We decided NauticStar was the boat we wanted after exploring other manufacturers. We scheduled a sea trial after we were preapproved for financing. After a trip back from the keys, my wife and I decided to purchase a NauticStar close-out model from another dealer in the keys after much thought and consideration and we cancelled our sea trial with Big Toy. The price was much cheaper than Big Toy could offer since the model boat was a year older than anything Big Toy had available. Any reasonable person would have done the same because it made financial sense. Out of courtesy, I contacted Big Toy and talked to the sales person we had worked with. He told me that Big Toy would not provide service to me since I purchased another boat from out of the area. I confirmed this with Brian, the owner. I reached out to NauticStar corporate headquarters and they provided no help. In fact, NauticStar had the courtesy to contact Big Toy to let them know I called and never returned my call. I cannot imagine any reasonable company would allow a representative of their product to treat their customer in that manner. Apparently, NauticStar does and Big Toy will refuse to service my boat nor provide any warranty work. I strongly suggest anyone searching for a boat to look not only at another boat sales center, but to look at another boat manufacturer all together. I cannot imagine anyone who purchased a Ford to be turned down by another dealer that did not receive the sale of a vehicle; they would probably lose the ability to sell the manufacturers product. I hope this is helpful for anyone searching for a boat.

It seems the different dept are separate entities and don't work together to meet the needs of the customer. With that said, however, I am writing now about my experience over the last 2 months with Thunder Marine. My wife and I recently moved to Apollo Beach to have water access and the desire to have a boat. We attended two Boat Shows and went back and forth between new and used. We met Seth at the Tampa show and he introduced us to the Nautic Star. We knew we wanted a deck boat but were also considering a pontoon. The Nautic Star looked to meet our needs but we had a lot of questions and a lot of specifics we wanted covered. The staff from ownership to financing and from service to sales all were very patient with us. We committed to a boat that would be transferred to Thunder Marine the day of the St. Pete Boat show since the inventory did not have exactly what we wanted. One of the important factors in buying was that Thunder Marine would do a delivery and a 20 hour service remotely in Apollo Beach. We have no way to trailer it back and forth so this would save us a ton of effort. They scheduled delivery at a convenient time and Seth took us for our sea trial. He went over all the features and made sure both my wife and I were comfortable with everything. There were several manufacture defects we noted and Seth assured us that they would be addressed at the 20 hour service. By May, we had exceeded our 20 hours and were more than satisfied but were still concerned about the warranty issues. However, the service team made sure to work with our schedule and committed to picking up our boat, returning it to Thunder Marine and delivering it back to us after the service and warranty repairs. The decision to do this rather than service at our house was made due to the details of some of the warranty issues - all minor. I was more than impressed at the courtesy of the driver on both the pick up from our house and the return after the repairs. He even met me at the dock to load and unload the boat. When we got it back, all defects were replaced and the service was completed on time. The service department even text me with updates for pick up, the service process and the return. All in all, the entire process and the continued customer service efforts made posting this review an easy decision. We may not be a returning customer for a few years but when we are ready to shop again, I will trust the Thunder Marine team.

We opted for a 24' deck boat- probably less than 2 years old- with Yamaha 250hp outboard. Nice Bimini top for shade; plenty of room for the 6 of us (could easily accommodate 8) clean boat, friendly, helpful staff. They offer smaller boats but our full day rental cost $450 plus tax, plus 12 gallons of gas we used. Great bay waters and we ventured into the gulf as well as several sand bar Sunday groups. Thankfully found Tierra Verde Marina with better location, price and $.50 a gallon fuel discount. If I had not called in February, boat would have arrived with nowhere to store it.
