However, times I've been there since have been quite different. Unfortunately I was there again last week. I thought I'd broken a rib and, after about 12 rays, they assured me I did not. The nurse practitioner(I believe) was kind, empathetic and displayed complete competence in her abilities. She put a rush on getting the X-rays read. Their X-ray technician has been there forever and that says something too. The facility is immaculate and the staff, as I said, was competent and empathetic. I got in quickly, having made an appointment online. Be advised. And when they called to advise of radiologist report, they apologized that "that happened to you". So many complaints about not seeing a doctor. My experience proves this to be incredibly unjust. I've talked at length many times w/ PAs and NPs and APRNs and they are thoroughly competent. Give them a chance and don't go by the letters.

I paid less there then than I did today. Hillcrest has bought the place and now the admission fee is $300, just to get in the door! The doctor and nurse were nice. But I spent less than 5 minutes with each, which hardly seems worth $300. Then the steroid shot I received was an additional $180. I spent $480 for a 5 minute chat, where the doctor couldn't say what caused my rash but gave me a shot. The receptionist was not rude but she wasn't warm either. I got a little upset when she said I owed an additional $180, & I stopped myself because I knew it wasn't her fault. But I don't have insurance. You know who usually doesn't have insurance? People who aren't working. Do you think that I have extra money just laying around to pay a doctor $300 for 5 minutes? We didn't sit on anything, or use anything, or contaminate anything. Now I get to choose between food and electricity, all while I get to pay interest fees over the next several months. I used to like this place because they were reasonably priced and offered discounts for the uninsured. Now it's part of the corporate machine that doesn't care about people, only profits. Way to go.
