The job was supposed to start September 25. I was told they could not start because the municipality did not have the permit yet my husband went to the municipal building to see what the holdup was and was told the holdup was that the contractor did not turn anything in yet. When I told the contractor this all he said was hmm... I told him that I was concerned that we had given him a deposit, and I felt like I was getting the runaround as to when they were going to start and the check was cashed and that I was not happy. The job started October 2 the following Monday. At the end of the first day, I realized that they had not put the bubble wrap insulation on as we discussed, and were quoted, for. We were told by one of the workers that the company that makes the metal does not recommend insulation. I called the company and they said that's absolutely not true. They do recommend installation at that point. I called Jim and told him that it was not on, and we had asked for it, and was told it was an oversight, the next day they came and they took the few pieces off that they had put on and put the bubble wrap under the metal. After that the roof went on smoothly and looked good. They finished the roof up Wednesday and began the gutters on Thursday I feel that the last day they just slaped the gutters up in a hurry just to get the job done. The foreman did tell me that, he was not on job site that day he was at another job. The front gutter was very crooked and the trim around the roof was not even it was overlapped just looked very sloppy that was all fixed, except for one spot in the back the roof leaked in the same spot that it was leaking in, they come back a second time fix some of the uneven spots and the leak. The trim on the side of the porch is unfinished. I asked if they could finish with leftover metal and was told that they could not use the leftover metal and they would have to buy a roll of coil metal. That would be another hundred dollars or they could paint it, which I think would even look worse in my opinion, I was told they would fix a bent piece of soffit and facia. Every time I spoke with him I mentioned it and it was never done along with the unfinished trim on the porch roof. If they were good at their job, they would've noticed how bad it looks new trim abruptly ends., and then the old white siding is there the roof color is tan so it looks horrible. I definitely would not recommend them at least for gutters as there are places where the gutter does not meet flush with a soffit and facia, I called that their attention they blamed it on the uneven roof on the porch. However, the old existing gutter was flush against the porch. Also, job was finished October 4 half of the trash set here till October 22 turned grass yellow. read more
