After all, what could go wrong about just bringing in the paper I got from ICBC, paying and getting my new insurance sticker...?? So that's what I did: went in with my notice from ICBC knowing exactly what I wanted and how much it would be. Simple enough, I thought. I gave this paper to the girl and had my wallet ready to go. When she started going over every single item in my insurance, and how everything should be upgraded, emphasizing how important it would be to extend my 3rd party liability to 5 million or I would be in big trouble, and upgrade comprehensive because anything could chip my glass and I would get into an accident, and so on ... Here: I only use this car on the weekend. It is an old car and I don't care much if it gets chips on the glass. I know what each item on the insurance paper means and I just really wanted the basic! (And I already have 3 million liability anyways). Long story short (well, not so short at this point...), I got really annoyed at her trying to up sell everything. I just wanted it to be over! So I said I was in a hurry, politely declined every offer, paid and ran away! I will not be a returning customer here. I dislike when people try to push me things I don't want...

She was condescending, rude, offensive, and a bully. She made me extremely uncomfortable, made insinuations, and suggested I come back "another time" because I had my baby with me. She spent more time "lecturing" me about her job over and over than listening to the client or even remotely trying to help. She also refused to return my personal information, which is against the privacy protection act, when I had had enough of her behavior and advised I revoked my consent. It was clear she enjoyed making feel bad and turning what should have been an easy process into a very upsetting one, maybe it made her feel better about herself? I ended up walking out and will never use any Jonston Meier Insurace agency for myself, my family or recommend any of my friends ever do again. She refused to let me speak with a manager then gave me the wrong contact info for one. When I located the proper contact information for the manger and emailed about my horrible experience she never bothered reaching out or acknowledging my experience or email at all. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Dont waste your time here, go somewhere they actually CARE about thier customers.

    ZERO STARS! Would've been my choice if given the option…read more Although I am quite happy with my Autoplan insurance, discounted rate and coverage, I was displeased by "Tracy". She is by far the most incompetent and uncaring person in all British Columbia. I was importing a car from the US and needed temporary insurance to bring the car into Canada for inspection. I waited 10 minutes for Tracy to finish assisting another customer, then she greeted me. She said that my request was complicated and asked to assist another customer behind me. I then waited 20 more minutes before she assisted me again. She said she couldn't give me the insurance until she saw my original title and told me to return. Wasted my time. I (stupidly) returned and purchased the temporary insurance. I returned a week later (after the car passed the inspection) and wanted to get insurance. I bought all the necessary paperwork, but Tracy didn't know what to do. She could'nt find the VIN # in her database. She called the border services for assistance, she kept helping other customers and made me wait. I asked Tracy if she knew what she was doing, she said yes. But I didn't believe her. She kept pulling out rule books and trying to figure out which forms she needed. After 2 hours of wasted time, I told her that this process is taking a long time and I feel we are going nowhere. She then told me to go contact the border offices and the british columbia tax franchise for additional paperwork. I left and went to another Autoplan. Within 15 minutes, I had license plates! The other person (at a different location) was knowledgeable and fast. Apparently, imported cars do not have their VIN #'s in the Canadian ICBC database, A tax-free form can be used to bypass taxes (which was given to me) and Tracy was just incompetent. As I returned to London Drugs later that week, Tracy saw me and she immediately pointed me out to another employee working with her. I saw their stares as I walked by. I don't know what she said, but screw her! She's the idiot. If you need help with your auto insurance, go somewhere else. If you need to go to this location, just make sure you're not serviced by Tracy.

Instead of being nice he was acting like dealing with my business was an inconvenience. The gal sitting next to him was nice and chatted a bit but the fellow working with me had the customer service skills of a rock. I cancelled the insurance on my car then placed storage insurance on it. When he completed both he handed me the storage insurance papers but not the cancellation papers. I asked him for them and he said he had already given them to me. When I advised he hadn't he argued that he did and went as far as to say I put them in my pocket. I had to insist three times that he hadn't given me the papers as well as prove they weren't in the insurance folder or my pockets so he finally took a look under his counter and guess what, there were the papers. He half heartedly apologized but really? Definitely won't be heading back there with my insurance business again.
