IV take many classes here an IV always had a blast learning here I shot my first gun here.an I am pleased to say with the guidance I found here I was able to gain proper techniques and a strong foundation to really build on. The level 1 training experience was great and definitely considering further training from them. They have a wide range of class options and dates to pick from compared to other local training. Plus all the details are on their website. This class was for those with little gun experience but there were advanced shooters present to hone fundamentals. The excellent trainers knew how to keep pace with the class experience levels. The group felt more prepared to defend themselves by the end of the class. One of the best aspects of the class was to lecture a little and then immediately practice with demonstrations or shooting opportunities. These veterans not only know what they are talking about to survive a fight but also pay it forward to first responders and those currently in the military. Thanks again AFI!!! read more

What an incredible experience!!! I took the Adaptive Concealed Applications course and it was superb. Ryan, the owner, and Larry made the class informative, engaging, dynamic, and sheer fun. I learned a lot. The class was fast-paced yet the instructors made sure that every participant had ample time to understand techniques and practice. I was happy to be able to ask questions and received very detailed answers. Everything made a sense and I came out of the class not with just new knowledge, but also with a renewed enthusiasm to practice newly acquired skills and continue training. I am planning to take more classes at Adaptive Firearms Institute and definitely recommend their curriculum to anybody who is looking to improve their firearms skills and learn new things! read more

These guys are just amazing. My better half and I took the 6 hour beginning pistol class and and a wonderful (if slightly overwhelmed) time. Tons of information, lots of shooting time on the range broken up with mini-lessons and practice on more advanced topics like clearing malfunctions. Best of all the guys were unfailingly positive - everybody got help when they needed it and praise for what they got right. They get ten big stars - five from each of us - at the least. read more

The best you can get in training! Amazing training by Ryan at Adaptive Firearms Institute. I have never had this caliber of training, truly top notch in every way. Ryan, the owner and instructor has crazy skills and the intelligence to match. What a blessing to learn how our Special Operations, TRL's and elite Law Enforcement trains. Not too often you can walk away from spending 5 hours in training and say outloud "I can go 5 hours more". This class is a must for anybody that lives near Arizona! There aren't many civilian classes (focus is Militaryand TRL's), so book early. I strongly recommend if you're an experienced shooter to take AP2, if you are a beginner, AP1 is your course! The fact that I have 6 completion patches and certificates should be some indication of how great this training is, and whether it's worth coming back. You need to get out and have real-world training and live fire drills to challenge your skills and what you think you know. The team does a great job of providing good skills in a non-threatening and fun environment. Get out there and do it. My sister and I just took the Pistol 1 class and it was excellent. Thorough training with safety first. I really liked the realistic situational awareness and psychology of the fight that they covered, not just theory. They taught foundational skills to build on and emphasized practice, practice practice. Ryan and his crew were very professional and had a great sense of humor which made it a fun morning. They set expectations, explained everything so well and always took the time to answer questions and make sure everyone was keeping up. Professionally done. Well organized. The course instruction provides a solid basis upon which to build on. Start here if you intend to continue on with further instruction in order to become proficient in the handling of your firearm; or if you have just purchased, or intend to purchase, a handgun and wish to become comfortable handling it. Prior to attending this course of training at AFI I took another basic pistol course (mostly classroom instruction) and a CCW course, but those courses give you little grounding in the necessary skills required to safely and effectively handle your pistol. The training from AFI is truly first rate! I've trained in Oregon, Washington California, Arizona, Utah, etc. And, I'm an NRA certified Instructor. I travel extensively for a separate business/profession and participate in local training whenever it fits my schedule. This outfit just jumped to the top of my list (nationwide). They deliver a clearly goal oriented training program with proper discipline, excellent supervision AND FUN! The goal of today's class was to give participants the EXTRA knowledge and skills required to adapt and survive a gun fight. The instructors outstanding experience and training behind them. But, more importantly, they also have exceptional academic research they are "natural trainers" who obviously love what they doe and care greatly about their students.
