( I learned later that the female vet did not want me there because I was too emotional.) I didn't like this but I did it to help my dog. My normal vet clinic moved their location farther from my house, so I start searching for other clinics near me. My Bernese Mountain Dog had a red lump on his ankle that I wanted to be looked at, and he had two vaccinations that he needed updated. I completely understand that vet techs are working with animals that they do not really know, and want to keep their own safety in mind. However, I feel like the way they approach/handle animals and their communication can improve. Instead of asking my husband or I to have our dog sit, so they can look at his ankle... they came in the room (no instruction, no heads up, no anything) and immediately just started holding my dog down, choking him, and then when he started resisting (like any animal would, because you're literally causing it stress) then they decided to get a muzzle and restrain him even more. I was so baffled, I didn't really know how to respond. I just tried to comfort my dog and keep him calm. I was so genuinely confused as to why they didn't just ask me to show them his ankle. I've been to two vets in the past, Pet Guard Clinic in Massillon and Humble Creatures in North Canton and both of those vets have given my dog treats or simple ear scratches to distract him so they can look at him and/or give him vaccines. That tactic has always worked for my dog and I've always respected the past vet clinics who treated my animal with kindness, love, and made sure he was comfortable. I didn't appreciate how West Side Animal Clinic didn't talk to my husband and I before wrestling our dog down, didn't even ask my husband or I to have our dog sit or anything... it was very aggressive and I definitely learned my lesson by not going to my normal clinic! On top of the aggression with my animal, the Dr. tries to make little subtle jabs at you and talk down to you--definitely something for him to improve on personally. Maybe then, they'd have more clients and wouldn't have so many openings. Other than that, I'm happy he got his shots updated and to hear that his red lump is nothing cancerous and will go away..

I had a beloved cat named Kimbo. I had had him since him since he was a kitten, and I was three and…read morehe was the sweetest cat in the whole world. At 16 he got very sick and we brought him in to the clinic to get him checked out. Everyone was so sweet and treated him with so much kindness. It was discovered that he had a heart murmur and he only had a few months left to live. The vets did everything they could until he decided to cross over the rainbow bridge. The vets let me and my wife stay with him as long as we needed to stay until we were ready to part. After his passing, they sent us the sweetest note card from the staff. My wife and I have now adopted two more cats and plan to bring them in for anything that they need. Would 1000% recommend them to anyone looking for a vet. They treat the pets like they are part of your family, because they are.

I can't call him a doctor - because of the way he treated her and abandoned her, when she needed help the most! First - Keller misdiagnosed my Xena, he let her live with cancer for 5+ years while she was in his care. He was explaining the growing lumps on her body as normal: fat tissue, build up tissue due to her aging (in his words).. etc. Second - when she started growing lumps in the breast area, a surgery needed to be performed. He recommended removing only one lump on her breast - because the rest of the lumps were "nothing to worry about" ,as he said. I insisted 3 biggest ones to be removed! The biopsy showed all 3 were cancerous tumors! After taking Xena to an oncologist, report showed that all the lumps on her body were cancerous tumors (at least 5 more). The report also showed that the surgery performed by Joseph Keller - was not done properly and needed to be redone!! All of these reports were sent to Mellett Animal Hospital. After that, when I tried to contact them - they were rude and were constantly lying to me that Keller will return my call. He never did call back! They just stop all communication, without a single word of explanation. They just dropped a cancer patient, because Joseph Keller couldn't face me - after all he did to Xena! My Xena would have died from cancer, if I didn't take her to a different Vet Clinic!! Stay away from this place!!!!!
