felt that my business is not appreciated. I decided that since I am not a valued customer to Protection One/ADT, that I will discontinue my service. I have already contacted Vivint and set up for a technician to come set up a security system. I will see if they are more receptive and will appreciate my business. read more

Continuous probing questions attempting to up-sell when I'm cancelling service. Very poor, mostly unintelligible VOIP voice quality. Still no email confirmation. An absolute disaster. Took our money for months and did not even monitor our home. We had a BREAK IN BURGLARY while we were home and the system never called for help. Made a service appointment that was confirmed on the phone then via email on Friday for an appointment today. ADT no longer has a functioning customer service component to assist with alarm events. I am looking elsewhere. On Sept 20, 2022, while I was out of town, my ADT alarm system went off at around 10am. ADT, which is now outsourced abroad, notified me it would take 24 minutes to speak to an ADT agent. The second attempt to call it was 54 minutes. I never spoked to an ADT agent but called the Orangeburg City police department, who notified me that my home was secure. I continued to call ADT throughout the day and leave messages. An agent returned my call around 2:30pm, with no explanation as to why agents are no longer available for alarm alerts. Requesting to speak to a manager, on 09/22/22, a voicemail was left and the return number put me through to the same new call system and the wait time was 36 minutes with the option to leave my contact number. read more

Dont know why its always hard to cancel service. Been a customer since 2012. I called last month to cancel my service because I sold my house. I told the representative when to set my cancellation but he was more concerned about coming to the house and doing a survey for the new owners, A month later, I get a charge from ADT. When I called ADT, they told me there is no record of me calling in. Not surprised. They still charged me. Should have left them for another company years ago. By the way, one night while we were out of town, alarm went off. They asked if the police should go investigate, I told them yes, Thank God, it was nothing. 2 months later, I get a bill from the city beacuse I did not have a liscence for my alarm. Horrendous Protection One/ADT Services. I have had Protection One/ADT services for the past 30+ years in California and now in Park City, UT. The services have become progressively worse and customer care seems at best an afterthought. I have never dealt with a company in any field less responsive to customer needs. Approximately 2 weeks ago my system began repeatedly beeping. When it couldn't be fixed over the phone I was told how to stop the beeping temporarily since I couldn't have a tech out for about 2 weeks. Despite being assured that the beeping wouldn't recur after I followed the phone instructions, the beeping has recurred almost daily. I had an appointment for today which was cancelled because the tech "couldn't get out" due to a snow storm despite the fact there was no snow sticking on the streets at the time of the call. The earliest re-schedule was a month out without any answers for the recurrent beeping. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was told a manager would call me, "usually in about 24 hours." Worst service. I requested a quote just because I was curious. The sales rep was named Rich (beware if anyone gets a quote from a Rich). He strong armed me for 3 hours, I kept telling him I was late to work, had to discuss with my parents and needed a day or two. He went to his car, got his boss on the phone and they both badgered me (would not leave even after I told them multiple times I had to speak to my parents.) he even went as far as asking me to get my parents on the phone right then and there on a Monday morning in July. I was told that I have cancellation options if I'm unhappy. My lease is only 6months and I travel in and out of the country for work but my parents would be paying for adt. That was not the case. I cancelled within my 3 month frame I thought I had because my landlord a police officer told me to make sure they got an alarm permit or I would be charged every time the alarm goes off and police/fire come to the house. Each time the fee would get higher. Took 4 phone calls with a minimum of 1 hour hold times to find out that I had to get the permit myself. That's when I wanted out because I was basically paying for nothing. Had to pay $1000 balance for a 3 year contract!!! And that was the reduced price after a customer service rep finally came around. The system is obsolete, the door bell camera is not compatible with IPhones I learned this from the technician, he knew this issue but he did not say anything about it. We do not receive alerts when someone is by the front door. It takes forever to get connected to the interior camera and door bell. We called ADT and they transfer our call to Ring, and our door camera is not even from Ring They were unable to trouble shoot the camera. In August, I paid 1680.00 for the equipment and 150.00 for the installation. The system does not work correctly - I found it more annoying than helpful. I am now stuck paying for it for 3 years - I unplugged it. The doorbell is NOT real time. If you forget to disarm the system and open the door, you get an alarm in the house, then nothing. No call from police, fire nothing. Yes, the chime tells you when the door opens - that is it. By the time I get on my phone, look at the door, whoever was there is long gone. WHAT A SHADY COMPANY. BUYER BEWARE. Had ADT for years. I bought a new touchpad display from ADT thinking I'd like a 'smart' home. Nightmare! Bought $200 in batteries and replaced them all NEEDLESSLY. STILL alarms going off all day and night. ADT sends guy out who wants to change all batteries again. Called ADT wanting service cancelled. They refused - unless I paid a crazy ass cancellation fee - to make matters worse I had a NEW 2-year service contract. They don't tell you this when they make you sign the box on their mobile phone that you're committing yourself to a new contract. ON TOP, they advertise a "SATISFACTION GUARANTEE". They refused to honor their guarantee, until they send another service guy to try to rectify the issues. Again, guy comes by, spends 5 hours there, spent another $215 but was supposed to rectify the problems. NOPE! 3:30 AM last night ANOTHER ALARM is going off. Spoke to ADT AGAIN today - THEY CALLED ME to "resolve the issues with ADT". LAUGHABLE. I told them about the continuing problems. ADT still - STILL - would not honor their guarantee. SO - paid $800 - stuck with equipment that doesn't work. Plus, a new service contract for Sht. Alarms going off all night. Sleep deprived!!! ADT is so shady and deceptive! Buyer Beware! This company engages in fraudulent billing activities. After years of having ADT service, which was generally expensive but otherwise satisfactory, I moved to a new state and called to cancel my service. The following month, I saw that I was auto-drafted for the next month and called the company to find out what happened. I was told that there was no record of me calling and cancelling. I thought that was very convenient for them, so I cancelled a second time and got the tech's name and a confirmation number. Lo and behold, the next month I was charged again. When I called this time, I was told that "it takes 30 days to cancel an account" and I was being billed for a month and a half after I cancelled because "that's how long it takes to cancel an account". Obviously, this is a terrible business practice and total nonsense. At no other time in my life have I ever cancelled a utility and been billed for the next month. Never. That's ridiculous. Plus, I'm sure if I didn't notice it, the same thing would happen every month for the rest of my life. At this point, all I can do is dispute the charge with my bank, file complaints with the Better Business Bureau, and warn other unsuspecting people on sites like this. What's worse, I get harassing calls and front door visits from ADT all the time trying to get me to sign back up, despite telling them each time that I have no interest. This has to be the worst security system in the United States. You would think because of their name and status that they would be a company you could rely on. Just the opposite, my system was installed by one of the rudest people I've ever met. On top of that, the system never worked properly since day one. I've had to call several times for service because the system wasn't working at all. They scheduled an appointment for a service technician to come here between 1:00pm and 5:00pm. At 4:55pm I received a phone call saying they were unable to make it to this appointment so they scheduled another appointment for 3 days later also between 1:00pm and 5:00pm, again I get another phone call at 4:55pm saying they would need to re-schedule again. By that time I had given up with ADT Security and asked that they cancel my contract with them because they could not supply me with the service promised. They refused and gave me a very hard time until I told them my next call would be to my attorney. They eventually agreed to cancel my 2 year contract and was told I would receive a full refund on installation and service. I was told I would see the credit on my credit card within 5 to 10 business days. One month later I'm still waiting for that credit. I called again today and was told basically the same thing, it will take several days for credit to be issued. Whatever you do, do not sign a contract with ADT. I would avoid them completely and go with another company. I changed to Xfinity and I've never been happier. The service is great and it has a lot more to offer such as free thermostat adjustment and powering up electrical devices such as lighting from your cell phone at no charge at all. I had a house fire in December of 2021. Everyone made it out safe. ADTs smart smoke detector worked as it should and alerted my phone as well as physically went off. I had an ADT rep call within moments. As far from a technical side - OK. Support is a completely different story. This is my first, and hopefully last, house fire. There were a million things I had to deal with. Thankfully my insurance team was on the ball and great to work with. I called ADT early January of 2022 to let them know I would need replacement equipment as mine was heavily damaged from the fire. They stated they would replace it - But I had to buy all new equipment. Seriously? This should have been the first and only red flag of how this was going to play out. I paid for the $899 original package of equipment that had been destroyed. They were telling me since I paid it all upfront that I would have to pay for everything again.. I reached out to my insurance company (Bless SafeCo Insurance) and they covered the replacement cost of the equipment and install. I credited that to my ADT account so that was one thing off my list to worry about. I also talked to my local ADT rep and multiple people in the billing department to ensure I would not be billed until I was back in my house. Fast forward to March. I notice 3 additional ADT charges were taken out throughout the last couple months.. My monthly payment that had been agreed to not be taken out until I was back in my home with functioning equipment. I immediately called my local rep, ADT customer service, even local managers. I think I wasted 8 hours of my life between the wait times on the phone and getting the same run-around-stories. I finally called my bank (shout out to PNC). I asked them to stop any charges ADT tries to pull from my account. I even had them put in charge back disputes for the additional months ADT charged me after the fire. I got 2 of the 3 monthly charges back, better than nothing. I received my April bill from ADT in an email then an error email stating they couldn't charge my account. HA I WON! Just kidding. Remember the money my insurance reimbursed me for new equipment and install? ADT started pulling from that as it was sitting as credit in my ADT account. I started typing this as I was on hold with ADT getting this sorted out. I called the local rep and manager twice getting "I am on PTO" and "I am working on this" same BS different day. I called the finance line 1-866-656-8883. I now have a paper check being mailed to me for the full amount my insurance originally gave me. It should be here in 7-10 days so let's all cross our fingers. I requested a confirmation number or email and they told me they don't provide those. Please don't be total ass-hats ADT. If you are still with me, ADT thank you for protecting myself and the individuals in my home the morning of the fire. I am glad your equipment works properly. ADT you are greedy and corrupt. I am not sure how you have been in service for +100 years with the trickery your company pulls. I am extremely disgusted with the lack of care I have received. We have been with ADT Pulse Video for 4 years now and we decided to find out how much would it cost to add a thermostat to the system. I called 3 time and each offered an extra camera and light control and lower our monthly rate if we signed up for a 24 month contract. Each time I had to call my girlfriend with these options and on the 3rd call we were offered the Nest thermostat free but without the extra camera and light control. So after talking to my girlfriend we decided to go with the Nest thermostat so I make the 4th call and this time the person says the other 3 people were all wrong? She said she understood my frustration? WHAT????? This person said I needed to cough up $250.00! How can 3 out of 4 be wrong. So my girlfriend calls and this time, that persons on the same page as the 4th? So I fill out a complaint form on the website and some local dealer calls wanting $250.00. We're now looking for a new security system. You people shouldn't promise something you can't deliver. read more

Buyer, beware! I have had ADT security for my home for many years. When the system has technical issues (and it will) ADT will not be there for you. It will take them a week to come out and fix your system. They do not care about you after the system is initially installed. Their phone support is designed so that they can not assist you, only make an appointment for you, a week later. I am once again incurring fines from the police who keep coming to my home do to false alarms. The one star is for actually answering the phone after 10 minutes on hold. You don't even deserve that. Find ANY other alarm company in your neighborhood, ADT customer service is deplorable. read more

If I could give negative stars I would. Run as far as you can from this company. They stood me up three times in a row to install a new sensor. They could never locate my appointment or account when I called. They kept me on hold MANY times for over an hour trying to resolve the SAME sensor problem. So many hours of my life wasted on lousy customer service. Five thumbs down. read more

Billing department refuses to give credit after they continued processing payments by ACH for 10 months after I sold my home. I was a good customer for 8 years and 3 months, paying up to $60.31 for residential services. But I sold my home in March 2020 and they continued billing me through February 2021 by processing automatic ACH payments from my bank account. When I noticed in January 2021, I notified them and they processed the cancellation. They still billed me one last time in February. Now they refuse to credit the 10 months of billing, even though I have given them proof that the sale was completed in March 2020 and that I have lived there for over 1 year now. read more
