Do not trust this company. They do not honor the manufacturer's warranty. They told us that the "safety strap" must have fallen off, and we should have replaced it. Even tried to explain to us that it is like "driving a car with a flat tire and then trying to get the company to warranty the tire." Just in case we weren't smart enough to understand. The awning never had this "safety strap" when it was installed. But, it certainly isn't their fault, is it? read more

I live in Phoenix, Arizona and contacted Charles of Absolute Awnings through a Google search. I was attracted to them because they seemed to have the product that would fit my need, a rolling shutter over a window. Charles responded to my inquiry with an email that said they don't bait and switch, they don't expect to have any negotiating from me, as well as committing they could have the product delivered and installed in 10 days to 2 weeks. Charles was responsive by email but difficult to connect with by phone. Once I had agreed to the price estimate he gave me, his installer, Bear, came to our house and took measurements, etc. As a result of that visit, the price went up because of things Charles didn't foresee and include in his initial estimate. The next problem that arose was that I received an email from Charles saying that he had not received my 50% deposit check which I had mailed to the address on the invoice/contract. I learned later that Charles was located in Atlanta and using a local rental mailbox to make it appear that his was a local business. My bad for not having realized that earlier. Five weeks later Bear picked the product up at the freight yard and brought it to the house for what he estimated would be a 2-hour installation. Bear was unaware of a significant change that Charles and I had agreed to - and I had paid for. However, he adjusted and proceeded with the installation. About half way through what turned out to be a 4-hour process, Bear had to leave to go to Home Depot to get mounting hardware since none was included in the package with the product. Bear did a great job and was just at the mercy of the manufacturer and/or Charles. The good news is that we're very happy with the rolling shutter. It looks great and does exactly what we wanted it to do. I recommend great caution in doing business with this company. Charles and Elsa are nice enough but appear to be inexperienced at best. read more

The local contractor on my awning was rude and incompetent. I had to hire a separate contractor to repair the work he did after he and absolute awnings refused to repair a sagging awning. They claimed it was due to the condition of the wood. However, it turned out to be due to shoddy craftsmanship, e.g. Using wood screws to secure an awning instead of lag bolts, missing rafters entirely, failing to complete tighten the screws, etc. read more

Absolute Awnings did a nice job on installation of our roof mounted retractable awning. Charles, the owner was pleasant to deal with and was upfront on costs, which did not change from the time of signing the contract. Although the process took longer than usual due to Covid delays, Charles anticipated that would be the case and warned us it was possible. The awning is a very pretty pattern and we look forward to getting much needed shade from it in the future. read more

This is a review for my experience with Absolute Awnings Atlanta. I finally have my awning delivered and installed and paid for after 8-10 weeks from start to finish. The product is satisfactory but the customer service was highly lacking. Charles (the owner) was very professional when he came to my home for the initial measurements. However the installation and follow through could not have been worse. The product was delivered and installed by Ellis (Absolute Awnings Atlanta's contractor for the last 5 plus years). Ellis is capable however does not have the foresight to install the product. It took him about three trips to my home, first time since he didn't have enough manpower to hoist up the awning through the front of the house. Then the second time the installation took place but a piece of awning was broken while being hoisted up and taken apart. Then the piece had to be reordered which took another 2 weeks. For the final installation Ellis did not come prepared and had to get more equipment. The final straw was the remaining check which was given to Ellis. The check was never deposited. After two weeks I contacted Charles to see if they had received the check. Overall I would not recommend Absolute Awnings. They do not have the professionalism that is needed to run a business. Poor communication between the owner and the installer caused multiple delays in this installation. I hope that there is no further contact with this company in the future for any problems. read more

Absolute Awnings is a fantastic company. From start to finish everything went exactly as they said it would including the cost, installation, and operation of the awning. We love the awning! It has made such a difference in comfort and energy savings. The reduction in direct sunlight is also helping to save some of our furniture. Operation is easy. I'm a Professional Engineer and have managed numerous small to large construction projects. My experience with Absolute Awnings is one of the best experiences I've had. Mixed experience here in Houston. Also dealt with Charles, who, at first, was very responsive. Within days a local guy came out and helped me select the right awnings. I ordered two of them and within weeks they were installed with no problems. The awnings look great! So far so good. However, when it rained, I noticed one of the awnings was trapping water, which is draining from the side when it's extended. Not a biggie, but I'm concerned trapped water might degrade the edge of the fabric and develop mold and mildew. I contacted Charles and within a day he asked me to send a photo. Since it rained again the next day I was able to send him a video showing what was happening. After repeated attempts to contact him, however, Charles went MIA. Haven't heard from him since. I know he received the video because my file transfer service notified me when the file was downloaded. When I followed up again, I received notification the video was downloaded again (three times in all). Maybe he sent the link of my video to the local installer? Who knows. There has been no further response. It's really a shame the follow up has been so utterly disappointing. It's as if once the transaction and installation is complete, the customer is out of mind and ignored. Buyer beware. read more
