The level of care and security I received in relation to me and my personal documents were everything I wanted in a tax preparation company. A secure place to upload my documents made the entire process super easy for me. I made my appointment to review the return in person and I was in and out in less than 30 minutes! When I arrived, I was greeted by Courtney and my agent was Nicole. Experienced and knowledgeable, I'm so pleased.

Hacker's Accounting cost me $350 to do my taxes. Something that is convenient is that they make you sign up for some website and they ask you for a bunch of information and documents before you even come into the office. This makes it so that when you actually arrive in person that most of the work is already done. I liked how amiable and straightforward they were.

She was willing to do a long form for me to try and get a bigger refund, but I told her that the interest on my mortgage has not made a difference in the past 5 years. She told me to gather my medical bills to combine with it and it may work out combined with mortgage interest, but I don't really have access to everything based on provider/portal changes. I don't normally keep the paper copies of my bills since everything is online these days. I had switched to Irma this year because my previous tax lady had moved further out from me, plus that lady sold her business. I figured it was my chance to start fresh. I had called around/browsed websites of a few places. Irma's fees were closest to my old tax lady's fees. Everyone else I contacted had exorbitant fees. I'm glad I found Irma. I've already referred a couple people to her.

However I expected to sit down with her while she did my taxes like I did where I used to live. I really didn't get to discuss much with her. She just told me to bring my last years taxes and that was it. Said they would call me to pick up when ready. I didn't like that and worried what I got myself into. But I picked up my taxes and everything was fine. So I will probably continue to use her in the years to come.

Update: Jeremy Reynolds has now placed a false review on our business page in retaliation to our…read morehonest review. I have reported it to Yelp and will now be including it in our lawsuit as it is retaliatory, misleading, damaging, false as he was never our client and defamation/slander. Further defining his horrible tactics and bullying measures and lack of accountability! We hired and paid Jeremy to file an extension, prepare, and submit our taxes by the deadline. We finalized everything on time, paid our Arizona taxes in full on 10/15 as directed, and even tipped him -- trusting the job was done. Weeks later, we got hit with over $1,000 in IRS penalties, and Arizona fined us too. After calling the IRS, we learned our return wasn't filed until well after the deadline -- with zero notice. When confronted, he deflected, blamed unrelated things, and only admitted the truth after we pushed -- still without taking responsibility. It felt like he exploited our trust and tried to spin the situation to avoid owning his failure. This wasn't just a mistake. It was a complete disregard for responsibility and professionalism. Anyone who lies by omission and shifts blame shouldn't be handling anyone's taxes. We absolutely do not recommend him. Trust is everything, and he lost ours completely.

Evelyn is the lady that helped us and she asked relevant questions and was extremely thorough. This year I decided to go through her and I liked the fact that she got to know me through simple conversation and was able to apply what I was telling her to write-offs. I had completely forgotten about my childcare and when we were talking about kids she had told me I could write that off. Since I'm Chicana, I like supporting my local mom and pop shops and love when I see them advancing. The place is called Padilla Tax Service but it's Dev-an, LLC. So don't get confused :) Also, if you're looking to do crooked stuff this is not the place for you. She's super by the book and will maximize your refund legitimately. Her goal is for you is to avoid getting audited but most importantly, not getting fined. There are a lot of people out there who don't pay attention to detail and it will cost you in the long run. I payed $160 for my taxes but I know their cost will increase with inflation. It's just the nature of the beast :( but you can't blame them... So, would I recommend? absolutely! - They speak Spanish and English.
