However since that day they have strung us along with timelines, promising us again and again that the estimate would be "done tomorrow", work will "start tomorrow", "I'll be out there tomorrow", etc this went on for weeks. I ask the office to send a English speaking employee but Noone showed up. They completed the job and took pictures. I was not happy with the work and asked for a forman to come check the work. Zero stars. We hired…read moreBowles to restore our house after it was damaged by Hurricane Helene because they had done some minor work for us years ago that was satisfactory. I don't know what happened in the ensuing years, but hiring them this time was a big mistake. The work was painfully sloooow (like a few hours, maybe a day, once every few weeks slow) and shoddy, every time. The owner and employees were rude, and didn't ask questions or listen to what we wanted, and made decisions about our home without consulting us, and we were living and working in the house the whole time, so we were always available to answer questions. Communication was terrible. All around awful. Bowles charged a fortune, then hired cheap, incompetent people. Not one job (roof repairs, drywall, door trim and crown molding, siding, subflooring, electrical, etc.) was done correctly or completely the first time, often not even the second time, slowing things down even further. The so- called project manager, Brent, never showed up to check on the work as it progressed. We finally fired them and decided we could do a better job and hire better people ourselves, and we did. Working with Bowles was a nightmare, especially since I was going through cancer treatment at the time. A group of rabid weasels could do better work than Bowles. Update 5/28/2026: We recently discovered a dangerous screw up that could have killed someone. During the windy storm last Friday, the chimney cap Bowles installed flew off, dinged the new roof and tore a hole in our temporary kitchen tent out back. Thank God no one was in it at the time! Turned out is was only attached to the chimney with 2 screws! Bowles is not only careless and incompetent; they are dangerously so. Beware.
