He even found places where HR Block had done my husband's past taxes wrong, which cost my husband money (HR Block had caused my husband to pay taxes on investment income he'd already paid the taxes on through his employer's payroll deductions.) Patrick's hours are extremely flexible, even offering a mobile service. We were able to meet with him at his office in the late evening, convenient for both my husband and me. Weekend hours are also available. Because my husband had moved to Colorado last year, and we'd started a business together, our taxes were a bit more complicated, with multiple employers, multi-state, etc. Patrick handled it all with ease, and afterward gave us a neat folder with all the forms, attachments, etc. -- very organized. He filed our taxes electronically, which got us our Federal refund faster. (Colorado changed this year to paper checks for everyone....grrr!!) We really can't enough good things about Patrick and TaxPlus Financial. We'll be using him for all our tax needs, from now on. If you're looking for someone to do your taxes in the Denver area, definitely go see Patrick. You'll be very happy you did! (p.s. I had 30…read moreminute meeting with him discussed I would need a tax return for Utah and Colorado- I would have capitol gains from selling two properties and depreciation recapture. Marcus said no problem would probably cost around $1,000 and he would have them filed by April 15th. Wanting an update I contacted Tanner front desk the last week of March since I hadn't heard from them and left messages 3 different times that week for Marcus to please contact me with estimate of taxes owed (I knew I would owe $40,000 plus to Irs). Marcus never contacted me. All I wanted was a text or an email or a phone call but he couldn't be bothered (no one there could even return a call). Finally less than a week before April 15th my husband called the Tanner receptionist and said we wanted our tax documents back. My husband picked them up that day and all Marcus had to say was for us to file an extension - he hadn't even touched them. Filing the extension would have prevented us from getting the state of Colorado tabor refund of $1,600, which might not sound like much but when you are going to owe over $40,000 every little bit helps. There was no apology he didn't even care. My husband and I had to quickly take our info over to another company who worked very hard to get them filed by April 15th. Whatever you do don't go to Tanner or work with Marcus. They don't care about regular people. I guess we were just small potatoes to them.

I had deductions that were immediately overlooked, I even pointed them out since I had the same deductions the year prior- and rather than correct the return - she submitted it without allowing me to look first and told me "well it probably won't make a difference." I had to call multiple times without a response. After she begrudgingly added the deductions and amended the return, the difference was four figures on the return. She actually seemed ANGRY at me for insisting she take a look. She was more concerned with bad-mouthing the other employees (which I had to also listen to), so I knew waaaaay too much about her co-workers than I needed to. Flash to this year, 2018. Turns out, surprise, she didn't do my taxes correctly. I went to a CPA here and there are so many holes in my return I am SCARED to find out anymore. Since last week, I have been on the phone with 4 separate people trying to get the worksheets used and NOT ONE PERSON HAS RETURNED MY CALLS. I have moved out of state and there is no local office in my city - so other than contact the IRS directly, I don't know what else to do. POOR service, poor communication, and absolutely awful experience.
