We contacted this company on the advice of our realtor as his recommended insurance agent. On Dec…read more30, 2015 I got a price quote for a new home that we were purchasing in NC. The quote for complete coverage was $673. Since we didn't know anything about this area and we were making the purchase from out of state we decided to go with this insurance. Less than one month later when we were in town and getting ready to close on the house we were advised the price had gone up to $729. (01/25/16). We were also told at that time if the house did not close before the end of January there would be another price increase. WHAT!!! That's 3 increases in less than two months. Unfortunately, time was of the essence and we had already turned the insurance information into the mortgage company so we stayed with this insurance. Our sigh of relief has occurred since we have now changed to State Farm Insurance before the anniversary date of the house purchase. Fortunately we didn't need to make a claim during the year that we carried this insurance. I suspect it might have been a confusing process as J & J Insurance turned us over to Brad Sizemore Insurance which shows on the billing statement as being All American Ins. Brokerage Inc. as part of Untied P & C Insurance. Had we stayed with the insurance for the second year the premium was going to be $924. We know this as they collected the money from the escrow account more than a month before the policy renewal date. Despite the fact that we had contacted the Loan Holder they paid this insurer which meant we had to pay out of pocket for next years State Farm coverage and seek a reimbursement from the insurance company that was paid. We have received the reimbursement which is the reason for the second star. In the future I would always stay with a major insurance company. The whole process was handled much more professionally.

They were understanding and really nice when I came in to cancel the policy today, and the woman was blown away at the price we had been given elsewhere. Maybe I just got a good deal? Hurricane Florence reeked havoc on this area of North Carolina several weeks ago. Despite the…read moredamage caused to Wilmington, and the entire coastal cities of North and South Carolina, Rob Cutting - State Farm Insurance was in the office and ready to handle customers claims a week after the storm hit land. We called on the Friday after the hurricane in hopes of starting a claim. Kyla handled our call and started the claim. She explained the whole process to us since we are unfamiliar with NC weather and hurricanes. We had purchased the NC named storm insurance when we originally set up our policy with State Farm. Since we had the coverage she explained that we file the claim with them, it then gets kicked to the state/FEMA, then back to State Farm. All our dealings would be with State Farm. After taking the information on our damage (to the roof and siding) she assured us she had all the information needed. She said to expect an email with the process and that it would include some names of companies that put tarps on damaged roofs. When the email arrived we didn't see companies listed for the tarps we needed so we called back. The company that originally said they were available had clarified that they only handle roofs crushed by trees and since that wasn't our situation the name wasn't included. Rob Cutting went above and beyond to provide us with several options before the day was over. We contacted the first name provided and got put on a list to be tarped. That's a whole separate five star review. On Saturday, yes the very next day, the State Farm Claims rep called and interviewed us on the damage. She took contact information for us and our daughter who is local and will be present for the adjuster when they physically come out to the property. After interviewing us she read back her report for our approval. Such professional service! By the third day, Sunday, our daughter had been contacted and an appointment was set for the following Saturday. While hearing nightmare stories from other people in the area and the hoops they are having to jump thru to find their insurance company is trying to weasel out of any coverage we feel fortunate to have our insurance in such capable hands. Thank you Rob Cutting - State Farm Insurance for the fantastic service during such a catastrophic time.

I've been very disappointed with the handling of my State Farm claim through Rob Cutter's agency…read more The inspector did not enter the crawlspace, even though it was central to the moisture and mold issues I reported. My claim was denied, and after I raised concerns about the incomplete inspection, the same inspector was involved again. In my experience, communication was poor, and I do not believe the investigation was thorough. This has left me questioning the experience and qualifications of the people assigned to evaluate my claim. I strongly suggest anyone considering State Farm carefully review the policy's coverage, exclusions, and claim procedures before purchasing. When you need to file a claim, you expect a thorough inspection, clear communication, and a fair evaluation. I do not feel I received that.

After my truck was hit while parked (completely not my fault), Allstate turned what should have been a straightforward claim into a frustrating, drawn-out battle. Instead of properly repairing a vehicle I had just purchased two months prior, they focused on sourcing cheap, off-brand parts instead of OEM, clearly prioritizing their bottom line over restoring my vehicle correctly. It didn't stop there. They even tried to fight me over a sensor, dragging things out further instead of resolving the claim fairly. Then, to make matters worse, when I needed a rental -- something I KNOW I originally had on my policy -- suddenly it was "no longer included." Convenient timing. After a decade of loyalty, this is how they treat you when you finally need them. Allstate is great at taking your money, but when it's time to deliver, expect delays, excuses, and cost-cutting at your expense. I will NEVER use Allstate again. If you value your vehicle and your time, think twice before trusting them.

HOWEVER, in this case I feel that it is extremely necessary. My husband and I have banked with First Bank since coming to Wilmington, NC over 4 years ago. Have had excellent banking history and no issues what so ever. I went Friday to Close out my account. It was an incredibly hectic day. I had movers at my home from 8am until 6:30pm. Since we were moving to Tennessee it was necessary to close the account that day! I went in and the bank was very busy due to it being a Friday and after 4pm. The associate who helped me was incredibly kind, as they always are. The usual teller that I see wasn't there that day, so I worked with whoever was next in line. I was closing our checking and our savings, getting 3 cashiers checks, getting cash to hold us over for the weekend and asked specifically to leave a certain amount of money in the bank to cover any pending charges that may come through as I was instructed that the account COULD NOT be closed as there were pending charges, and to place the remaining balance in a cashiers check. I did ask to stop any further transactions from coming through, including the Cards! (Clearly that was not done at all as I had to handle that on Monday when I was informed that we had a NEGATIVE Ballance which stemmed from the amount not being left in our account that I directed to handle any pending possible transactions) NOW... almost a week later, due to an error (NOT on my part, the correct funds being left in our account as instructed) where the tellers cashed out our Entire Account, my husband and I are in the negative, which we are happy to Pay... HOWEVER... the bank is REFUSING to waive the Overdraft Fees that occurred Due to the Error caused by the teller not following my instructions. Had the amount I asked been left in the account... this would not even be an issue at all. SO... If i had to rate First Bank... It would receive 1 on a 5 scale. What happened to Customer Service? We have no issue taking care of what we owe... However I refuse to pay for someone else's mistake! Why when we were handling such sensitive information and the amounts we were handling was I not pulled into an office where we could communicate effectively and confidentially instead of out in the open in front of everyone! Again, after 4 years... just very disappointed and extremely disappointed.
