I was visiting Pismo Beach with my sister's family. I was helping with the twins, 18 pounds each, when my back went into intense spasm. I couldn't even bend down. I tried a massage, which made it worse. Upon the hotel's recommendation of Dr Steed, I thought i would throw faith to the wind, and give it a try. I called and told them how desperate is was, and they were able to get me in right away. I've been going to Dr. Steed for 2.5 years now, I went originally because I had a sciatic nerve issue on my right side that caused my leg to go numb in places or feel pain. I was getting married in April 08 and didn't want walk down the aisle with my leg in pain or numb. My husband's coworker went to Dr. Steed so I gave him a try. Not only did he fully explain everything about the adjustments, but also told me in great detail what was going on with my sciatic issue. By the time I walked down the aisle I had no more leg numbness or pain. With maintenance visits I have kept the sciatic issue at bay. On another occasion a year ago I was moving a couch into the house and tripped, the couch fell on me and I fell on my hip. Within days my back and was tied up in knots and I was in excruciating pain. I called Dr. Steed and go in immediately and after my adjustment the pain was relieved and within a few days I was back to my usual self. Healthier Lifestyle with Chiropractic Care! After my car accident I had horrible pain all over my body, neck, back, legs, arms, hips, knees. I felt like a crushed can. The hospital sent me home with pain medication prescription but my pain continued and a friend suggested chiropractic. Loved the staff here. Wish I hadn't had to visit! Like several other reviewers I was in Pismo Beach for pleasure and had a twingey back issue that wouldn't quit. I called Achilles Chiropractic and was able to get an appointment the next day. The staff was really helpful and kind. I was at Pismo beach for a vacation and I had a bad case of stiff neck. Dr.Mark agreed to see me at15 minutes notice, and did everything he could to relieve me of my pain and get me moving. He genuinely cared for my relief and spent over an hour on me , which is so refreshing compared to all the other chiropractors I have visited that only want to set you up with a treatment plan so you keep going back. This place is great. The man is WAY over qualified, and seems to truly enjoy his job. We were in town visiting for a couple days and my son was in severe pain. The staff was able to get him an appointment right away and Dr. Mark worked on him for about an hour. I have been a patient of Dr Steed for about 3 years... He is amazing... If you are in pain he will work with you till you feel better. Last month i had a big vacation planned and pulled my back out two days before... thinking i was going to have to cancel my trip :/ Dr Steed fit in several visits with not only an adjustment but with other treatments (elec.??) it really helped so much i was able to still enjoy my vacation... i really appreciated they extra treatments and care. I started with chiropractic about 20 years ago after 2 car accidents and have to say Dr Steed is by far the best out of about 8 chiropractors i have been to. I have had chronic sciatica for the past three years. After many visits to chiropractors who performed the usual bone cracking without delving into the possible causes of the problem, no relief. While complaining to a friend about the problem, they suggested Dr. Steed. I was skeptical until they described his total health philosophy, which I ascribe too. My first visit was a completely different from previous experiences. Lynn, had me complete numerous forms from family health history to various nerve and joint sensations throughout the body. Next came a digital scan for my pelvic area. The results were explained to me in simple language. Dr Steed explained the proposed treatment, again, in great detail. Dr. Steed immediately began treatment, explaining each step and supplied videos about what I needed to do at home to strengthen my muscles, which cause many back problems. I had initially started seeing Dr. Steed after a neck injury sustained in a car accident. It was also discovered during my initial exam that I had an old compression fracture, which was a complicating factor to the current injury. I was treated with success in regard to the neck injury, and am currently in a maintenance program to keep the rest of my spine healthy and aligned. I have had great results with Dr. Steed, as I had been to another chiropractor about 2 years prior who was never able to adjust the area of the old fracture. I had lower back, hip and leg pain with numbness in my toes and was not able to walk without pain for the last four weeks. I have also had shoulder and neck pain and stiffness for some time. I have been prescribed numerous muscle relaxers and pain killers, as well as numerous physical therapy treatments of ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot/cold compresses and more. Prior to leaving on our trip out west in March of 2015, I had spent a day with my grandchildren at a water park several hours away from my home. I hit my head hard on one of the water slides and was unable to visit my chiropractor prior to leaving on our trip. I believe in getting adjusted ASAP whenever I get injured out of the ordinary but it was not possible this time. Initial response to my head injury was a tight neck and shoulder discomfort/pain. About 3 weeks into our trip my husband and I were visiting in the Pismo Beach area when I had an unexpected gallbladder attack(had one previously about 10 yrs ago).
