On Mother's Day my husband took me to the TLC on Memorial to select an orchid. I have 6 orchids in…read moremy home and know how to care of them. The orchid I chose at TLC had a couple of areas on the leaves that looked like cotton. I took it back to the information desk and the women wiped off the white area and told me it would be fine. My husband purchased the orchid for me for $60.00. Unfortunately, the white chalky substance kept coming back. I googled the information and found out it had mealybugs. I followed the directions to clean the area with alcohol. After trying to remove it for two months without success, I took the plant back to TLC today to ask for help. Paul, the manager was at the front door and told me to go to the middle of the store to talk to the woman at the information desk. She determined the mealybugs were in the potting media which is why I could not eliminate them with alcohol. She said she could repot the orchid but there would be a cost. Obviously, the potting media was infected when the orchid was purchased two months ago. I was insulted when told I would have to pay for the repotting process. I spoke with the manager, Paul, and he told me house plants do not have any type of warranty. I learned a lesson today. I will not buy house plants from TLC! I will buy them at a business that carries a warranty for a third of the cost! Susan M Reply to Frank on July 18 Frank, I would appreciate a retraction on your response. The orchid WAS purchased at TLC on May 6! The above story is accurate except for the amount spent ($50 instead of $60). I had not looked up the receipt before coming by TLC yesterday. The reference number on the receipt is 32073802. The total amount spent that day was $122.70. I have 6 very healthy orchids purchased at different locations. The white pot left with the orchid must have been switched while watering. The orchid purchased from Whole Foods is healthy and doing well. Actually, over the years I have never had a problem with an orchid being affected with mealybugs except for the orchid purchased at TLC. One statement you made is correct. This is the first review I have made on YELP because I wanted to let others know that customer service is questionable at your business. I understand policy is policy on the return of houseplants. I was not upset until being told there would be a charge to repot the plant. It didn't make sense for me as the customer, to pay to correct a problem that I wasn't responsible for. It would have cost very little for your employee to offer to repot the plant for free.

I'll continue to update this review as we move through the process. -------------------------------------------- We hired Nelson Landscaping to improve our poolside area in Edmond, aiming for something cohesive and functional. While the crews were great, the rest of the experience left us frustrated--and stuck with a space that doesn't work. We were sold on flagstone set in decomposed granite (DCG), but in reality it's totally impractical for a pool patio. The DCG is rough on bare feet and constantly washes into the pool, staining our new concrete. Worst of all, the amount of flagstone was drastically underquoted. When I pointed this out, they came back with filler pieces, which helped visually--but it's still not functional. The area is uncomfortable and not practical for furniture or barefoot traffic, which was the entire point of the project. Communication was poor. We were rarely informed when crews would show up, and a comment from the salesman ("all you women want to see what it's going to look like") when I asked for visuals was unprofessional and frustrating. A concrete crack formed within a month, which is still unaddressed a year later as no one returned my multiple calls. I even reached out to the owner whose email address is listed on the website and still only heard back from our salesman. The crews did great work--but the planning, oversight, and professionalism were severely lacking. If you're hiring Nelson Landscaping for pool area landscaping, flagstone patios, or outdoor design in Edmond, ask a lot of questions and don't rely on them to act like the experts. Okay so maybe I just really want to make some Pico Dr Gallo! Well they have the plants, so why not ?? Something unique that I really love here are the large hanging planters that they create. I purchased one that has a variety of beautiful greenery mixed with purple wandering Jew. Silly name, I know, but it is beautiful. Next time I am going to buy a pink bongabilia. The last time I came, I bought different lettuces and green onion and they are still growing strong in my pots at home. What a cute place! Staff were cheerfully greeting us left and right. They had so many of them! What an energetic lot as well. We were offered a cart twice as we wandered around and I find that so welcoming as a couple of my regular nurseries, as lovely as they are, have never taken the time to do the same. As we are literally on the verge of fall, pumpkins, mums, pansies, colourful ornamental cabbages etc. etc. in all their gloriousness were everywhere! They even had a few discounted summer plants too. For a small store they had a good variety of everything. We especially loved the pots and decorations inside the store. They carry products that I don't see in other garden shops which was a nice change. Although we didn't pick up anything today as I'm still in the planning stage of my flowerbed, we will be back once my ideas are more solid. As a non-gardener I don't want to buy everything on a whim, although it takes a lot of restraint, because all the plants and flowers are super enticing but would rather map things out in a drawing first. They all seem to love plants themselves and own ones that thrive under their care. They are always open to answer questions about plants that arent even bought in their store. They always take great care of their plants and have a fun variety! The prices are higher than other places but you are getting a healthy plant. You can also find great soil and fertilizer here, along with fun pots. I have stuck to strictly buying houseplants because that's my jam, but they have a great outdoor selection in the spring and summer. I highly recommend. Even though it is a chain, you can see the passion that these people put into their work.

They came out in full force and installed the lawn, flower beds, and sprinkler system. It looked good. In late 2021, the lawn eventually died and the sprinklers needed adjustment. I tried to reschedule a seed, fertilizer, and sprinkler adjustment but was consistently told to call back during the "next season" as it wasn't a good time. As a loyal customer, I tried over a half dozen times, each time being asked to call back "next season". The lawn is now dead and the sprinklers out of control. I called today as instructed last time. I was told that Norman isn't in their service area. I asked for recommendations and the assistant said they had none. No other explanations were offered for the service refusal or why they kept saying call back "next season". Was this a case of take-the-money and run? I guess a phone call to the franchise headquarters will sort this out.
