Spike Sport Club got a major upgrade! I haven't been here in awhile because of covid, but it's nice…read moreto see Spikes moved from their old Gessner location to their Hillcroft location. Along with their move, came some much needed upgrades. 6+ volleyball courts, separating nets, gym, turf training area, concessions, restrooms, matted flooring, seating, etc. Everything is just so much nicer than their old location. I'd say the only downside is no AC other than fans for when it's hot. If it's cold, wear a long sleeve and you'll be fine. Open gym is every Tues, Thurs, and Sun I believe. It used to be $5/person, but now it's $10/person. But I honestly don't mind the small price increase if it means this place stays in business for years to come. Covid has affected many small businesses so please to everyone in the Houston volleyball community, support Spike Sport. You can also rent a private court depending on availability for $55/hr. I'll definitely be back here soon!

What an INCREDIBLE sports complex! We are spoiled to have this in Shadow Creek! (We have previously…read morevisited Dad's Club, which is ok but it's sometimes a pain to get there). This year we signed our kid up to play here for the convenience and we loved it! The fields were really nice. Sometimes the kids played on the softball fields which were real dirt and grass. Fields had bleachers and lights. The last game the kids played on the turf baseball field. These fields seemed really nice. (Though, I personally have never played on turf, let alone slid on a turf field). There are restroom facilities here, though, I never used them. It is kind of a hike to get to from the softball fields... closer for the baseball fields. There is also a playground and pavilion. On the far side of the complex off of Kingsley, there is an BRAND NEW all-inclusive playground. It's pretty amazing. There is a restroom and drinking fountain at this amenity too. My husband said he believes the enclosed baseball field next to the playground might be for deaf kids??? I can't confirm. There are also soccer fields here. My kids aren't into soccer yet so I can't say much about them. They do appear to be turf fields as well. Nonetheless, this complex is pretty awesome and I'm proud it's in our community.

May be good for pros, but it was lacking when it came to teaching beginners. When our 6 year old…read morewas enrolled, all that the instructor did was make him pick up the balls without any instructions on backhand or forehand practice. Moreover, children benefit when there is competition and there was not one single set played. There were a few intermittent sets played where the instructor was disinterestedly plopping balls to the bungling kids, but that was it. Maybe there is a one-on-one option that the club wants to entertain and so they do not provide as much for the group sessions, given that there are many good reviews. But like I specified earlier, this is for people who've learnt somewhere and not for beginners - at the very least, all the coaches for the beginners seemed more disinterested than interested in their teaching of the group classes.
