After moving to the Peninsula, I needed to find a new tax accountant since I didn't want to drive into the city. A friend recommended Totah Accounting. The office is rather inconspicuous and simple. If you drive too fast, you might miss it. Don't let this cover of the book fool you. The owner, Paul is very responsive and knowledgeable. In the case with my situation, I did not have a simple, straight deduction. There was no way I was able to do my taxes and risk getting audited by the IRS. Paul was able to navigate through all my documents and explain to me about the tax process. That was important to me b/c my prior tax person was not responsive and only called me when my taxes were complete. The receptionist who works the front office is great too. She was able to send me my previous documents encrypted via email. Totah Accounting is a "A+" business and gets my thumbs up! They may not be a big company like H&R Block, but I rather have the best service with a personal touch that Totah Accounting offers.

I highly recommend MC Accountancy to all small business owners…read more As a customer for over 5 years, we can attest to their friendly and knowledgeable service. My wife is a realtor and her business tax filings and our personal tax filings have always been difficult to sort out in a timely manner. Ming has been a great team to help us sort out tax season without the stress. But where Ming and his team really shine is how they help us manage our accounting needs for the business and our personal investments. Ming and his team have been incredibly helpful in organizing our expenses, managing payroll, and providing valuable tax strategies. Ming is very detail oriented and he's able to catch when we've made oversights. For example, one year, he was able to spot that there were two tax forms accidentally missing in our submission when he compared it to the prior year's submission. Ming continually keeps up with changes in the tax code, advising us on options that are now available that may possibly benefit both our personal filings as well as my wife's real estate business. We also like the app that he uses to allow us to review documents, upload documents, and send us notifications in a secure and centralized way. We can always log in and look at the history of our interaction. Thanks to their expertise, we've been able to maximize tax strategies and optimize our finances both for our personal finances and for my wife's business. MC Accountancy exceeds expectations and is a reliable financial partner for any business.

David M. Slosberg provides some of the worst tax preparation services I have ever experienced, and…read moreI would never use his office again. They incorrectly filed my W-4 form, which resulted in me owing the California State Tax Board $1,200--even though I did not work in California that year. When I was told his office needed to re-file the form to correct their mistake, I immediately reached out by phone, email, and text. Despite contacting them repeatedly for three months, I have received no response. Because of their negligence, I now owe even more due to late fees. This office not only mishandles critical tax documents but also abandons clients when problems arise. If you value accurate tax filing and reliable customer service, avoid David M. Slosberg. His office's incompetence and lack of accountability are unacceptable, and I will be reporting this business to the IRS for fraud and misconduct.

This firm went from exceptional to completely unprofessional overnight…read more I stayed with them for years solely because of Sam, who provided outstanding service. After the ownership change, it's clear that level of care is gone. What replaced it is a rigid, impersonal system that treats clients like transactions rather than relationships. They failed to notify clients of a major policy change regarding tax extensions until just days before the deadline--putting me at risk of non-compliance. When I raised concerns, their response was essentially: "This is our policy now, and if you don't like it, go somewhere else." No accountability. No attempt to fix the situation. No access to leadership. Just scripted responses from a support team. For a firm that benefited from years of loyalty and referrals, this is an incredibly poor way to treat clients. Avoid. UPDATE IN RESPONSE TO OWNER : Your response proves my point. After years of automatically handling my extensions, you changed the process right before a deadline, offered no real support, and told me to pay $240 or figure it out myself. Had I not followed up, I could have been penalized -- and now you're trying to turn it around and frame it as my fault by calling me "not engaged." After years of loyalty and referrals, this wasn't a transition -- it was a downgrade to a transactional model.
