Decent Mexican food for Germany. We had Agua Frescas for our drinks. Nice and refreshing. The nachos we good, a little thick for my taste. Ordered the tomato salsa, no spice, but decent flavor. In my personal opinion, this is a very German version of Mexican food. We ordered Nachos with Tamatllo-Chipotle Salsa for an appetizer, which the waitress warned us would be spicy - to a Californian this what what we would feed our kids. The price is 5.50€ for nachos with a dipping sauce - the nachos cost 2.50€ ( fine) but the sauce is a tiny ramekin for 3€!!! Not worth it. So we were nervous about our entries. We got a Quesadilla and pulled pork tortillas. Quesadilla was good (4.50€) and tacos were not to my liking (8.50€) but my boyfriend liked them. They had a pineapple glaze which I did not like at all. In comparison to the surrounding places, that amount of food for the price is not good. With an appetizer, 2 entrees, and 2 drinks, we paid 30€ and left hungry. For 30€, you can get two good sized meals and a few drinks at many other locations. Quality wise, we did not find it to be anything special. For one of the only Mexican places in Heidelberg, I have to say I am disappointed with the lack of heat and flavor that makes Mexican food really special. The atmosphere was nice- big rooms with lots of space. The skylights in particular makes the space spacial. I do have to say, the severs was very nice and attentive. She left us alone but always seemed to be nearby. Ps- we got a small bowl of water at the end with what looks to be two large pills. Turns out they are wet naps. It's not real authentic mexican food because they mixed in some spaniard cuisine but it's oki. It doesn't taste bad it's decent. A few errors occurred though: - the menu was written in 3 languages - they sell burritos which isn't mexican at all it is more Californian - they also sell burgers which isn't mexican at all - the tortilla wasn't made from scratch - starters are kind of over priced if you keep in mind that there is a two euro different from just plain nachos to nachos with salsa Positive things about this venue: - the inside is very authentic and very warm and welcoming - it's decent food and filling - the churros were very crispy and super delicious Conclusion: It's a rather pricey for the amount of food you get on your plate. read more

We were apprehensive to try based on all the other poor reviews, but we were pleasantly surprised! Yes, it was somewhat pricey for the dips, but the guacamole was good and the chips were hot and NOT stale. It's definitely not Tex-Mex or the beloved Mexican food Americans are used to, but it had great flavors. The carne asada burrito was great. The beef was tender and the meat was SO tasty and flavorful. I could still taste the marinade. My husband had the fish tacos, and they were not your classic Tex mex fish tacos, but they were delicious! Give it a try if you're looking for some sharp flavors! read more

The worst baked nachos and the worst guacamole we have eaten in our lifes. We love Mexican cuisine and we have eaten in many mexican restaurants but never experienced such uneatable food. We left without ordering the main dish. Don't go there, better take a kebab. read more

The atmosphere is cool. The food is okay, but way overpriced. If you have ever had real Mexican food, you will be disappointed. None of the meals come with rice or beans as a side, in fact they do not serve rice or beans. Most Mexican joints in Cali will give you all you can eat tortilla chips and sauces; here you have to pay, which would be okay, but not considering what you get: a fairly sized bowl for €2,50, but the chips takes like cardboard. The kicker is in the sauce. A tiny portion of it costs €3!!! I know it's house made, but really? Just down the street, "Die Kuh die lacht" also makes all of their sauces in house, and they all cost €0,50 for the same amount. Lemonade was nothing spectacular, just super sweet. Two-cheese Quesadilla was decent, but once again not worth the price: you can do the same if not better from the comfort of your home, provided you've cooked before (: Pulled Pork Tacos were probably the best dish from what we've ordered. The pineapple salsa was a nice touch, albeit a bit too sweet. Overall it was a disappointment. If you've never had Mexican food, you will likely enjoy this restaurant's dishes, but if you've tasted Mexican before and have an expectation of what it should be, this restaurant will not meet it. On the bright side, the staff was nice and just the right amount of present. We may come back one day to try something else, but we will not be ordering the three dishes mentioned above again. read more

We were 4, 3 ordered the same thing and I ordered a beef burrito (on the waiters recommendation). My guests all got their meals, after a couple of minutes I asked where mine was. Another five minutes passed before they came back to say that " it would be a few minutes ". Ten minutes later my fellow guests were done and no meal in site for me. I finally cancelled the order and ate somewhere else. You would think that since the waiter recommended my meal that he would have remembered it! Would not recommend this place. read more

Let me Taco about Adelita's, it was a bustling Saturday night direct on the Hauptstraße and a dinner meet with friends, Mexican was on the menu, so cue taco time. We arrived with no reservation but the place is plenty large enough to cater for this, we were seated immediately at a large table in the back which already had some people on it, I don't mind sitting with strangers as I think in enhances the experience so be prepared to be seated with others if coming with no reservation. Service was prompt, attentive and jovial with some humor for good measure, drinks were ordered, beer, margarita and house made juices, the drinks themselves take a while to come to the table arriving halfway through entree but all drinks are of good quality. Beer selection could be better and I would suggest bringing in some more Mexican focused beer as apposed to the normal German lagers. Margaritas are slightly too icy but a good sting from tequila. Entree consisted of house made nacho crisps with two sauces (guacamole and tamarind) and pulled turkey cheese fries, these came out from the kitchen after roughly 15mins which was a good turn around considering how busy the place is, the nacho crisps where great, well seasoned and super crispy, the accompanying sauces where well matched to smear on top the crisps, guacamole needed a bit more salt but that's all. The turkeys cheese fries are interesting and could be a great kids meal if a few greens came with it and without the chillies, I like chillies so was happy there was a good dose of chillies on top. The pulled pork also slightly under seasoned but the salt from the fries certainly made up the difference. These two entrees where enough to feed four happily for starter. Mains consisted of Tacos and Tortas, the tortas was filled with pastrami nicknamed "Mexican" not sure what's Mexican about pastrami but it was good, peppery and chewy and a great mouthful, it was well combined between two slices of house made breads and greens to match. The Tacos are good, wrapped with two maize taco shells to avoid breakage and there's three on the plate, so a decent size for the price, the only let down with the tacos was that they where missing ingredients one was missing it's frischkase the other missing it's coriander, sad as these two things really would have completed the tacos however when questioned the missing items where delivered to the table immediately in a separate bowl so a good recovery from service and kitchen combined. The decor of the place is modern and hip with a brick feature wall wooden look floors and plenty of dangling light bulbs to create a dim lit experience almost cave like feel, even the cutlery matches the Mexican design, although such a large place the noise is loud but again to be expected with so many people in a room. Overall experience is good of Adelita's and I will probably return and would recommend for a first time visit. The only side note I will add is that this is the third time I have been here as had to experience the whole menu and the first time was rubbish, service was bad and food was even worse, second time was better but still lacking service, third time was wonderful service and food was good and well prepared. I'm looking forward to fourth visit to see how they can improve. Three stars because of the first two visits however they could earn four stars with a bit more attention to detail, service and food prep. Also would be nice to have some Mexican rise dishes for variety but can see that the focus is on the taco / hand food experience. read more

I have traveled all over, and rarely will you experience so much value for money... first of all, it is truly tasty.... and the amount of food... my girlfriend and I ordered the mix platter with, as explained, a little bit of everything on it..... the thing was... it was in no way a little bit.... we were completely done.... so awesome... oh... and please don't rob yourself of the best Frozen Margaritas I have ever tasted.... read more
