After waiting on hold for 20 minutes and getting no help. I decided to visit the office for my business. Two associates were helping two other clients. I was told to have a seat. About 10 minutes later I was finally "checked" in. 12 minutes (I started a timer) I was finally helped. Mind you, I watched an associate leave the office while I was waiting. TERRIBLE. RIP OFF. NAUSEATING. EVELIN Those words come to mind when I think about Academy Insurance. The words are all caps because im screaming when I say them. EVELIN at the Hawthorne office was my broker and she is not a good person. I pretty sure she feeds birds just to kick them when they get close and she probably tortures kittens. I wasn't hip to the scam of insurance brokers but I am now. I was charged $460 dollars to start a full coverage policy with Infinity. It was shocked but paid it because it needed to be done and I'm a busy man. Upon calling Infinity I find that the down payment made to them was $180 and that $280 was THE BROKER FEE. Really? $280 for some 18yo to look up different policies on a computer. Total ripoff. Not only that, I also discovered that EVELIN quoted and set me up for $140 dollar payments per month, but after calling Infinity they said that was incorrect and based on my MVR my payment should only be $117. Not only is she an insurance terrorist but she is also incompetent and a liar. I dislike her to the fullest extent of disliking a person. To make matters worse, I called her manager to inquire about broker fees. The manager said that the broker can charge how ever much they believe is fair for the work they do. They can charge $0 or $500 it depends. So this Jezebel charged me $280 for 10min of work. Prostitutes dont even make that much in 10mins and work way harder than EVELIN. Don't go to Academy Insurance. Ever. Don't ever go to any insurance brokers before checking directly with the Insurance companies yourself. Please. You have been warned. With my Driving record I was eligible to get insurance with several top companies with little to no money down. People like EVELIN just prey on the ignorance of people like me. Never again. I started a new policy a month ago which by the way was very difficult because they dont go over your coverage they just say their moto is to find you the cheapest option, anyways they made me pay broker fees and other fees which they cant even explain to you they claim those fees are charge by the insurance in this case is alliance, anyways I decided to get the insurance because I had no choice I need my cars to be covered I asked to placed on auto pay which came to find out I was never place on auto pay and my policy got canceled, Maria called me over the phone and said I need to make a payment to reinstate my policy but auto pay was not going to be part of it since is a yearly contract not month to month anyways Maria along with her "Manager" re-quoted me with a better insurance claiming I dont have to pay broke fees and all those hidden fees since it was not my fault this even happen I aoofer to pay over the phone since going to the actual store is a nightmare, anyways she said I have to go to a store soni can sign new paperwork, I got the surprise that everything Maria said to me was false and that to start my new policy I had to pay and additional 150.00 fee from alliance and that there will be no broker fees, when I asked a breakdown for the payment I have to make today there was not a clear explanation where the addionational 150.00 came from NOT A SURPRISE coming from this place I got super irritated to know that the representative helping was doing her best to work with me she reached out to her supervisors and nobody came out to help me at all!! They were talking on the phone about my policy but not once offer to come out to speak to me this is shady and I see alot of people coming in here with same problems and their solutions is to start new policies WE ALL KNOW EVERYTIME THEY START YOU WITH A NEW POLICY THE MAKE MORE MONEY HELLO!! this is the worst place to come for car insurance this should be an easy transaction I mean we are not but houses or cars is just insurance.
