Our spacious balcony room had beautiful vistas of the Rhein and offered plenty of space for my mom, husband and I to be comfortable and spread out a bit. The dècor was a bit 1980s, but it was very clean and well kept. There is an elevator, so no need to worry about being stationed on the 4th level of a 200-year-old building if you aren't able to use stairs. We seemed to have enough electrical outlets to get our cameras/phones charged up without taking shifts, so that was a nice bonus. The owners are an American man, his German wife, and their adult children who all help run it (I feel so bad I don't remember their names now!). They were so friendly (and fluent in both English and German) and full of advice and ideas for experience all of the lovely sights that Boppard and the rest of the Rhein have to offer. They are who sent us to the Sesselbahn and gave us detailed information about taking the KD cruise to our next destination instead of the train. The American loves to chat about the US too, so if you want to swap stories about home, he's certain to oblige! In the mornings, they have a fabulous German-style continental breakfast with coldcuts, cheeses, brötchen, sliced breads, soft boiled eggs, yogurt, müseli, butter, jams, honey, Nutella, and -- because there is an American in the house -- peanut butter (that made Gary a happy man!). They have your table pre-set with your dishes and such when you get to the dining room and they bring you your choice of tea, coffee or orange juice. The food is self serve, so you can get exactly what you want. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming here, and I just can't reiterate enough what a pleasure it was to stay here!

The KD river cruise line is just 20' from their feont door so that is super convenient. Train station just 500 m away. Within 100 m of several bars, bakeries, gift shops, and grocery store. Has an awesome indoor pool with jets so you can swim in one place. Also has jets to massage your legs and a fountain to massage your back. Sauna is fantastic. Steam bath present too. One of the best Beat Westerns that I have been to. And I have been to a lot.

We were asked to go one floor up then when reached the floor had to go down few steps on a very narrow cornered hall. We had a three beds ( triple) room. Beds were not comfortable. The room had wide window and we didn't realized was opened until later ( no wonder we were cold when we arrived). Bathroom has old amenities. Towels were short for a standard size. The hotel has in-house restaurant and we enjoyed the entertainment provided during our dinnertime. Food ( buffet) was alright, there was nothing spectacular. The way going to their restroom location which by the way was in the lower level was long and scary. The lobby was decorated with eye catching traditional German souvenir items. The Hotel is situated along the Rhein River which makes it an ideal spot for vacationers. The rooms were decent size for the budget allotted by the group tour we signed up for. It was tidy and relaxing. I docked points for the servers in the main restaurants which had zero personality and seem disinterested in their patrons. Not sure if it has something to do with us being tourists or this is their typical service.

Rooms are stuffy and hot and no window screens…read more Uncomfortable beds and worn pillows and thin walls and noises from parking lot and traffic due to having to leave the window wide open! They give you a small fan in a west facing room and don't offer to let you cancel your reservation and leave without penalty! Staff is rude and they don't care about your comfort, beer garden staff of no help and would rather you not be there!

In fact,the room we were allocated did not have a view of the river. When we complained, we were taken up many stairs (no lift) to a top floor room with a small window which did in fact overlook the Rhine. The hotel has a rather rundown appearance overall, and the staff were unhelpful. The breakfast however was good - the dining room was the most pleasant part of the hotel which we saw. The situation of the hotel is of course very good - in the centre of Boppard and on the Rhine Promenade but I don't think we would stay at this hotel again.
