However, I was pleasantly surprised by the facility and the staff's level of professionalism. It made me feel a lot of relief knowing Dr. Prior is so involved and one call away if my dogs got sick or injured. I loved receiving daily text photos of how my dogs were doing. I love all the other "add-ons" they offer. Great location, off 40 & 80. The price for overnight boarding was very digestible/competitive. I will 100% use this overnight boarding program again.

The loving caring staff was gone almost immediately... Our Boy started at PCPR at 6 months 3-4 days a week as his large breed needs to be socialized and active! He absolutely loved going to PCPR ( just getting close his head out the window barking with excitement) With this our big guy is an very active blood tracking hunting dog , doing at least 5 miles a day with his Daddy! Our Guy never had any issues with other dogs at PCPR ( as the previous staff new how to place the right dogs together) 1st major issue, I picked up our Boy and when " The Owner " came out with him and just opened the gate to the common intake, and out take area before making sure it was safe for him, and other dogs that might be aggressive, or if the door leeding out was secure ( no one heading out with their dogs) I then aproched him and politely asked will you please moving forward have our Boy sit ( as he is trained to do) making sure you go first , than using the word release, after you know it's safe for him and other dogs to do so! His response to me was, I kid you not " If We Have Time" I should of took more notice as our Big Guy was not showing the excitement he had showed over the past 3 years going to PCPR! The final straw was a couple weeks later. I had picked our Guy up, he actually seemed okay. I dropped him off with his Daddy at work and went back to work myself. About 15 minutes later I received a call from my husband asking what happened to Our Guy? I was confused... He told me that he was rubbing his head and noticed he has several puncture wounds around his ears and a couple on his neck! I told him I have no ideal how he got them , as no one at PCPR had mentioned anything to me. When I contacted them regarding our Guys injuries we got nothing from them for 3 days! Finally, when thev new owner reached out and they had reviewed the footage he said Our Guy was play with another dog, when another dog came up from the side and attacked him! Okay now get this, I asked why The FU-K were we not told about this? The answer was, it was a new staff member and that person didn't think it was that bad! We all know how bad a simple puncture wond can get infected. Luckily Our Big Lover Boy is doing great and loving his new Doggie day care these last 3 years now! Yep he's 6 now

We have been through socialization training with her and she is doing better. We were going on a road trip and we needed a place to care for her. We were very unsure of how she would do. We toured Ruff Life Resort first and were VERY impressed. The staff were very welcoming and showed us around. One thing I noticed right away was how good it smelled. They keep everything super clean. They offer a variety of suite sizes too. Since this was her first experience, they evaluated her first and with their expertise placed her with a group of dogs that she was actually able to make friends with. She had never been able to do that before. They have five large yards, indoor and out. Their is always someone with the dogs in the yards too. We got pictures and reports everyday on how she was doing and it made my heart happy to see how happy she was and we were able to enjoy our vacation knowing she was being very well cared for. They even bathed her and washed her stuffy toy we had for her. We will most definitely book this resort the next time we need to board her. Definitely a 10 out of 10.

We found Ryan and Obedience Matters shortly after adding a beautiful Australian Cattle dog puppy…read morenamed Maya to our family. My fiance and I had done some research regarding cattle dogs and since we are both avid mountain bikers- we thought having a high energy (and smart!) dog would be the perfect trail companion. We had Ryan come to our home and had one-on-one sessions with Maya. As first time dog parents, we learned so much from watching and learning from Ryan interact and train with Maya. He is extremely knowledgeable about dog behavior and helped us with basic commands (sit, down, come) as well as more complex training using the E-collar. I personally was horrified of the idea of using a "shock collar". I was in tears at the thought of "shocking" our dog. However, after explaining the PURPOSE, TRAINING, SAFETY and FREEDOM that the E-collar allows (if used correctly) the dog- I began to feel more comfortable. I even tried to E-collar on a low setting on my own arm, which actually felt more like a light pinch and not a taser (which is what I imagined). Ryan taught us the purpose of it, was not to hurt or punish the dog, but to redirect the dog or have your dog recall and come back to you if needed. If this tool is used the right way- it is an amazing life-saving training tool. Because of the training, knowledge and information Ryan had provided us with- we are able to have Maya with us ON and OFF-LEASH on hikes, and join us on mountain bike rides. Her recall is excellent and while she is not the perfect dog (what dog is? haha) she has grown into a happy, smart and beautiful well-trained dog. When we visit dog parks or people meet Maya, you would not believe the comments we get about her being incredibly well-behaved. We STILL have people in Philly asking if our dog trainer Ryan can help/work with their dogs. My fiance and I now have 3 cattle dogs!!! We used the training and knowledge Ryan gave us to help us work with Maya and our other two wonderful cattle dogs. Although Ryan/Obedience Matters has relocated to Utah- we still are in contact with Ryan and he has helped us with any training tips or questions we have with our younger 2 cattle dogs. I would HIGHLY recommend Ryan and Obedience Matters. He is an excellent dog trainer, very kind, understanding and a patient person who genuinely cares about the dogs he works with.

Lola has transformed into a well-behaved and disciplined dog, all while maintaining her sweet, playful disposition. Ryan is incredibly knowledgeable about the latest, most effective techniques and is skilled at implementing tools like the e-collar with great care and precision. What truly sets Ryan apart is his genuine love for the animals in his care. When Lola had a minor medical situation, he immediately alerted me and took her to the vet himself. His proactive care and obvious concern showed us just how much he cared for our "princess." His service goes above and beyond the training period. He has called to check in on Lola's progress and even scheduled one-on-one sessions with me to ensure I'm confident in handling her at home. Ryan is a true professional who is generous with his time, expertise, and compassion. If you're in Park City and looking for top-tier dog training with a personal touch, look no further. I would also like to thank Jessie, assistant trainer for her love & care of Lola as well. Thank you, Ryan! Thank you Jessie!
