Lofts at Navicent - The wide entrance to my apartment. Walking in, the W&D would be to your left behind closet doors, with closet space and storage.

I relocated to Macon, GA to complete a fellowship at a nearby hospital, so the Lofts at Navicent…read moreappealed to me in many ways. I was always working, so the in-unit W&D, cable/wifi ready, valet trash services, etc. were what sealed the deal for me. Those little things that I didn't have time to do myself allowed me to focus on my career. I find it difficult to rate 5 stars for anything, as nothing is perfect, and there is always room for improvement. I was one of the first residents to move into the building during the summer of 2017. For this review, 4 stars is warranted, and I will share my thoughts below. Initially, I was pleased with the customer service I received, but there were some major hiccups with one of the previous Property Managers, Kaeleigh C. Kaeleigh's behavior was unprofessional to the extent that she berated me to another coworker INSIDE my apartment, which my home security footage caught. I still have the footage, btw. I don't care if you insult me outside of work or in the leasing office, but do not disrespect me or violate my privacy IN my home. In my opinion, Kaeleigh was in over her head, and dealing with doctors/lawyers/etc. is not where she would excel. I say this as a clinical psychologist, too. I immediately reported this to the highest in charge, after intentionally being given the incorrect information by Kaeleigh. I was very impressed by the way the situation was handled (Kaeleigh was not involved in the process), and she was fortunately assigned to another property). This was not the sole issue that arose pertaining to Kaeleigh's inability to function in this type of position or environment, but it was the issue that stands out most in my mind, and I believe the public should be aware of the types of people they let enter their homes, their private spaces that should not be the subject of unprofessional banter. On the other hand, Alex P., far exceeded the new position that she assumed when Kaeleigh left. Alex was on point, she had excellent communication scales, and she made my time at Lofts at Navicent much more pleasurable. As for the building, it is/was brand new, and I do believe the floors are too thin, and the building is a bit "too pet friendly." Noise, voices, animals, television, etc. can be heard from down the hall. I was in the corner, floor-to-ceiling windows, unit, and I could feel the resident in the apartment below me walking around in her apartment, as my floors vibrated. I could also hear everything. I am used to living in real lofts with other types of noises, but aside from expressing my concerns, not much could be done. I would have been more upset if a baby lived near me (no offense, new caregivers). Overall, I did enjoy my time at Lofts at Navicent, and I would recommend to those who are comfortable with the aforementioned quirks of the building.

I have lived at this apartment community for nearly five years, and unfortunately, my overall…read moreexperience has declined significantly over time. I understand that older apartment complexes come with maintenance issues, and I've always tried to be reasonable when things happen. However, throughout my time living here, I have experienced recurring water leaks year after year. While issues can happen anywhere, the ongoing challenge has been management and accountability. Most of the time, I have had to strongly advocate for myself just to receive updates on maintenance requests. Communication has consistently been an issue, especially during situations involving water leaks. Getting a simple status update is often difficult, which becomes extremely frustrating when your home is being affected. With rental prices continuing to increase, the quality of service and responsiveness has not matched the cost. For the price being charged, I would expect clearer communication, quicker follow-ups, and stronger accountability when problems arise. There have also been multiple occasions of mass water outages lasting several hours at a time. Management has stated that improvements were made by installing valves so only certain buildings would be affected instead of the entire complex, but I cannot personally confirm how effective this has been. The property is now under new management, and there is a new property manager. I truly hope improvements are made moving forward, but I would encourage anyone considering moving in to ask detailed questions, especially given the price point. I will be moving out and wanted to share my experience as a fair warning for future residents. This community is now called The Grove at River Place, formerly known as The Madison.

I absolutely love it here! The neighborhood is very safe, my apartment is very quiet and peaceful…read more(building 1), and people around here are very nice and are often outside walking their dogs. It really feels like home and has a great sense of community. The location is perfect, too; it's right in between Arkwright and Riverside, so I'm only five minutes away from tons of grocery stores, restaurants, and shopping destinations. The maintenance team is also on point. I've put in a couple of maintenance requests and my issues have always been resolved by the end of the day. The office staff is absolutely wonderful as well! Summer, Taylor, and Gabrielle are incredibly friendly and helpful. Back when I was moving in, Summer helped me sell my old washer and dryer (my apartment's laundry room had a newer washer and dryer) by posting on the Facebook page and contacting residents she knew were in the market for washers and dryers. The front office also hosts monthly events for the community, like pizza parties and murder mystery dinners. For me, it's important to live at an apartment complex where I can rely on the management to be responsive, and The Grove has really exceeded my expectations in that department. Also, both the gym and the pool were renovated a couple of months ago, and they look great! The pool has some nice stonework with a pretty little waterfall, and there even a couple of grills by the poolside. There's almost always someone at the pool, especially on the weekends. The front office gives out free popsicles on Saturday (and I've seen signs that they also give out free donuts and coffee when rent is due, but I pay my rent online so I cannot confirm this). The gym is open 24/7, but in my experience, it's hardly ever used. This works in my favor because there's always a treadmill open for me! The gym contains two treadmills and basic equipment for weights. The temperature is kept on the cool side, which I greatly appreciate! The only downside is that you might find this gym to be deficient if you're someone who likes to lift weights. If so, there's a Planet Fitness five minutes away with very reasonable prices and a huge selection of weight machines. Anyhoo, that just about sums it up! It may not be luxury living, but I couldn't be happier with the location, the price, the quality, the amenities, and the people!
