My family is new to the area and we were highly recommended to Dr. Adams through a friend of his. We brought our 10-year-old dog in for a mass removal surgery. Shortly after the procedure, he developed panting, shaking, and a fever, so we brought him back to the office to be evaluated. Despite these symptoms in a senior post-operative patient, no diagnostic workup was performed -- no blood work, no X-rays -- and we were told to simply monitor him at home. Later that afternoon, I contacted the office again because he had worsened significantly. He was breathing heavily, refusing water, and still not improving. Once again, we were advised to continue monitoring him overnight and wait until the next day for blood work. That evening, his condition became critical and we rushed him to an emergency veterinary hospital, where he was diagnosed with bacterial pneumonia. After fighting for over 48 hours, he passed away. When I later asked Dr. Adams and the staff direct questions about why no diagnostics or treatment were done earlier that morning, I never received clear answers. The practice manager, Ashley, stated the matter had already been discussed and declined to provide further explanation. To this day, after asking multiple times, we still have not received a medical explanation for why a 10-year-old dog showing a fever, heavy breathing, and shaking after surgery was sent home without further testing. My dog was also administered a rabies vaccine while under anesthesia. We were never informed of possible risks or side effects, and I later discovered the vaccine manufacturer recommends waiting 2-3 weeks after anesthesia, especially in older dogs. Had we been informed of that recommendation beforehand, we would have declined the vaccine at that time. Additionally, antibiotics were originally listed on the surgical estimate but were ultimately not prescribed. I only discovered this after reviewing the final bill. When I asked why, I was told by Dr. Adams he "didn't think they were necessary." Since this happened, I have spoken with other veterinary professionals, including certified vet techs and staff at other hospitals, who agreed my dog should have received a more thorough workup when he returned with those symptoms after surgery. In my opinion, my dog's symptoms were not taken seriously enough, and the lack of urgency, communication, and proper evaluation cost him valuable time and ultimately cost him his life. I trusted this office with my dog, and I truly wish I never had.

It's like the worst day care you could have seen on the news where children are beaten, abused or otherwise mistreated. Is it possible to give them a negative review or have the SPCA do a welfare check?? A nightmare at best. It's like throwing your dogs into a wolves den. Our 11 lb Pomeranian was given back to us with a baseball size accumulation of poo. She screamed when we picked her up like she was being tortured. Colleen's comment, "oh, I didn't know". Understand me, do not under any circumstance ever take your precious pet there. Feel free to call me and I will tell you the truth. Most of the other reviews have to be fake. I will get them shut down if it's the last thing I do. No offer of a refund. Now we have to take them to court because of what the vet bill will cost. - awful, awful, awful. They now owe me a $215 vet bill and $423 in horrible care for my dog.

He is now permanently blind in one eye, which our vet confirmed was due to injury sustained while in their care. He also has a body infection, trauma to the inside of his mouth, and lost 1.5 lbs -- a significant amount for a 4.4 lb dog. There was no communication from the facility during his stay to alert me to any problems or injuries, and no explanation or accountability when I brought these issues to their attention. They are taking no accountability for what happened. My dog is not only physically hurt but emotionally distressed, and we are now left dealing with the aftermath, both medically and emotionally. This has been a heartbreaking and infuriating experience. I would never recommend this boarding facility .

Richard and De Pet Sitters Port Saint Lucie…read more There's absolutely no way under any circumstances that we could hold back and express our love, gratitude and appreciation for Port Saint Lucie Pet Sitters, Richard & De Green. We moved here about a year and a half ago along with our three elder pet chihuahuas whom we count as "family." Unfortunately, after a battle with congestive heart failure, last July, we lost our little Koko, we now have two... Cozy and Mickey. Mickey was diagnosed with an enlarged heart and although he's about 16 years old now he's doing overall pretty good according to his vet. What we are having a hard time controlling is his cough, but we have Faith and a steady schedule around the clock of medication. I travel across the country for work as a photographer and videographer and recently, I had a trip. Unfortunately, while away, my husband had a complication with what should have been a "simple" procedure. There was nothing simple about it however. Days after his procedure he had to return to his drs. office and eventually it worsened and he could no longer stay away from the Emergency Room. Then.....it happened! They admitted my husband! Keep in mind I'm clear across the country and now we have our two dogs at home, and Mickey on crucial medication. So, now I'm freaking out, but thankful that recently we had Richard and De pet sit our pups while we had a job in Palm Beach Gardens. Not only had I seen the plethora and amazing feedback here on Nextdoor, I myself witnessed the care in responding to potential seekers and their professionalism as well as courtesy. I immediately called them and to make matters even more wonderful, they live in our community! So, here I am frantic, across the country, in a different time zone and DESPERATE! The persons that popped up in my head .... Richard & De! I knew that at the time it was close to 3am in Florida and I dare NOT call them... however, I sent them a message via NextDoor and hoped they'd see it in the am. To my amazement, and at nearly 3am , they immediately replied! the first thing in De's response was "we will be there, how do we gain access?!" I was blown away!!!! Turns out they were at the airport themselves and were getting ready to go home. I can't begin to tell you the relief! The next morning they arrived at our home and immediately got to work with taking pups out and giving Mickey his meds. Because our pups knew them, they were comfortable and at ease, and so was mom and dad (while he sat in a bed at the hospital). Richard and De are the epitome of human kindness as God intended! They love to help and they love your pets I say this with 100% certainty and we could not have been blessed more abundantly. Major props too as they send text updates with photos! This is not just a fun gesture it is key because we all know our pets and we know even from an expression on a photo if they are at ease, content or otherwise. Our pups were at ease! And cozy was snuggling with Richard and De....Mickey was nice and not his usual grumpy self, that says a lot since he's never quite been a cuddler. I could go on and on but you will see many here love and rave about them! We are part of their cheering team and we have found THE BEST pet sitters and neighbors ! Please consider contacting them to come meet, greet with you and your pets and you will see what we mean! They also offer personal assisting with rides, errands and transportation, bottom line, they want to help in our community. Easily 5 !!! Highly recommended !!
