This store is very strange, of course, it is being a Real Madrid store in Barcelona, when it comes…read moreto football, Barcelona and Real Madrid are arch rivals, perhaps to a greater extent than Barcelona and Espanyol, and Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, the cities are so far apart, the length of a flight time from here to Madrid could be longer than Manchester to Paris, just under 400 miles separate this city, making Manchester to Calais closer, which is going from the north of England to France, which shows the immense difference. The fact of the matter is, this shop only appears to tourists and in a way Real Madrid are aiming towards their worldwide, rather than loyal and perhaps more "true" fan-base with this location, so that is certainly interesting. The store mainly sells Real Madrid merchandise, such as shirts and even some from the Spanish national football team as well, there also are seats similar to what the players and manager would sit on at the Bernabeau in the middle of the store, which is quite a cool way to have seats in your store, but not original as most clubs tend to do it, such as my favourite club, Manchester City. Overall, this store seems okay in the unlikely event that someone in Barcelona would want Real Madrid merchandise, but still it is a smart move by appealing to tourists more than supporters yet stil as a football fan it's hard for me to understand the location, but the store in general is okay, perhaps with a small selection and slightly below average in general, hence earning a two star rating.

Since it was Spain's huge sale season right now (Dates after January 6 to the end of the winter season) I was able to find some goods at pretty nice deals -- half the store goods were discounted! While I was able to catch some good finds, I found some other prices to be the multiple of what they'd be in the states. For example, I could get hand warmers in the states for about 40 cents each whereas here they were 5 euros, or about $5.50 in dollars. Also, I didn't find the sports clothes to be the trendiest, but perhaps that was because all major stores in Spain are left only with the remnants of their winter collection around this time frame.

But they have a really good selection of the top brands (Brooks, Saucony, Adidas, Nike, K-swiss and so on), in running shoes. Also they have running gear from the same brands, nutrition and GPS gadgets. They will perform a gait analysis if you don't know what type of runner you are. Depending on that they will start showing you different models. Last time I went there I tried 6 pairs. I finally went home with the second one, the brooks adrenaline 14 (not the latest model, but the one that felt more confortable). Price could be better, but I guess you are also paying the service you are getting. As I said the staff is really helpful and they are also runners (and good ones, not mid packers as I am).

We talked for probably 20 minutes or so, he made us literally any t-shirt we wanted, and did it with a smile no matter how complicated our order got. He said our shopping there makes him happy as it gets hard sometimes, and we completely understood where he was coming from. If there's one place to take your business and spend some money, it's here. And it's not a huge tourist street at all, so you'd probably miss the street if you weren't looking for it. We spent over $150 USD, and got super fun t-shirts, sweaters, some magnets, and he even gave us 5 free postcards. We really loved the owner and his shop. 10/10!
