I called within 3 days of contract to cancel a medical transport because it I was concerned for our health. The drive would be 8 hours with staff unmasked and not required to be vaccinated. This trip ended as a nightmare for my brother-in-law. Traveling from Florida to North Carolina was a 12 hour trip. At the end of the trip our home had to be unlocked for my brother-in-law to be taken from the van. They did remove him but did not strap him in on the gurney..his body that was in horrific pain fell from the gurney. The "nurse" on this trip did not bother to strap him on to a gurney that was moved from a vehicle to a house. Is that not what "nurses" do??! If you care for your loved one DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. They may have ten friends that can write a good review, but don't be fooled..they are expensive and worthless!! read more

Not knowing anything about this kind of service, our family did some research and decided that ACC Medlink would be a good choice. Boy were we wrong. It was a great choice! From the initial phone calls to find out about their service, to arranging the transport, to the arrival of the crew, and then the actual trip (20 hours- almost to the minute of their estimate weeks before the trip). This was for our mother was was not feeling well and needed to be uprooted to another state with our father. Not the easiest of circumstances but the ACC Medlink crew was kind and professional All around great job and we are grateful for how well they took care of our mother. Please do not believe what this company advertises. They charge an outrageous amount of money for a long and unpleasant ride for people who are in feeble condition. My mother was transported for 15 hours and ended up wearing a soiled diaper for a good part of the ride. They promised a nurse and two drivers. She received just two drivers. They also made unscheduled stops which resulted in the trip taking longer than expected. They say wonderful things to get your money but if you look at the fine print on the contract, it says that any promises not contained in the contract are not enforceable. When we called after the trip asking for an explanation of the meager service they provided, they resorted to saying people weren't in the office to avoid our calls. Yet when we called back moments later, those people answered the phone. They ended up offering no resolution and instead blamed my 77 year-old mother for being a difficult patient. Unbelievable. If I could do zero stars I would. Do not use this service! Absolutely terrible customer service and misrepresentation of what the service offers. I was hung up on by Maria and treated so rudely. We had to cancel months in advance as their policy changed - despite CDC's recommendation of masks in medical settings, they no longer have staff wear masks as "covid is over and this is Florida.' My Dad has a terminal lung disease and would likely die from a mere cold. So we had to cancel. They also say the service is with nurses but they do not have nurses for all rides - many are not. This is a profit making business, not a place that cares about patients or people. I have read many terrible reviews one person stated they left a medical passenger in diapers for 14 hours and do not have toilets even thought they say they do- I wish I had listened to these reviews. They are refusing to give us back $1,000 even though their policy changed. Sorry to be so rough- I never do this, but it is a life or death matter for my father and they simply were awful. I had my doubts based on some of the reviews, but my personal experience for me and my dad was amazing. We transported from a rehab center in Florida, to an Assisted Living Facility in Texas and the 13 hour trip was a trip to remember. Drivers Patrick and Russ were friendly and kind. Nurse Brenda was as good as it gets and gave my dad constant care and attention. My dad loved the crew and was as lively as I had seen him in the last two tough weeks for him. He chatted with the crew and we watched some movies in the back on the way. He enjoyed the meal stops and snacks on board the transport. It did get warm in back but they turned on the ac and opened the back vents and problem solved. I want to thank ACC Medlink for taking the worry out of this journey for us. The company's reputation, testimonials and other related materials led me to believe that ACC Medlink would provide high-quality service and attention to safety in transporting my 95-year-old father from Colchester, CT, to his home on Long Island, NY. My dad is a proud and heroic veteran of WWII and I was doubly pleased to learn of the special interest that ACC Medlink maintains for veterans. As I look back at the decision to select ACC Medlink and learning from my father how he was treated on his journey, I have no hesitation recommending ACC Medlink to others given the first-rate and first-class service and attention provided to my father, who by the way still plays his clarinet in a concert band which performs at various venues on Long Island. Do Not Use This Company Ever! ACC Medlink charged me the full amount of a negotiated transportation for a family member even though services were not performed. Do not fall for the $500 cancellation fee as advertised. This is one of the most unethical companies period. All they care about is swindling you out of your money. Pro Tip, if you decide to use this company or any other company like it, pay the fees with a credit card. This company will try to entice you to pay with a check or wire transfer adding a 4% fee for a credit card transaction. I had a dispute with this company for services that were not performed. Their customer service is pathetic. I immediately contacted my credit card company and wished to dispute the charges by ACC Medlink. All charges were removed from my credit card and as far as I know ACC Medlink did not receive any payment. If I had paid by wire transfer or check, that money would be gone. Do not use them. They just took $5,940.00 from us because of Covid19. They refuse any refund even though we did not cancel. The home that we were transporting my family member to had to shut down because someone tested positive. As I tried to speak to Kaley, she constantly interrupted me and I eventually hung up on her. I wanted to think this would be a great experience, but it was not. Very little communication from the company before the scheduled day of service, I had to ping them. Transfer from Medford, OR to Olympia, WA for my mom who has dementia. She is not medically fragile, but with COVID didn't want to risk anything. Over $7000! Promised meals, toileting, stops, videos and TV and stops along the way. Pickup at 7am. First stop to refuel and for breakfast. Gas station food. Atrocious. NO OTHER STOPS. Zero. Not even asking. She is incontinent and got really roughly changed by the "nursing" staff who didn't seem to know what she was doing. She was probably annoyed at having to do anything that took her away from her phone, which she was on via texting, etc. most of the way. And the television was broken, and there was nothing to do for her at all. That's fine, she got a good rest in. What a giant ripoff. Won't recommend them to anyone. read more

To whom it may concern: My husband Lee Weinstein hired your company to transport my brother in law Dr. Phillip (sb Philip) Long Beach CA to Assisted Living center in Denver CO. I was scheduled to accompany my brother in law Phil. We were picked up at 7 pm on Monday October 7th 2019. I knew this was going to be a long, difficult trip and tried to bring things to keep me busy and as comfortable as possible. We also paid additional $ to have a woman nurse($600). We got into the van. I was not sure where to sit, but my husband had told me there would be a captains chair reserved for me. The chair was piled high with the belongings of the nurse, with her soda in the cup holder. She asked if I wanted to sit there and I said yes. She seemed upset and moved her items. She finished with Phil and came back to me. She asked if she could sit in the chair for awhile and I said yes but that I expected the chair to be rotated. I asked if there was a seat belt on the bed and she said no one uses them and everyone is fine and doesn't have a problem. I asked if it sat up she lifted the side closest to her a couple of inches and said here you go. She couldn't get the dvd on so it was lights out. Remember its 7:30, I'm wide awake and a little nervous knowing no one other than the patient. I watched a movie on my ipad, played a few games sitting up, tried to lie down but couldn't get comfortable. We stopped, filled with gas and used the restroom. I was getting tired so once again tried to lie down. Drove, watched another movie but the smell was getting bad. I thought it was gas or something. This made me a little nervous. I was also experiencing sliding around on my bed and I was cold. Phil was already wrapped up like a mummy, as the nurse slept away. The blankets would fall off of him and it was I who covered him up, I guess the nurse was tired. At one of the stops I approached one of the drivers and said I think I smell gas. He chuckled and said it's not gas, the vehicles uses diesel and got back in to drive. I skipped getting out the next stop and so did the nurse sleeping like a baby. I still have not gone to sleep as we approach the Colorado boarder. All of a sudden the nurse decides to finally be nice to me. She wants breakfast. I told her fast-food, that's it. When getting out the floor was slick and I almost fell, but twisted my back catching myself. Phil, the nurse and I complained about the smell. We were told it was the smell from the gas station when we opened the door. Phil asked to stop to use the restroom. We stopped in Edwards CO. I am a mess. I have a splitting headache, nauseous and disgusted with the treatment I have experienced. I didn't say a word because this was for Phil and I was dependent on everyone else to get us home. We all got out of the vehicle, except Phil and the Nurse. Once again when I got up to leave the floor was like a ice rink I slipped and really did a number on my way out. I picked up my cloth bag that was on the floor and Set it on the drivers bed. I went to lift it up again and it was leaving an oily mark on the bed. As I almost fell going down the stairs my feet were soaked with oil. I told one of the drivers. He opened the backdoor and we saw it on the floor. It's like someone spilled a bottle. He got a number of paper towels and wiped it with his foot. They were soaked with oil. It took him awhile to figure out and find the problem. At the first stop for gas they changed the oil filter. They put the old one in a box and stored it under the head of my bed. No wonder I couldn't lie down. That would have put the smell at my face. I have learned later that Phil was not only covering his face because of the cold, but also because of the smell. He was nauseous and would not eat because of that. I walked around quite a bit when in Edwards because my back, legs and hips were stiff. When I was getting in the nurse was sitting in the chair. I stated I'm sitting in the chair. She said of course. The other driver said "you knew she has been waiting for it the entire night but you wouldn't give it up". The back of the van is the roughest, coldest and most uncomfortable part of the vehicle. I don't mind taking turns and working together but I was taken advantage of. The nurse explained to me how she can't sleep on the bed because it hurts her back and she is getting older. Well I'm 60 and also hurt. Your clients should be told to wear long underwear to stay warm. They argued with me about turning on the heat, when they finally did it made the oil stink worse. The nurse we paid extra for used my $600 suitcase as a footrest without asking and only helped the patient once to use the urinal in Edwards CO. I always stand up for myself but felt trapped. I felt we could be left at the side of the road and abandoned, since I knew no-one. All my personal items were ruined. Sent this letter to the company, with no response. My family and I had a very poor experience with ACC Medlink. We hired the company to transport my mom from an upstate NY rehab facility to my home in Charlotte, NC for a fee of $4,400. The crew planned to leave for the 12 hour trip at 8pm and drive throughout the night. We paid in full with a credit card when the transport was booked. Unexpectedly, my mom became very ill the morning of the planned trip and was transported from the rehab facility to the local hospital. My dad immediately called ACC Medlink to let them know the circumstances. They said they already had a crew in the area of the rehab facility (they apparently came from NJ, drove to upstate NY, got a hotel to rest before their journey). He told them as soon as we had a status on my mom's condition we would let them know and hopefully use their services once she was stable. She passed away. My dad called ACC Medlink again to let them know that my mom had passed. He talked with the "co-owner" to request a partial refund, she said that no type of refund would be given regardless of the circumstances. She was very curt and lacked sympathy stating "they have to make a living". Before my dad called, we reread through the ACC Medlink contract. The cancellation policy was vague stating refunds were at the discretion of the company. It is absolutely reasonable for us to pay them for their time, crew, etc. However, to pay in full - when the 12 hr trip to Charlotte, NC never happened due to circumstances beyond our control brings more stress and heartache to an already painful situation. I am sure if we were able to use their services they would have done a fine job. However, be sure to clarify what should happen if unforeseen circumstances arise as it is unclear in their written contract. The co-owners tone and lack of sympathy was disappointing. read more

ACC Medlink, a division of Air Critical Care, was contracted to transport an 85-year-old extremely frail female dementia patient from a home care facility in Sun City, AZ to another home care facility in Poway, CA at a cost of $5,950. We selected them based on their assurances of a safe and comfortable trip, in their non-emergency ambulance, both on the phone and in their advertising: https://medic-trans.com/accmedlink The trip was scheduled for June 19, 2016 and to take approximately 6 hours door to door. It was a typically hot summer day in the Arizona/California desert with temperatures from 114-120 degrees. From the onset of the trip it became apparent that the Air Conditioning in the rear of the Mercedes ambulance was blowing nothing but hot air. Repeated attempts by the staff to improve the temperature failed. The interior temperature in the rear of the vehicle reached 100 degrees as indicated by the thermometer in the ambulance. Both the 60-year-old female passenger and the 85-year-old patient were becoming dehydrated and suffering from the intense heat. A cold cloth for the patient's head had to be requested although did little to relieve the oven-like ride. At approximately halfway through the trip the driver pulled into a gas station to move the patient from her hospital bed to the front passenger seat to take advantage of the cool air in the front of the ambulance. This proved to be more difficult than expected as the patient cannot walk or stand and the height of the van made it difficult lift her into the seat. While they figured out how to get her into the seat she sat outside the van baking in the 120-degree sun. The front seat did provide some relief for the patient; however, the awkward seating position and the lack of hydration delivered her to the Poway facility dehydrated and unable to lift her head. All in all it was a life threatening experience. A complete polar opposite of the care we expected for a very expensive ride. The following day, June 20, an email was sent to the office manager per ACC Medlink's recommendation. It described the situation and how disappointed we were with the level of service. No immediate response was received. On June 28 we spoke with the office manager and she explained that the van was not equipped to operate in high heat. When she asked what we wanted we said a refund. She said she needed to consult with her supervisor and would return the call on June 29. Call was not returned. We called two more times on July 5 and 6. Again no returned calls. On July 7 we sent an email explaining our dismay about the lack of communication and asked that we receive a call by EoB July 11 or we'd take further steps. The office manager did call on July 8 and offered a $200 (3.3%) refund. This was not acceptable given the ordeal that the patient and passenger endured. We called back July 11 to reject the $200 offer and the explanation that their fleet of Mercedes ambulances could not cool passengers in the summer. We did mention that we were prepared to seek legal action if a satisfactory refund was not offered and accepted. The office manage said she would consult with her manager and Legal department and committed to return the call on July 13. No call was returned. We tried to reach the office manager on July 15; we were told she was unavailable. We left a message with the receptionist asking for a return call. On July 20 with no call back from ACC Medlink, we called again. The office manager answered the main number. We asked why she didn't call back. She replied that the Legal department instructed her to ignore our calls because we threatened to sue. She once again offered the $200. We again rejected the offer. I asked when I could expect a call from the Legal department. She committed to calling back on July 21. No call received. ACC Medlink needs to accept responsibility for a horrific experience. We have done our best to work things out but their unprofessional hope that we'll go away is not in the spirit of Better Business. read more

Thank you to the team at ACC for helping assist my father to his home in Illinois. During a visit to see me in Texas my father fell and broke his leg making his flight home impossible. ACC was a wonderful experience. I was able to travel with him, the ride went smoothly and the nurse was able to assist in transport. Very professional organization and first-rate transportation equipment. The staff arrived precisely on time and handled the transfer of my mom for an 8-hour ride with as little pain for her as they could manage. (You just get some pain at 93 years old ...) Their plan was to keep the trip as short as possible by traveling overnight, which would hypothetically be most effective for a patient sleeping as well. (Didn't quite work out that way.) The support medical person was prepared and well qualified. The only improvement (and one I requested, which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5) would be a gender-aligned support team member (female to match my mom rather than a male, based on required diaper changes overnight). However, he displayed a professional demeanor in conversation before the trip, and properly trained medical personnel handle all patients equally. Net: the trip went relatively quickly and safely without incident. Good job! read more

I absolutely do NOT recommend ACC-MEDLINK for transporting elderly people long distance. I engaged this company to bring my 94-year-old mother from Florida to New York. I chose them specifically because they could provide the 24x7 oxygen care she needed. She had COPD. The trip was uncomfortable, unneccessarily long, expensive, and took a terrible toll on my mother's health. She died shortly after arriving in NYC. The van bed was like a hospital gurney, extremely narrow. The van was not as roomy as the pictures indicated. The ride was terribly bumpy and painfully uncomfortable for my mother. ACC-MEDLINK never discussed any health concerns with me. Very soon after they picked my mother up in Florida, they realized that the oxygen in the van was not working. This should have been checked BEFORE picking up my mother. They provided a backup tank for the short term, but lost over 4 hours driving to switch vans. The 20-hour estimated trip ultimately took 27 hours. I believe that the additional 7 hours riding in a very uncomfortable van took a toll on my mother's health and exacerbated her condition. The drivers and nurse on board were very nice and helpful. Unfortunately, I had paid in full in advance for the trip. ACC-MEDLINK was very unresponsive to my calls. The fact that the oxygen was not in proper working order was completely unacceptable and negligent on their part. After having to continually call them, they ultimately offered me a mere $100 refund out of the $7,100 I had spent. Before transporting anyone that is not well, have a detailed discussion about health concerns and make a more informed decision than I did. There are many other companies that provide similar services. Do NOT choose ACC-MEDLINK. read more

I needed to transport my father for my mother's funeral. I called them Tuesday, May 28 in the evening for transport Saturday, June 1. They quoted me a price; I said I needed to talk to my sister about the price; they said that was fine and they understood. I spoke with my sister and we agreed to pay their very high fees. I e-mailed them back the next morning before 9am to indicate we would move ahead and could they charge my credit card - whatever we needed to do to book the service. I did not hear back. I e-mailed again that afternoon (I was in meetings most of the day and could not call). I still heard nothing. I then received a call the following Thursday, asking when I wanted to transport my father. I told them Saturday, June 1, as I previously stated. They said they were booked. "What about another day?" I said I could not move it because the funeral was that day. "Can you move the funeral?" I began to get angry. The woman on the phone - Maria - was extremely condescending and rude. I said "Why is no one calling before now to tell me this?" She claimed I never responded. I cited both e-mails, which she initially denied that I sent. She then apparently saw the e-mails and changed her story to "Well, you were told Tuesday that things change by the minute and if you didn't book immediately you could lose out." I was never told this. I agreed the next morning before 9am. No one contacted me for 26 hours. Any business that tries to take advantage of people as they do - "If you don't book immediately, you won't get our service" - and that is as unbelievably rude as they are should not get any business. Especially when the customer rep screams at you - a few days after your mother dies - that "It's YOUR problem because YOU didn't sign a service agreement!" No one ever sent me a service agreement, which I would have signed if given the opportunity. Apparently, it was all my fault for wanting to talk it over with my sister. I would never use this company, ever, for any reason. read more

We paid $3,400 to transport my husband from Knoxville, TN to mid Illinois after a hospital stay for a broken leg. The medical staff person seemed uncaring and not interested in instructions on pickup. I later learned that my husband was only given some applesauce and a milkshake during the 500 mile trip because he didn't want mashed potatoes or soup and the medical person told him that he didn't want to take any chances with him eating solid food. My husband did not receive his scheduled medication during the trip although the medical attendent had been given the bag of medicine and told each bag was clearly marked as to the medication and the time to give it. When told he would need to look at each back, he said, "I can do that." I even took pictures of the bags to show the company that he did not receive his medicine as ordered. When our displeasure at the lack of care my husband received was voiced to the company representative, I was told that they would work to insure that it didn't happen again, but no offer was made to compensate us at all. I certainly would not use this company again, and I certainly will not recommend it. An air mattress in the back of a rented van would have done just as well for my husband and been a lot more economical. read more

Be very careful with this company. My mother was scheduled to move interstate but we had to postpone the trip twice due to a bout with pneumonia. Sadly, Mom is now in Hospice with no hope of recovery, so we had to cancel the trip. Despite following the rules about postponing trips (48+ hours notice) to avoid incurring charges, we were still charged a $500 cancellation fee (on an estimated trip cost of $2900). If you choose this company I hope you have no sudden health problems with a patient which would cause a postponement or cancellation of the trip. It will cost you! read more
