I have been a member at Active Fitness for eight months now. I have no major complaints and would describe my overall experience as positive. The staff are extremely nice and know me by name. They are willing to chat if you have questions and have offered to spot me if I ever need anyone. That fact coupled with the overall friendliness of the members creates a pleasant atmosphere. I may be biased since most of my time is spent in the weight room (or shall I say weight area) but I would probably describe Active as a lifters gym. I love working beside people who are just as dedicated and serious about body building and, not to mention, who are bigger than I am. The variety of lifting equipment is decent (especially thanks finally to the addition of that second squat rack!) and most of the time I don't have to wait long to use what I want. The exception to that is right after work, probably 5:30-7:30. Good luck finding a bench press during those hours on a Monday ;). Finding a free bench and waiting for the free weights I want during peak hours can be a little frustrating but ultimately the wait isn't very long. But again, the members as a whole are exremely friendly and are willing to let you work in between them if need be. I am not the best critic of the cardio section of the gym but I have never had a problem waiting for equipment (even during peak hours). The overall cleanliness of the gym is exceptional. Active is priced reasonably for what they offer. It's not quite like a large, corporate gym but it certainly encompasses everything I need and I would never pay those mega corporate gym prices. Since joining, I have successfully convinced three of my friends to join. I am extremely happy with Active Fitness and would recommend it to anyone. read more

Active Fitness is not one of the big crowded franchise gyms. It is a medium sized facility where you can get in and get out. Or, if you're like me spend a couple of hours without being rushed. The gym staff is very friendly and courteous and they do their best to make your workout time enjoyable and successful. At the front counter, Noelle and team always have a welcoming smile and happily assist with questions or needs. The equipment is reliable and always available. Multiple TV screens over the cardio section help the run, step and spin time go quicker. The locker rooms are big, clean, and pleasant smelling. And, hats off to the evening cleaning staff---Rose, who makes this experience more pleasant. There are not a lot of classes like some of the franchise gyms, but they do offer crossfit type sessions, with respective equipment, in their specialty area. The clientele ranges from the serious athlete to the maintenance type, from seniors to younger than seniors, therefore, the atmosphere is non-intimidating. During my training years, I have belonged to multiple fitness centers big and small. Overall, my four years at Active Fitness has been at the top of my list. read more

I have been going to this gym for about 4 years and I love it! I go about 4-5 times/week and every time I go I am always greeted by the friendly staff at the front desk! It's great because they have personal trainers who are wonderful but if you just want to go and workout on your own no one bothers you. I feel safe which is important to me, the staff and members are friendly, and I am always able to find an open treadmill. I like to do the treadmill & watch TV...time goes by a lot quicker! I also like the way they have the circuit training set up so its easy for a busy girl like me to get in there, get a full workout, and get out. I have definitely seen a difference in the way my clothes fit & energy level is much higher. STOP making excuses & sign up. Life isn't a 50yd dash..its a marathon!! I have been a member of Active fitness for a few years now. I recently went with a friend to Planet fitness for the day as a free guest. After going there it reaffirms why I come to Active. Dumbbell weights that go up to 120lbs!! Not that I use heavy weights that often but I like having the option. Also I must say overall active is a much cleaner gym then any I've been to in the area. For me price isn't an issue for a gym. However I pay 10$ a month at active. It's a must for the price and what they offer. I prefer and will always prefer to go to a family owned and operated facility over a corporate gym. I like that everyone that works here knows my name and is friendly and outgoing. read more

I have been in many gyms in my life and by far ActiveFitness is my favorite gym!! they have plenty of different equipments , tanning beds , FIT-X classes, Kickboxing classes and great atmosphere . The employees always welcoming and the owner himself is really down to earth and care for his members. It's family owned fitness center which you can feel huge difference from all these corporate gyms that all they care about is packing their gyms and selling memberships ( with hidden fees )! I've been a member a little over 2 years. I have been through a number of the more "commercial" gyms in the area and felt like just another membership number. At Active the owner Mike goes out of his way to know you as does the manager Kevin. I could have never achieved my fitness goals without their guidance. A couple of the reviews out here are just silly. A 1 because you don't like the way some cardio equipment is positioned? Anyway, highly recommend. read more

Always get a good workout in. Active is definitely better than retro fitness and planet fitness. The people here actually want to work out which motivates me. there's a lot of cardio equipment to choose from. There's always an associate walking around cleaning and cleaner to wipe off your equipment when finished. Great job active fitness! read more

Typical neighborhood gym. One squat rack is not enough but people are friendly compared to other gyms if you need to jump in for a set or two. Membership is $20 a month so I'm happy. I have to commend them for their cleanliness. Every morning they do a thorough job of cleaning of the whole gym. I like Active much more then corporate gyms. read more
