I had my first appointment with Dr. Mark Steed today. My husband has been, as has my son. Both had only great things to say about their appointments. I can now say for myself what they have expressed. Dr. Steed is an exceptional chiropractor. I haven't had an adjustment for over 15 years and had several vertebrate that were "locked up". I walked out of my appointment feeling like a new person. I would recommend Achilles Chiropractic to the individual that has a desire to maintain a healthy alignment as well as the individual with serious therapeutic needs. I will be returning, as will my husband and son. Only great things to say about my experience here. Thank you, Dr. Steed! read more

Dr. Steed not only physically adjusts my body to compensate for over 50 years of the ravages of sports, car, bicycle, and hiking accidents/injuries, but actually coaches and adjusts me with the intention of becoming adjustment free. Moving from east of the Mississippi in the beginning of 2020, I saw Dr. Steed once a month. Today is the 7th month and I do not have the recurring pains that have limited my ability to function. Dr. Steed and I have both recognized my progression and I noticed that his unique and seemingly small alignment props make a huge difference with my recovery. read more

Mark Steed D.C. and Lynn are GREAT! I have referred friends for adjustments and two of my family members have also become ongoing patients. Dr. Steed doesn't just treat symptoms. He will if that's all you are needing him do, but his specialty is in treating the "true cause" of your ailment. By treating the actual cause, you will gain a long-term improvement in your condition. The office is equipped with everything, including an in-house x-ray machine! So, whether you just need a simple one time adjustment, or if you want to really be assessed and given a long-term treatment plan, Achilles Chiropractic is the place to go on the Central Coast! read more

First off, for you local folks that live here, you are very lucky for many reasons! One is, Dr Steed's and his wife Lynn are amazing! Two of the most kindest people I have ever met. I hurt my back trying to lift an ATV (not a TV :), I was in terrible pain, could barely stand, sit, or walk so I called Dr Steed's office at 9pm in the hopes of hearing their hours of operations when Lynn picked up the phone! I was shocked she was personally still taking calls. I explained to her my situation, so she told me to come in the next morning. The next day, I showed up early and Dr Steed got right to work. I could barely lay down on the tables, and when I did, I could barely get back up. Dr Steed was so patient and kind in helping me. He spent alot of his time trying to relieve the locked up pain in my back. I am very appreciative of how much time he spent on me to ensure I would be able to get on the road of recovery and not be in so much pain for the rest of my trip! I left the office about 70% better, which was a HUGE improvement - SO thankful! Whether you're visiting and injure yourself like I did, or a lucky local, you'll be in great care with Dr Steed and his wife. read more

I was visiting Pismo Beach with my sister's family. I was helping with the twins, 18 pounds each, when my back went into intense spasm. I couldn't even bend down. I tried a massage, which made it worse. Upon the hotel's recommendation of Dr Steed, I thought i would throw faith to the wind, and give it a try. I called and told them how desperate is was, and they were able to get me in right away. The first treatment, he was able to get me out of most of the pain, which was amazing, because i was very inflamed. The second treatment, even better. He also gave me many tools to continue healing myself, videos, exercises, pamphlets etc. He is a great healer, extremely generous, and has a lot of experience. I highly recommend him to help you out of pain! read more

I have been to a handful of chiropractors in different states over the years. Some are better than others. Dr Mark quickly became my favorite, as well as my family, based solely on RESULTS! His knowledge and experience are second to none. I came looking for relief from many months of repetitive motion work and too many hours driving. I scheduled an appointment. I left Dr Marks office so relieved, I could not help but tell everyone. It has given me hope that I can live without pain. His treatment plans are realistic, with actual progress achieved and dramatically noticeable. Financially if necessary, his rates are extremely reasonable read more

I just turned 73 yrs old and I have been going to chiropractors since a low back injury when I was 18 yrs. old. I've been treated for many different injuries and the techniques used by Dr. Mark Steed are second to none. He has also invested quite a bit of money into some state-of-the-art equipment, which sets him apart from most. My sister has worked for and with many Chiropractors for more than 30 years and she recommended Dr. Steed to me while I was on a holiday in the Central Coast. From the warm welcome by Lynn to the informative treatment sessions, I could tell I was in the hands of a true professional. I walked out of the second session standing straight as an arrow and feeling so relieved that i just knew I had to write a review to help people select this office for any chiropractic needs. Highly recommended! Thank you Dr. Steed (I call him Mark) and Lisa. read more

I've been going to Dr. Steed for 2.5 years now, I went originally because I had a sciatic nerve issue on my right side that caused my leg to go numb in places or feel pain. I was getting married in April 08 and didn't want walk down the aisle with my leg in pain or numb. My husband's coworker went to Dr. Steed so I gave him a try. Not only did he fully explain everything about the adjustments, but also told me in great detail what was going on with my sciatic issue. By the time I walked down the aisle I had no more leg numbness or pain. With maintenance visits I have kept the sciatic issue at bay. On another occasion a year ago I was moving a couch into the house and tripped, the couch fell on me and I fell on my hip. Within days my back and was tied up in knots and I was in excruciating pain. I called Dr. Steed and go in immediately and after my adjustment the pain was relieved and within a few days I was back to my usual self. I would recommend Dr. Steed to anyone needing chiropractic work, he's very friendly and easy to get along with, he explains everything you would ever need to know about your issue and is very accommodating when you need an appointment ASAP. read more

Healthier Lifestyle with Chiropractic Care! After my car accident I had horrible pain all over my body, neck, back, legs, arms, hips, knees. I felt like a crushed can. The hospital sent me home with pain medication prescription but my pain continued and a friend suggested chiropractic. I was very skeptical and from what I knew about chiropractic I didn't see how chiropractic could help me, but I reluctantly made an appointment anyway. Dr. Steed and Lynne more than answered all of my questions and even have gotten me started on an overall healthier lifestyle too! I feel so much better than when I first came through the doors. I feel fantastic! Two Thumbs Up for Achilles Chiropractic! read more

Loved the staff here. Wish I hadn't had to visit! Like several other reviewers I was in Pismo Beach for pleasure and had a twingey back issue that wouldn't quit. I called Achilles Chiropractic and was able to get an appointment the next day. The staff was really helpful and kind. They provided multiple resources that I could take with me, I even got to listen to a very cool talk on changing wellbeing in America while I was warming up to get adjusted. Can't recommend them enough! read more

I was at Pismo beach for a vacation and I had a bad case of stiff neck. Dr.Mark agreed to see me at15 minutes notice, and did everything he could to relieve me of my pain and get me moving. He genuinely cared for my relief and spent over an hour on me , which is so refreshing compared to all the other chiropractors I have visited that only want to set you up with a treatment plan so you keep going back. He's very knowledgeable and experienced and had me feeling much better and restored my mobility. read more

My fiancé has been suffering with back and leg pain for what seems like forever. He has been to neurologist back home in Alabama and they did nothing for him. After the first visit with Dr. Mark he saw dramatic improvements! He is able to move better than he has in a very long time! We are so thankful for the help and treatment he received here! Dr. Mark is awesome! Now, if only we could pack him up and take him back to Alabama with us!! read more

This place is great. The man is WAY over qualified, and seems to truly enjoy his job. Not only did he help my back in the short term, he also gave me DVDs on wellness, and gave me tips to help my back in the long term. On a side note, he's a funny guy, and really keeps you company while your there. read more

I have been a patient of Dr Steed for about 3 years... He is amazing... If you are in pain he will work with you till you feel better. Last month i had a big vacation planned and pulled my back out two days before... thinking i was going to have to cancel my trip :/ Dr Steed fit in several visits with not only an adjustment but with other treatments (elec.??) it really helped so much i was able to still enjoy my vacation... i really appreciated they extra treatments and care. I started with chiropractic about 20 years ago after 2 car accidents and have to say Dr Steed is by far the best out of about 8 chiropractors i have been to. He is extremely knowledgeable not only on chiropractic but with general health and wellness. You can tell he really enjoys what he is doing by the passion he puts into his work, and true concern to have each of his patients live healthier and pain free lives! :) read more

I was on vacation in Pismo with my family last week when my back went out! After a few days of just dealing with it...I decided I needed some help! I contated Dr. Steed's office (Achilles Chiropractic). They were able to get me in that morning. Dr. Steed was awesome - he knew that I was in a hurry but he also took the appropriate time to get to know me, my history and my pain. Then...he took care of business and worked hard to free up my back. He tried lots of different things and ultimately, got the job done! Back is all good! Thanks much Dr. Steed. I would recommend Dr. Steed if you need some back help! Happy Holidays! read more

We were in town visiting for a couple days and my son was in severe pain. The staff was able to get him an appointment right away and Dr. Mark worked on him for about an hour. He also provided important information about exercises and stretching to prevent future problems. I would definitely recommend Achilles Chiropractic! read more

I have had chronic sciatica for the past three years. After many visits to chiropractors who performed the usual bone cracking without delving into the possible causes of the problem, no relief. While complaining to a friend about the problem, they suggested Dr. Steed. I was skeptical until they described his total health philosophy, which I ascribe too. My first visit was a completely different from previous experiences. Lynn, had me complete numerous forms from family health history to various nerve and joint sensations throughout the body. Next came a digital scan for my pelvic area. The results were explained to me in simple language. Dr Steed explained the proposed treatment, again, in great detail. Dr. Steed immediately began treatment, explaining each step and supplied videos about what I needed to do at home to strengthen my muscles, which cause many back problems. After 3 visits, I have absolutely no lower back pain. All I can say is I LOVE Dr. Steed and Lynn for caring. read more

I had initially started seeing Dr. Steed after a neck injury sustained in a car accident. It was also discovered during my initial exam that I had an old compression fracture, which was a complicating factor to the current injury. I was treated with success in regard to the neck injury, and am currently in a maintenance program to keep the rest of my spine healthy and aligned. I have had great results with Dr. Steed, as I had been to another chiropractor about 2 years prior who was never able to adjust the area of the old fracture. I have since had better nerve function and circulation in my extremities, and relief from severe upper shoulder/neck pain and tension headaches. read more

I had lower back, hip and leg pain with numbness in my toes and was not able to walk without pain for the last four weeks. I have also had shoulder and neck pain and stiffness for some time. I have been prescribed numerous muscle relaxers and pain killers, as well as numerous physical therapy treatments of ultrasound, electrical stimulation, hot/cold compresses and more. Sadly, I received NO RELIEF from these standard treatments. Then, two trusted friends suggested their chiropractor, Dr. Steed. I admit was nervous and very skeptical about chiropractic. After only two treatments I am thrilled to have 90% improvement. I haven't felt this good for over twenty years. I can turn my head while driving. Dr. Steed took more time to explain my problems on my x-rays and to tell me exactly what he planned to do to help me than the other doctors who actually took the x-rays in the first place. I know I can now continue to really achieve better health. read more

Prior to leaving on our trip out west in March of 2015, I had spent a day with my grandchildren at a water park several hours away from my home. I hit my head hard on one of the water slides and was unable to visit my chiropractor prior to leaving on our trip. I believe in getting adjusted ASAP whenever I get injured out of the ordinary but it was not possible this time. Initial response to my head injury was a tight neck and shoulder discomfort/pain. About 3 weeks into our trip my husband and I were visiting in the Pismo Beach area when I had an unexpected gallbladder attack(had one previously about 10 yrs ago). I knew I needed to get to a chiropractor to correct the misalignment and start the healing process for my gallbladder as well. I was very sick with no appetite, fatigue, diarrhea etc. and not sure how to start on the road to recovery for my gallbladder or what to eat/do to decrease the pain. I found Dr. Steed through reviews and highly recommended. I gave his office a call and he was able to fit me into his schedule on short notice for my neck and discuss gallbladder problem. I was blessed to learn he was one of a hand full of qualified wellness professionals in his state and was able to instruct me on detoxing and doing a one-day fat flush. He did a fantastic job adjusting me(2x), one of the best adjustments I ever had and provided precise information regarding diet to help me recover from the gallbladder attack. I am so thankful for his passion to wellness and willing to share what he knows to help me recover without resorting to surgery. His detox plan and fat flush did remove "sludge" and am feeling fine today. He also provided information about vitamins, colon care etc. I want to thank you for helping me finish out our vacation fairly well on track without a trip to the hospital. read more
