Well, I finally figured out the money aspect of things and scheduled an appointment to get my teeth worked on. I ended up needing two crowns and one or two root canals. Having never had that kind of work done before, and used to all the horror stories about how bad that kind of work is, I was prepared for the worst! I have to say, it was really EASY! They had music for me to listen to, communicated tremendously and thoroughly, and really put me at ease. Actually, I was truly amazed by the experience. There was ZERO PAIN, not even the initial numbing shots, and the whole thing was actually rather relaxing. I even fell asleep (to the point of snoring a little, I was told :-) a couple times! Throughout the whole process I was shown x-rays and photos of the work they were doing, consulted on every major step, and even SHOWN THE MACHINE MAKING MY NEW TEETH RIGHT IN THE OFFICE (really cool). I'm not sure what Vickie D. was talking about in her 1-star review, but my experience couldn't have been different than her's. I spent 3 1/2 hours sitting in the chair with Dr. Kirkpatrick and his tech working on my teeth and both smiled, laughed and joked the whole time. I even interrupted them more than a handful of times requiring them to remove all the stuff in my mouth and pause what they were doing and never once did they seem bothered, stressed or frustrated. There was even a moment when they were having difficulties getting the crown machine to work right (the blank wasn't fully seated or something) and I didn't detect any tension or frustration between them. All in all it was as peaceful of an experience as I could possibly have expected. The greatest part was that when I was done, my new, permanent crowns were in place and I got to continue life as before. They even sent me out the door with a care package that included not just mints, toothpaste, and a toothbrush but lunch, too. Who does that?!? I would recommend this dentist to ANYONE. My childhood was filled with nightmarish stories of tooth pain and seemingly uncaring dentists. As I've become older I avoided a trip to the dentist's office until I was absolutely forced to go. Some of my teeth were becoming loose and some of them were decayed beyond repair. I knew I had to do something! A former co-worker of mine brought a gift for one of my collections. The bag it came in was from Dr. Adam's office. I took the plunge and emailed his office with my thoughts and concerns. After several email exchanges I called the office and set an appointment. At the start of this initial visit my mind took me back to the agony of previous visits to a dentist. My heart was pounding almost bursting through my chest. My blood pressure was at a all time high! And this was just in the waiting room. Dr. Adam took me to a conference room and we discussed what I wanted from the visit. We created a plan for my dental future. I found Dr. Adam to be extremely attentive and eager to help me. As the visit progressed I became more and more aware of how relaxed I was becoming. Having people in masks and gloves reach into my mouth has never been the highlight of my day but this was different from every other time I had gone to a dentist. The office staff was particularly pleasing and happy to help. They did not treat me with temperment and disgust rather they treated me like they were genuinely anxious to help my situation. My comfort remained their top priority. I have had several subsequent visits on my road to renewed dental health. Dr. Adam has never let me down and continually impresses me with his ultimate professionalism, skill, compassion and knowledge. Three years ago I had a root canal done at a different Lebanon dentist. Suffice it to say, it cracked a few months after the procedure, but I was able to maintain okay. A few months ago, that same tooth finally gave up the ghost and practically cracked in half. I decided to switch dentists not only because of the shoddy job that was done, but I'd heard sooooo many excellent things about Dr.Kirkpatrick. Upon walking into his office, I was immediately put at ease (I have dentalphobia). His staff was super pleasant, there was a massage chair, bottled water, healthy snacks; just a wonderful atmosphere. We decided to pull the tooth. He not only did the procedure quickly, but was amazingly pleasant and assuring during it. When I got home, I changed my gauze, but didn't notice I had accidentally removed the healing clot. A few days later my face felt like it was giving birth I was in so much pain. I stopped by the office, but they were at a conference in Portland. They left their emergency number on the message line, so I called. Not only did his assistant call me from the conference, so did Dr. Kirkpatrick. He let me know to meet him at his office at 7 PM. He basically drove straight back to Lebanon, let me know it was dry socket, and ended my pain. He didn't even stop to visit with his family and have supper. He came right to help me...after hours...and no extra charge. A few weeks later I saw the Doc and his staff at The River Center for the Biz Expo. His staff was super glad to see me, and Dr. Kirkpatrick gave me a big ol' hug and was happy to see I was back to normal. I shall continue to see Dr. Kirkpatrick for all my dental needs. read more

Dr. Kirkpatrick is the most compassionate dentist I have ever met! I started going to see him about a year and a half ago and Dr. Kirkpatrick and his team truly make my day each day time I go in. Everyone is respectful, funny, and super knowledgeable. I recently had a root canal with Dr. Kirkpatrick and it was pain free! I couldn't believe it, I barely felt a thing! Not to mention, I got my crown made the same day and I got to watch their new technology custom make it! The team works as a unit, which is rare to find in this field. Everything runs smoothly and I know each person I talk with is truly working to make my experience enjoyable. Everyone is on the same page. When you walk into the office, they have their office goal written on the wall. In one of the lines, it is their goal to provide, "world class dentistry," and I firmly believe they have succeeded at that! I just recently moved back to the Portland area for a job transfer, and will miss seeing Dr. Kirkpatrick and his team in the office and around town. This office has become my new standard for how a dental office should perform and will be hard to live up to. I recently had an appointment with Dr. Adam and was very impressed. During my initial consultation he asked what he could do for me. I mentioned a few issues that that my previous two dentists did not think needed attention. Dr. Adam came up with a treatment plan and explained the procedures. A few weeks later I made another appointment to get some work done. Receiving dental work has never been on my list of favorite things to do, but Dr. Adam and his team made the experience extremely comfortable. He asked if he could take a few pictures of what he was doing, and later showed why he came up with the plan that he did. I could not beleive my previous dentists did not address the issues. What seemed to be minor issues were actually fairly deep cavities. The fillings look great, and I dont have the sensitivity issues that the other dentists couldnt figure out. Adam Kirkpatrick and his staff were warm and welcoming to me, which I really appreciated since I had not been to the dentist in a long time. The assistant who helped me was very funny and put me at ease. It was apparent the staff there respects Adam and his expertise. Not only did I receive excellent service and care, Dr. Adam took time with me to go over recommendations of where to go to get my wisdom teeth taken out. He made sure all my questions were answered, and even took the time to make an estimate for a tooth chip I'd like fixed. Overall, highly recommended. I even observed the dentist working with small children, and was very impressed by his gentle and professional manner-- it probably helps that he and his wife have young kids of their own! It has been almost 2 years since Ihave had my dentures. I have had the hard reline and also a soft reline on the bottoms along w/ the hard reline. I go back when I have sore spots, & I just went to Dr. Howerton, Hopkin & Kennedy today. Dr. K worked w/ them for my sleepy stuff & now fixing more infection all gone. They are all wonderful, caring, kind people. I am so glad to have found all of them, I give them all 5 stars. Dr. Hopkin dd my surgery last time & he was the one to fix the new infection, I did have pain, but,he is very understanding when I got upset & was very patient w/ me & I got to listen to my own music & they didn't mind I had my Zanny's of Michael Jackson, Josh Groban & Hercules w/ me. They are also very thorough in follow-ups and they check in w/ u afterwards, too! read more

To be honest I was terrified about getting my second wisdom tooth pulled (due to another dentist who pulled the first one).
