I've never posted a review before, but I feel like this church is worth it. Anyone who has ever thought about going to Abundant, formerly called Alfc (Always Looking For Cash), should discard that thought immediately. As someone who has attended Abundant for 17 years, I think I've given them a fair shot, and the only reason I have sat through that many attempts to get my money (they call them sermons) is because my family has been going there for decades. In the beginning, I actually enjoyed going there, but over the past ten years or so, my view of that cultish place has changed drastically. I first started questioning the sincerity of the pastors when the son of Pastor Charles started to get very annoying. He would always try and be funny with his dumb face-making and low-quality jokes, but when he started tooting his own horn about how great his marriage is and bragging on how his wife is the city attorney, which I'm sure she got that spot with the help of a few favors for people (wink, wink), I couldn't take it anymore. But that was just the beginning; then he starts talking about his public speaking degree, which makes sense that he has that degree, considering how bad his book is, and on top of that he would say some pretty dumb things. For example, one time when he first got on stage, the first thing he said was, '"Sex is amazing," with a huge smile on his face, like he had just gotten some before service. Something people don't know about him is that when he was a teenager at the church, a close family friend of mine who was working at the church saw Jared standing awkwardly outside one of the bathrooms. When the worker went into the bathroom, two of Jared's friends were taking turns doing sexual acts to a girl, who was supposedly Jared's girlfriend. The worker told Charles and then was immediately fired. No better than Jared is Shannon, the entitled princess of abundant. She reeks of arrogance and entitlement. if you've ever wondered about her sermons, let me break it down for you. First, she asks for your money while wearing designer clothes and a Rolex watch on her wrist. Then, she talks about how her mom died and how "devastating" that was for her, which I'm tired of hearing about because a lot of people have lost someone in their life, but most don't have a huge home and an inheritance of expensive items and trips to Europe; most just have to pay for the funeral of that person whom they lost, and all they get is a bottle of ashes. But back to the sermon, next she "paints a picture for you" of how good God has been to her, which I'm sure he has been good to her considering how nice her house is with its pool, courtyard, and huge square footage, plus the fact that she probably gets a housing allowance to pay for that house by doing the "lord's work." Then towards the end of the sermon, she just gets loud and raises her arms in the air and gets everybody excited. then she is escorted out of the auditorium by her security guards, whom she doesn't even thank for giving her a water bottle or helping her on or off the stage. End of service. Lastly, there's Charles, the big kahuna, the head honcho, the man who started it all with a dream from God. He's the reason his kids have turned out the way they are--entitled, arrogant, and self-absorbed. With the demographic of his church, it's easy to see why he has been able to manipulate so many people for nearly fifty years Overall, the Niemans just want your money to fuel their lavish lifestyles. They try and direct the attention off of them by offering expired food on the weekends and having prayer groups for the broken, but it's all just a facade to cover their wrong and sinful lives of stealing from desperate people who are hurting and have nowhere to turn but them. I can't stand how they stand in their multi-million dollar buildings and ask for money while they wear watches that cost more than most people's cars. They claim that they were poor when they first started out, but there are numerous stories that disprove that. They are corrupt. They are frauds. Their sermons are total garbage with no effort or intellect, and it sounds like the same thing is said every single week. These people need to be exposed. People treat them like they are gods and listen to everything they say and cherish every word. It's disgusting. read more

Went one time and never again. The pastor ( Jared Nieman) is money hungry. Every other word out of his mouth was "donate" and everyone was just eating it up like he wasn't manipulating them. People are seeking wisdom and this guy is not it. read more

I love the environment, the people and the pastor when he gives the message of our lord. Love coming here, but the reason why I give them a 1 Star was because my kids got restricted to go to their Saturday/Sunday school. That new 30 minute rule does not make sense for the reason that the kids won't learn what the preacher is speaking cus they find it boring, so this is why those ministries exist right so they learn the fun way. Yes I was late a couple of minutes but traffic is unpredictable how is that the fault of someone who lives in central. Sorry but I'm not coming here again till that rule is removed. read more

We were newlyweds, 2 years married and living apart on the brink of divorce, way too many problems to name. This church was our blessing, it completely turned around our marriage which I think had a 99.9% chance of divorce! We felt like we had zero hope, my husband filed for divorce, we were living apart. Now two years later, we can't live without each other!!!!! If you are in a troubled marriage, DO NOT GIVE UP FOR ANY REASON, God can get it right and perfect for you. I am going to be critical of a few previous reviews. I found several reviews critical of the money that is requested. At no point are you asked to leave if you don't give money, nor will the doors ever be blocked if you don't give money. 10% is what the bible asks you to donate. I have never given 10% and the doors are still open to me 10 years later. If you are looking for a reason not to go to church you will find it. If you are looking for a wonderful caring pastor to guide your heart in Gods word, then you have found a home. Charles Nieman is the only pastor in 30 years that has been able to grasp and hold my interest in gods word. He is a blessing to me and that has allowed me to be a blessing to others. Last Sunday, the preacher said if you don't wish to give, then don't. His entire sermon was all about money. He said we don't need it, but if you read between then lines, that's what Abundant Living Faith Center is all about....money. He also bought up Joel Olsteen. He is all about money and this is it. They talk most about money. Last Sunday Shannon Nieman did not even preached because she almost lectured a college class about depression and anxiety. They do not use any Holy Bibles on hand. The people use their phones instead of a Bible. Also, the fog they use when they sing makes me sick and I can not see anything. This fog or smoke or air mist makes me extremely uncomfortable. Other than that the food pantry giveaway is good. But they are all about money. My experience with this church has been nothing short of incredible! Worship is amazing and you can feel the love the church goers have for God in their life. I am very hesitant to write this post, but feel something must be said. I have visited ALFC 4 or 5 times and left with concern. In a nutshell, I think their theology cuts corners and is geared for getting more members and more money. Yes, they do some good with money they give locally, but why are they NOT a member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability (ECFA)? I have seen no evidence their finances are transparent with their members (I hope I am wrong about that and would welcome correction). They have no Elder board to hold the pastor and staff accountable (at least none is shown on their website). Do they even have a once-a-year independent audit by a third party accounting firm? This appears to be nothing but a family business, with the kids taking over when Dad retires (an unhealthy thing to do in any business, much less a ministry). It is intimidating to see their tough looking security guys around the pastor and upfront at services. Is this really necessary? I never saw Jesus with security guys around him. What does this say about how the pastor views people: with love, or as a threat? The way they whip their audience into a frenzy to give before the offering is nothing short of manipulation. While I can't be critical of them sharing the Gospel at each service and doing an alter call, all of the above gives me doubt about their true motives. Are they doing this for personal gain, or are they really serious about building the Kingdom? If their finances were transparent, if they had an Elder board, if they were a member of ECFA, if they had a third party audit and I knew the pastor and his family were living sacrificially, I would not have doubts about their motives. Finally, this marketing phrase they use, "God is on your side" is not telling the whole story. Here is a question for their leadership, which apparently is only Charles Nieman and his two kids: Do you really think having 3 big church buildings and minting more consumer Sunday-only Christians is pleasing to God?
