I see Jeremy who is extremely skilled at pinpointing what I would term "pain epicentres" managing to understand my rambled attempts at explaining where I feel the pain is coming from, then he is able through palpation, to find the exact trigger point. After living with knee pain since childhood, to finally understand where the pain is actually coming from ( Jeremy explained a misformation of my hip) this was clarity for the first time in my life regarding this issue, of which doctors had previously misdiagnosed. Tantamount to this I've received treatment by way of deep massage and manipulation for TMJ disorder and ongoing neck pain, as well as, calf and ankle treatment down to my toes! Ask plenty of questions when you visit you get many answers as to how your individual anatomy works and advice on the effects of stress, emotions, sleep patterns and even how the way we breathe effects our daily life! I first heard about this place a few years ago, when my very tall husband, who never stands up straight, had to come here for an adjustment because he was walking like Madonna when she first gets out of bed. After that, my stepson, who also never used to stand up straight, came here, and suddenly, is walking better, standing perfectly straight, and looking all round much better for it all. So when lower back pain started troubling me a few weeks ago, so much so that I was having trouble going on walks with the hubby, I figured it was time to head in. Like most chiropractic practices, the fees are not cheap, however, in many cases, if you are referred from your GP, your cost is free or reduced. You can also claim the cost back on any private insurance you may have. However, the clinic is a lovely place, with some of the nicest receptionists I've ever met in my life - these ladies are so sweet and efficient, you want to stay round for milk and cookies. There are changing areas to put on the sexy little gown with which you'll confront your torturer, who will seem very nice at first, and care a lot about your problems, before they break your back and throw you on the huge pile of bodies while cackling maliciously. Entering Shifa Herbs was an unforgettable experience. A figure appeared from within this cubicle and approached the front of the shop where I was standing. Dressed in a suit with tightly cropped hair and striking eyes this was my introduction to Shaf Khan, the man behind Shifa Herbs. Shaf has a few different means of analysis, the most immediate of which is the examination of a patients iris and Shaf was happy to provide this service and offer an initial diagnosis before the mention of any money. Shaf seems like an absolute gent and I must say there is something about him which gives one a sense that he is a genuine character.

Having had a really bad experience with a physio acupuncturist I cautiously approached this practice as it offered traditional five elements acupuncture as well as western symptom relief. Jon is an extremely well trained and knowledgeable acupuncturist. He explains things in as much detail as you like. I personally ask him loads of questions which he's always patiently happy to answer! Anyone nervous about trying acupuncture would soon find it impossible to not just relax and smile here as you really are put at ease from the outset. Oh and it works!

I joined this practice when I first moved to Kings Heath and I'm still there, over ten years later…read more They have seen me through two children, some fairly major illnesses and I have been very pleased with them. I like to shop around for things like this and I'm probably a nightmare of a patient as I want to know everything and question anything if I'm not sure or happy. I always feel listened to and involved in any treatment I've had. When the GP's look information up, they show me what they've found and I feel confident that they're giving the best advice they can. As a mum I have been vey happy with the help I've received from them. We've turned up quite a few times with various worries and hey have always made us feel at our ease and never made us feel silly for bringing our children along. They are also brilliant at phoning you back. Sometimes I don't want an appointment but am just looking for advice and if you phone and ask for a GP to contact you, they will. They spend time with you on the phone and are very thorough. From talking to other parents, I think we have a very good surgery and I would recommend.
