My husband also sees Dr. Douglas (we almost never go together due to work schedules) and my husband has similar experiences. The staff here is great and the office runs efficiently. Dr. Douglas runs on time. I've never had a wait. My husband is typically a difficult stick. The phlebotomist here is awesome and always gets him on the first time. Dr. Douglas is kind and takes a real interest in you, not just as a patient but as a person. Dr. Douglas is a huge dog lover and has photos of his dogs in the exam rooms. It's a nice touch so that the office feels less sterile and more welcoming. It's also nice to get a glimpse into his hobbies/ outside interests. That way you see him not just as your doctor but as a human. Overall I highly recommend Dr. Douglas. He is a wonderful PCP. You want someone who takes the time to listen and gets to know you as a person. The location is convenient for me but even if I lived a little further away, I'd drive the extra distance for a good doctor.

One of the things I most appreciate about Dr. Douglas is how prompt he is, so if an appointment is at 2:30pm as an example, you can betcha that a few minutes later, Dr. Douglas will stroll into the consulting room. I also like that he is through, keeps up to date with the latest medical research and offers genuine, logical solutions that work best for your individual circumstances rather than whatever the latest fad is. She's fine but, like many of her medical generation, pretty locked into pharmaceutical solutions. It would be nice to see more of the younger docs start to open their eyes about integrating general health practices with the easy pill answer. She is knowledgeable and well-trained, but patronizing and condescending. Like all the docs, she wants you in for the co-pay (no phone referrals), but not for long conversations so she can process through to the next patient. Not her fault, perhaps, as the health system makes that the way she has to operate to make money, still it doesn't leave you feeling "cared for."

They asked me what my insurance is and I told them Medicare. To my surprise, they do not accept Medicare patients. Tell me, why is she practicing in Florida? where a large population of people is on Medicare. She obviously is not practicing because she has patient concerns, rather to fill her purse.

I personally found her to be a bit pretentious the times I've gone to see her. The appointment that put me off was the appointment I showed up I believe 5-10 minutes late. I'm obviously aware it's best to show up for appointments on time, as they have a schedule to maintain, but it is not their job to remind me, not ask me why I'm late 3 separate times, by 3 different people. First it was the receptionist (a teen -- younger than me so that was off-putting) who made sure to tell me I was late while I was checking in. Then the nurse who saw me before Dr. Seth made sure to note "You know your appointment was at xyz & you're late." Yes... I know. Thank you. Then Dr. Seth herself asked me WHY I was late. Are you kidding me? I found it to be absolutely ridiculous & unprofessional. It only needs to be said once, if any at all. So please make sure you're not late, as you will get castrated. Another separate occasion was when I needed to see a specialist for knee pain (which I had seen previously before Seth). Mind you, this specialist did not need a referral from any doctor in order for me to make an appointment, but Dr. Seth insisted I come see her beforehand. Probably cause she wants her copay. Just to reconfirm my knee should be looked at again. Okay.
