New kids are often bullied, w/no accountability. They R deceiving regarding 'bible' class. There isn't one. It's 'Logic,' disguised as 'bible.' Moving on. In the beginning, Sheryl came 2 me & offered me until May 2pay when I was 2 recv an ITR, (as I'm a single mom of 3 special needs children on a limited income). However; she sent me an email in April threatening to turn me into collections. I reminded her of her offer & things were ok, or so I thought. When May came, I reached out to her to let her know that due o the COVID19, I had lost the income I was relying on & inquired on any assistance that might be avail 2 those in need. Her response,"I already turned it into collections." ...May wasn't even over w/. So where is Christ in all this? The actions & attitudes of this place speaks volumes.

The student body is a little hard to pin down; this is not a school where jocks and cheerleader-types rule...individualism reigns. Groups are less discrete with a lot of blurring of the lines. If there are divisions, they're more academic, with the college-bound kids knowing each other from class, and the same for the less-academic kids. One reason for BHS's success is the culture in the elementary and junior high schools that feed into it. These kids come to BHS knowing that making good grades is not uncool and what they should be doing to earn them.

IACS is a fantastic school offering arts of all kinds to students in the valley. From an all girls…read moremariachi, folkloric dance, traditional dance teams, to ceramics, drama, choir, and instruments of all kinds. There is something for everyone. The school has taken swift initiative to reduce bullying and discourage disruptive behavior. In 2023 they secured a grant to offer clubs to students in a variety of specialties (yoga, chess, robotics, photography, cheer, hydroponics etc) these clubs allow students to attend after school programs keeping them engaged and busy! If you are looking to join a school that is growing, and will collaborate with you to develop your child. I highly recommend IACS, they match your effort and are a school to watch over the next serval years (as big developments come to fruition). If you are looking for an "alternate" school due to behavioral issues, suspension, etc. this is not the place for that, UNLESS you are ready to put in the work of getting your student back on track. The best alternative school in Canyon County is Elevate if that is a good fit for your students at this time.
