I've been a long time customer and always had a service contract. Things operated like a top for…read moremany years, but it all seemed to start going downhill about a year ago. Carol used to answer the phones and she would proactively call me during each spring and fall for the regular tuneup. She always scheduled the appointments on days where she knew a tech was going to be in the area. It never took more than a week or two to schedule an appointment. Usually it was a few days. On a couple occasions it was same day or next day. Then last fall I realized I never got the call from Carol and it was late fall. I called to schedule an appointment and they were booked a few weeks out. The appointment day came and went and nobody ever showed up. Turns out one of the techs died. So I tried to set up another appointment and they made me wait a few more weeks. By the time the tuneup happened, the heat had already been in use for weeks. I figured maybe they were just having a rough time dealing with the death. This spring I again received no call to remind me about the tuneup. When I called, I had to wait over a month for an appointment. The way I see it, it doesn't really matter how good the service techs are if this is how they treat contract customers. After they came for the spring tuneup, I decided not to renew the contract. They clearly don't have their act together anymore and I've lost faith that they could ever address an issue promptly. If it takes over a month to do a tuneup, I don't even want to know how long I'd have to wait to have them fix an actual problem. As for the tuneup service itself, it's generally very good, although lately, I find them trying to upsell me on gadgets and stuff for my central AC. They are professional, wear the booties to avoid getting the carpet dirty, and they've been using a tablet computer to do the payment, which is worlds better than how they used to do it all by hand. Still, I just can't get past the weeks of waiting for an appointment. I'd expect them to have resolved any staffing issues by now. I think I'm going to try another outfit in the fall.

At my request, they came to assess a clogged vent on my boiler but instead of fixing it, wanted me…read moreto replace the entire system. Since the visit was diagnostic only, and probably because I refused to replace the system, they could only come back to fix my clogged vent in two months said the rude woman from their office. So my family and I would be without heat until December. The person that came to my house was extremely pleasant and professional but thats where the value stops.

I've had a service contract with them for my Mini Splits and boiler/heating system for 2 years, the…read morecontract includes an annual cleaning, filter change for my boiler and for the Mini split a cleaning and discounts on repairs. For the Maintenance services, they were professional and I think they did a thorough job, however for actual repair work, their prices were outrageous compared to other HVAC service companies, for example, the technician said I need a new firebox liner for my boiler, he quoted me $3,500 about to open up the fire box, clean out the old liner and install a new one, he also said the whole system needed to be drained. He suggested I might be better off getting a whole new boiler and quoted me over $14,000 for a new boiler. I was sticker shocked and asked AI the average cost of replacing a firebox liner on a Burnham V85 boiler AI came back with a range of $300 to $600, I then called other local HVAC service companies and asked them, they call came with a range of 525 to 600 depending of if its a swing door, which mine was. I had another local company replace it for $550, cost of the linter was $179 and labor was about 380 to open the box, clean it out, reattached the oil feeder line and bleed the system. In conclusion, although their maintenance work was good and reasonable priced, they seem to inflate their repair work to compensate for the supposed discount of being on a maintenance contract. I had a small leak in a copper pipe, I was quoted 730, I had them do it, when I asked about the price, the technician showed me price sheet with the cost of each fitting replacement. A coupler was $80, a T connector was $150, an elbow was $125, - I thought those were pretty high for using Pro-press for each connection. He did a pretty good job, but I sure paid for it. On one maintenance call, the technician suggested that I replace my hot water holding tank as it was over 10 years old and had some rust around some fittings, I was quoted aboutt $7500 to replace a 40 gallon hot water holding tank, I called around, I got quotes from other local companies for about 2200 to replace with a thermopro glass lined water tank including all the fittings and a new thermo switch. I think Service Pro was replacing with a more expensive Stainless steel of something more durable, thus more expensive.
