The customer had bought a piece of jewelry worth over $5,000 and it didn't fit the person who was to wear it, as it was too small to go around. They brought it in within a few days time to see if it could be exchanged for something that did fit the person. The owner let them know in no uncertain terms that they could not exchange or return it and suggested they gift it to someone else who it would fit (a $5,000 plus fine jewelry gift!) The owner told them they shouldn't have bought the item in the first place (instead of thanking them for shopping with them). It was honestly shocking to me that they were unwilling to find a piece that would fit the person instead. I left the store with a bad taste in my mouth and have no desire to go back to what used to be my favorite store. Just so disappointed and shocked by the experience.
