Almost like a fancy resort! The pros of this facility: Good food, good drink, excellent nursing staff that actually go the extra mile for their patients. Very clean throughout the entire facility. Everything was very accessible for wheelchairs, walkers and loading and unloading by the front door. The receptionists at the front desk were always warm and welcoming. Great physical therapy program, but they are tough on you. But, they have to be! Also no worries about people stealing your possessions in this facility. She's been to other facilities where they will steal anything if it's not bolted down! Cons: The only con was the varying wake up time between 4:30 - 5:30 a.m. in order to be up and ready for breakfast at 7:00 a.m. Even if you need assistance getting ready, the hurry up and wait is pretty ridiculous! It's understandable that the staff have a schedule to go by, but c'mon now! Other than that, my Mom says she was treated like a VIP there! Thanks for taking such great care of my Mom, guys! Every day I get a call from either the occupational therapist, the nurse in charge of her care plan, or someone else with an update. Shana is awesome as a nurse coordinator, Denise her aide is so amazing and such a hard worker, the head nurse in charge on Thanksgiving went out of her way to make things happen for requests we had. My mom was able to call from her cell one evening and needed something small.....a box of tissues and asked me to call a nurse...within minutes she was attended to. Mom is a picky eater and she loves the food there. We still have approximately 10 or more days to go but I am very pleased with her care thus far and would highly recommend Encompass Health Erie.

Spot on and appropriately interventional. The CNA's were gentle and kind to her, respectful and so hardworking. Even the agency staff did good jobs, following the lead of the regular staff. I visited nearly every day, my brother visited every evening. (So, believe me, we didn't miss much) The food was sometimes great, sometimes institutional but delivered with smiles and offers to bring whatever they could to please the patient. The facility needs a facelift, painting, renewed. But that's on the owners, not the staff. The actual caregivers were far above average. Mom was kept clean. Her room was small and corporate owners need to invest $$ in the bland courtyard. My MIL is in a premier nursing home in Greenville where everything is constantly being beautified. If Kadima ever would put $$ into this facility, it would never have an empty bed because of the staff. Mom's care was every bit as good as my MILs. There are no odors, the bathrooms (while old are worn)were kept so clean!(great housekeeping staff too) We dealt with every facet of this facility from billing (wonderful and professional) to administration (always willing to address concerns) to activities (super) to therapy (always going the extra mile) to maintenance (friendly and very hardworking). Mom was spoken to with respect and kindness. She was cared for with gentleness. By every staff member we encountered. None were found lacking. I would choose Kadima again. The staff was friendly and welcoming and we felt comfortable bringing her here. The rehab team was great and she was actually able to get home sooner than expected.
