A small boutique agency that really toes the extra mile. Sue was so nice to work with, she really kept me in the loop every step of the way. I met her in person at the office. The process was easy. I love that they use ADP and I can electronically put in my hours from home or at work. I'm not sure of the prior experience of a prior disgruntled employeewith her issues with pay but my experience is you get your hours in by the deadline, you get paid on time. If you don't, you have to wait until the next pay period. I've never had any issues with my pay from them but I always report on time and they send a nice reminder out to you as well! The only negative is that they don't offer benefits for a temp assignment but I was converted quickly to a perm employee so I have benefits via the company.

Either Bridge neglected to inform the site or the site was unwilling to accept my need to take a day off. I was fired. The problem is that Bridge acted like it was MY fault. The person at Bridge first stated that training wasn't going well (that was a lie; training was fine), then said my attendance was subpar. For missing one day. That I had told them about prior to starting. Now, Bridge doesn't seem to care about staffing me anywhere else. It was a big waste of my time applying there.

I can honestly say that I wouldn't be where I am today if it wasn't for Lakeshore. I'd tried other…read moretemp agencies but was never treated as well and with such personal interest as I was at Lakeshore. I've been a temp for two different periods in my life. One was over six years ago. I temped for them for over a year through many different assignments, and I was regularly given work. They knew I was reliable and they could count on me to treat the client as though I was extension of their company. That entire time I was looking for a permanent position, and they were able to get work for me regularly. Eventually a job opened up that was a great fit for my experience and where I wanted to go that happened to be at a company I had temped for previously. The company was filling the position through Lakeshore, and the company knew they like having me when I was a temp. So, I was a shoe in! I got the job, got experience, and got promoted into different positions within different departments. Flash forward five years. I find myself in a different job that eventually became a completely wrong fit for me. In December of 2009, I left that job with no plan other than trying to temp for work again. I called several connection and had called multiple placement and temp companies including Lakeshore. Two months later a job came up that Lakeshore knew was a good fit for me, and that I would be a good fit for the company. I was hired for the position after doing the job on a temp to perm position for a short time. Here it is a year later since I've been hired, I'm extremely happy to be in the job I am since it is still a great fit, and I love working there. I owe this to Lakeshore. There are a number of temp companies in Chicago. There are also A LOT of temps looking for work right now. Lakeshore sets themselves apart by the effort they take to find the right job for the right person and vise versa.

Fortunately, I used North Bridge to bring in temps for vacation coverage while at my previous position, so they were (naturally) the first place I called. Man, that was the BEST call to have made! Since that time, I have worked with Erin, Gerri and a few others for several years, filling many long-term temporary positions. I discovered early on that I didn't want to commit myself completely to another large company; I fell in love with the consistent positions that I was able to find in their opportunities. I have been able to diversify my portfolio of industries, ramp up my skills and hone in on the positions/roles that I excel in. Erin and Gerri took the time to truly get to know me, my personality, skills and my desires and they have been able to connect me with so many great opportunities. All of my recent personal development is 100% due to their amazing time with me and finding positions that match my needs/skills. I wish that they had an office in California so I could continue working with them. If I was not moving, I would continue to work with them. If you are not sure of where/what you want to work with, temp positions are perfect for you. North Bridge is the perfect place to start your journey. Thank you Erin, Gerri and the full NBSG team!
