Great and personalized service as you expect from someone who has been in the neighborhood for years and know where their products come from and quality meat. They have house made sausages, and a small selection of grocery such as cheese, beans, pasta... specializing in Greek products, as you may expect in Tarpon Springs. I have stopped into Acropolis Meats several times when coming home from Fred Howard with my Service Dog, Kodiak. I am always met with a welcoming smile. We LOVE this place! It is truly a gem. The owner even takes care of my Service Dog ‍ You MUST try the chimichurri kebabs. They are packed with flavor and made with choice cut sirloin-- super tender! I love this little meat market. It was recommended to me by a local in the area so I knew it was going to be enjoyable. It's small, packed full of Greek specialities likes teas, cheeses, noodles and of course meat. There is a secret cut of meat (I'm going to keep this one to myself) but if you can find out what it is, get it! So tender and reasonably priced. Selections are limited so get there early. If he runs out, he runs out. The butcher is no non sense but full of life and vigor. I love walking in the door and being greeted by him. Went on an early morning quest for "Pork Belly"! I'd checked my local grocery chains, the big boxes with no luck or a sub prime product. Thinking I'd have to source this ingredient from far away specialty market, I started asking around. I was been told my local Greek market literally around the corner from home had exactly what I needed. I was greeted by the sweetest little Greek lady wielding a large butcher knife and an even bigger smile. The store had glass cases packed with tons of chicken, pork, beef, goat, cheeses. Shelves were full of imported pastas, olives, and dried spices. We talked about my BBQ project. She told me my method was almost the same as her fathers back in Greece. She cut and trimmed me a piece to order. I added a bulk pack of whole wheat barley and yellow lentils to my order and checked out. Don't expect isles of products and sophisticated check out system, it's a "local market ". With out question I was surprised with the selections of meats, cheeses and spices. Not only does the meat have the most delicious flavor over Publix meat but it is 1/2 the price that you'd pay!! The Filet was $5.95 so I bought a 5 lb Tenderloin cut it into steaks when I got hone. They were the best flavor that we've had in years. Better than Berns Steak house ir Ruth Chris! They rack of ribs, unbelievable delicious too! You must go! Finally stopped in , HUGE selection , they slice their meats with perfection so nice and thin , i for sure will now only purchase my deli meat there . Even if they didn't have them they would ask what cut and to my surprise go into the back and cut it for me! They have an overwhelming variety of foods for you to make the best meals for your family. Everything from pre-made meals to specialty cuts. Be sure to take a ticket as you walk in the door because it can be very busy or get that way fast! My turkey this year was the best. It stayed moist for days after made. They also offer packages of different meats at a reduced price. They offer different types of dry goods and baked goods. Totally love this place! I make a special trip from the Hudson Beach area every couple of weeks. The quality of everything is fantastic and the prices are reasonable too. This weekend I picked up lamb and beef kabobs which were absolutely delicious! Also picked up scallops which were probably the best that I've had in a very long time. I do not recommend this place for anything. We bought garlic that was so old that it was powder inside and chicken cordon bleu that we needed to toss out because the breading was off. We should have known something was up when we bought food from a meat market that was frozen but we wanted to support the small business. That was a $20 mistake I won't repeat. read more

We've been picking up steaks here for years. Came in on New year's eve and picked up 4 bacon wrapped filet mignon. Went straight home and put them in the fridge until we were ready to start dinner. Amazing old school butcher shop. Prices are great and they carry a great selection of meats, deli items and Greek imports. Meats were fresh and the deli cheeses are awesome. They make their own Greek and Italian sausages in house and the lamb sausage was one of the best I've ever had. Owner is super helpful and occasionally jokes around with the customers like a true neighborhood shop. From lunch meet to the Teddy Special it's all good, custom order steaks anytime you want, cut the way you want. I walked in here since I was antique shopping nearby, and already had a parking spot right out front. Definitely a family type business, they were chatting with customers they knew when I walked in. I was so surprised their prices were much cheaper than Publix or Walmart, and they had great specials too. So I called my local butcher shop of which I have been a customer of in times past... And I will add here... Never again... To see if they could cut the spine out of my turkey. I will be spatchcocking my turkey this year. The butcher straight out says where did you buy the turkey I told him Publix he says will then take it to Publix. He says I'm not going to break my equipment on a turkey you didn't by here. I asked if I could pay for the service. He says how much are you going to pay me I said how much would you charge he says the point is is take it to where you bought it from your not a customer of mine. I don't think it was so much that what he was saying is unreasonable. His attitude and how he said it was very offputting and extremely rude. He could have just said no I'm sorry we're not able to do that. But instead he just straight-out tells me where to take it and why he's not going to do it. Rude. LIke I said I used to be a customer of his but not anymore. They may want to reconsider who they have working the front of the store. Because their customer service skills are seriously lacking. I wish they had negative Stars. But I'm forced to choose at least a one-star rating. read more
