As someone who has tried a number of churches (since I have moved a lot), I can say this church…read moreprovides a solid traditional service at 9:00 AM. Organ, hymns, choir. The non-traditional was not my cup of tea (and I like non-traditional), but I really liked the sermons - educational, to the point, and not preachy. Pastor Barb is great. I would also like to point out that the church is gay friendly. :)

You'll see a sign that says if you're a first time guest, to turn your hazard lights on. From there, the team will lead you to front-row parking and will escort you to the first-time guest booth. We were warmly welcomed and received a welcome gift--which, interestingly, was a book by the pastor... I've received beautiful mugs and tumblers from other churches as first time gifts, but to each their own. We attended the 10:30 AM service (second service of the day), and were surprised with how packed The Connection Church service was. The program of service flows perfectly, 2-3 worship songs, and church updates followed by the sermon wrapped up in an hour. For those seeking communion for the day, they have it laid to the side as optional. Parents with children can drop off their kids during service in Connection Kidz. If your child needs you, their number will light up on the monitors to the side of the church. While I enjoyed the experience, it can be very intense for some. For new guests, they follow up by sending you an invite for a special dinner with the pastor and his family via mail and email.

It allows Gary Job Corps Students to participate in services and functions as well as Texas State students. It offers free coffee, cookies, prayer and hugs every Sunday morning and throughout the week. Pastor Robin Steel is really connected to God, and he allows God to speak through him to connect to others. They meet for service on Sunday's at 9 AM and 11AM and Saturday's at 6PM. Currently they are creating a servolution. A revolution of serving others. Haven't actually been to a service. My question/complaint is, why are they allowed to disrupt…read moretraffic on Lime Kiln Road every Sunday. Lime Kiln is a narrow two lane road that has very little traffic during the week and most of the traffic on Sunday is PL. They still have police officers holding traffic on a public road so their members can enter and leave their private lot, which then backs traffic up at the stop sign on Post. If they will leave the traffic alone, everything will move just fine! Right now, if you need to be somewhere on Sunday morning, leave early because PL members getting in and out of their parking lot is more important than where you have to be!

To say Holy Spirit is present would be an understatement. This church is filled with people dedicated to live every day life in close relationship with Christ. I always love the worship and sermon but most of all I love the community and the contagious hunger and passion of leaders and pastors of HHC.
