I had heard about what is called an "Eco experience education" through a kids meetup group I'm in…read moreand thought it would be fun to set up for my daughters Girl Scout troop. It was! Michelle, a marine biologist, runs these programs, and she was fantastic to work with. Our group did the "seine-sational field trip". We met at pelican harbor park at low tide and Michelle and an assistant waded into the water with our troop and nets to see what marine life we could find. The nets are emptied into either a bucket (for shells, grasses, etc) or a little aquarium that was set up on the beach. Once we had found enough Michelle brought out special water microscopes and leaflets and worked with the girls to identify what they found while sharing information in a fun and informative way. Michelle also makes sure that nothing is harmed or touched during this and all specimens are returned to the ocean. The girls had a blast and the parents where all so impressed by the program and Michelle that we are already planning which of her programs we want to do next and what week we want to send our kids to her summer camps. Prices for the programs vary depending on if you are a school, a non profit, a group or just an individual doing one of the open to the public times. As a group, we paid just under $15 a girl (adults were free) for this particular program, which was two hours long.

I must say i had a great time, although in all honesty, i always have great times regardless. I felt the concept was fun, the people were pleasant and the instructor was good. I ended up coming back a second time and had the same experience. I have not tried any of the others therefore I don't have much to compare it to but I'm assuming if you start off with them first you won't know the difference. Just wine up and get that paintbrush ready; nothing else should matter but you and that canvas!

I decided to check out the Fun Palette after having a great experience at a similar place. While I…read morehad fun, there are definitely some differences, and unfortunately the Fun Palette scored lower for me. The Fun Palette is tucked away in North Miami Beach, but it's easily marked, so as long as you're on West Dixie with your eyes peeled, you shouldn't miss it. The space is pretty intimate, but there's enough room to bring a group. The atmosphere is less rowdy and partyish than other painting parties, but that might be just what you're looking for. Plus, I'm sure it depends on the crowd. The day my friends and I arrived, the class started RIGHT on time. We brought wine and snacks with us, and were happy that the Fun Palette had a wine opener. We finally found some usable cups lying around, but I would advise you to bring your own just in case. The actual painting instruction was very fast-moving. I felt like I fell behind a few times. I also felt like the instruction was geared more towards people who have painted before. At other painting classes, instructors really walk you through the steps, and I (a totally inexperienced painter) really enjoyed that. However, if you have a bit more experience, you may enjoy the faster pace of the Fun Palette. It did seem that there were many more experienced painters there... At the end when we all revealed our masterpieces, only a few paintings closely resembled the original. Many people had incorporated some really cool techniques that I would not even know where to begin to do! I also felt that I had to ask a few times to please "SLOW DOWN! WAIT! I'm not there yet!" Or, "How do I make my brush do what your brush is doing?" I was a little lost... and I think my friends felt the same. When the class was over, it was over. It felt very much like at the end of a night out -- Lights on, go home. Not the best. I probably won't return to the Fun Palette. The instructors are talented but my experience lacked some of the "fun" that is advertised in the name!

What can I write about this place. I have been here SO MANY events and birthdays-including son's…read morebirthday party. To begin with, they were SO helpful, they are always caring and mindful of what is going on. I got all their help when preparing for the birthday party, the called me, help me to organize and worked as a team with me. I was able to hire someone to do Facepainting and they were very nice by providing a good place for the person to work. They are super helpful with the children and are always smiling and making sire we are not stress at all. I considered GymKidz just the correct place to have an awesome birthday party while being safe and comfortable inside of a air conditioning place (which I LOVE). Maybe a small comments..: they should expand the area in where the children eat. It is very small but I do understand that is designated for children ONLY. Keep on the good job!!!

There was a little obstacle course, in floor trampoline, uneven bars, and a seat thing the kids could get strapped into and then go flying high. One little girl even did flips while soaring. With the exception of one game the kids were allowed to play on their own, which I prefer to organized games. After the one game they set up a bouncy house. The hosts were allowed to bring in own food, which is always better. Especially since they brought in Costco pizza since it's close. At around twenty minutes till end of party they had all kids go into Party room for cake. While the kids are in the room they closed up the gym room and lowered lights, so the kids can't come back after. When the two hours of the Party are over the Party is definitely over.
