My trainer at Genesis recommended I find someone that could provide Active Release Therapy. So, my usual Chiropractor would not suffice. I found Dr. Jon Messenger who was extremely nice, worked with me on expense (Contractor with no health insurance) and provided me solid Therapy that helped! But I'm driven, and I wasn't getting the relief as quickly as I hoped. So I became desperate, and as I sat in the parking lot of Subway, I spotted Back to Basics Chiropractic and Acupuncture. Hmm? Maybe they could help. I went in and spoke to the receptionist who set me up with an immediate "free" consultation with Dr. Devin. Dr. Devin was very nice. She said they could set me up with an Xray, do an evaluation and even provide me pain relieving therapy THAT DAY. Her assistant would come in and talk to me about price. I don't recall the exact amounts but I want to say the Xray was $120 (way more than most chiros), the evaluation was $30 (which amounted to a very basic 1 minute impingement test, which I already knew I had), and another $100 for some very needed "pain relieving therapy." As I said, I was desperate, and agreed, hoping in my heart of hearts the therapy would give me use of my shoulder back. Sadly, the therapy turned out to be this assistant effectively having me lay down on my stomach and clicking on three different spots (ear, neck and back) with what seemed like the back of a clicky pen. Then said, "there you go." Incredulously I asked "that's it?" and he said, "yep, it's electric acupuncture." .... I gathered my belongings, paid the $250, and left feeling robbed, cheated and taken advantage of. My wife called to complain and explain the "therapy" had done nothing, assuming the battery in his pen had died, but the receptionist was RUDE to her. That same day the receptionist sent me a text message...asking when I could come in for my next over priced session. I told her I would not be coming back, and to please send my Xrays to Dr. Messenger. She did not reply, and I have not heard back from them since. 0/10. Would not recommend.
