A previously solicited Contractor put us on his "wait list" and as time went by, it became obvious he was too busy with his "commercial jobs" that the "little guy's residential job" was not important to him. We searched again and found Caleb, and he has renewed our confidence in searching for local talent. As we walked the pond's bank with Caleb, we pointed out two seasonal stream beds that have fed the natural pond for decades, along with a recent trouble spot created by water being diverted to our land. A trouble spot that surely needed heightened consideration, due to excessive amounts of sediment and trenched scour that spewed into the pond's northern boundary during heavy rains. Eventually, the excessive inflow during a heavy storm blew through the natural dam and we lost two-thirds of our pond. However, Caleb changed all that. Caleb was up to the task and did an excellent job of redesign, clearing and revamping the landscape by removing the tons of overgrowth and sludge that took away our pond a couple of years ago. He and his crew took the time & care to do things right to give life back to our pond. We absolutely love the new, widened and strengthened Dam and the improved Inlets. After a long dry spell this year, the pond level is back up and has brought back the lost beauty of that part of our property.

With his help and my research, we decided on Behr Premium Semi-Transparent Waterproofing Stain and Sealer (It is supposed to last 6 years on horizontal surfaces. Hope it will.) Peter did an unbelievable job prepping the deck by pressure washing. We had a lot of mildew in the shaded areas and he took great care to get it all before sealing the deck. Our HVAC guy came that afternoon and thought we had a new deck. Peter's crew did a great job of the deck, the railings, and the support edges for the deck. Everything is smooth and the deck looks brand new. We have 8X10 rough cut lumber from an old cotton warehouse in Huntsville that is 150 Years old that we used 50 years ago when we built the house for beams and support on our front porch. The lumber really needed lots of TLC and it was lovingly provided to keep this piece of history alive for us.

I first called about my backyard wooden gate. I have a "kitchen door" type gate which allows me to open the top, put the garbage bag into the can in the alley for Friday pickup and not let the dogs out. It was beginning to sag and I was afraid I would have to have it replaced. The owner, Micah, looked it over and said he thought it just needed to be secured. He worked on the hinges and added a bolt to the bottom gate to support it and keep it level. He noticed that some of the nails in wooden fence itself were coming out and went back and secured them as well. I was very pleased with work he did. Micah is willing to do what you need -- a big job or just a small one! Since then, Ancient Path Handyman Services LLC have helped me with my back door, the gutters and a few other things.
