The driver Carlos was pleasant, on time, helped me with my bags and gave me a smooth ride to the airport. Thank you for a service! We will use you again. And as a side note, I saw the negative reviews about the previous owners. Although I never used them, I did try to make reservations but they didn't do 4am pickups. So they never got my business. Transportation on the cheap! We used SuperShuttle to get from Jacksonville International Airport to…read morethe Port of Jacksonville. Unfortunately, this business has somewhat of a pricing identity crisis - the website showed one estimate of $32, the dispatcher I spoke to on the phone quoted me $24 for four adults, but the driver charged me $40 (a flat $10 per person). For a trip of 11 miles, $40 was still pretty reasonable compared to if we had used a taxi service. Interestingly, the driver who picked us up wasn't driving a blue SuperShuttle at all, but a yellow Checker Cab minivan (that is, a taxi). I'm guessing that Checker Cab also contracts out to SuperShuttle. My other gripe is that the dispatcher told me the driver would call me, but didn't give me his ETA. I didn't get the call from the driver (I must've gone into the terminal momentarily, where reception is poor), and he didn't leave a voicemail. When I called dispatch back to find out where my driver was, I was simply told to go to Loading Zone 1, "Prearranged Transportation". I had to press the issue to find out that my driver was indeed already there (till then, I had no idea whether my driver was even en route). Apparently communication is not really SuperShuttle's strong point. Aside from that, the driver himself was friendly and knowledgeable, and the fare was reasonable. If you know what to expect and where to go, then the experience will probably be smooth for you. But if you're new to the area like I was, make sure you know exactly where your driver will be picking you up.

However, I had a…read morerecent trip where my wife, toddler, and cat were going to be out of town for a length of time, so instead of gambling on a rideshare showing up on time, I booked my first car service with Comfort Drive. Suffice to say, I was extremely pleased with the experience. When leaving Jacksonville, the driver showed up 10 minutes early in a Chevy Suburban and secured my son's car seat while we were gathering our bags. Our trip to the airport was very smooth, and of course, we were dropped off right at the gate, which is very important when you have two large bags, two backpacks, a car seat, a stroller, and a cat carrier. For our trip home from the airport, our driver was early and waiting for us by the time we arrived for our luggage. Even better, there were two cold bottles of water waiting for us in the Suburban, which was wonderful on a 90+ degree day. She drove us home without incident. Both of our drivers were friendly and professional, and the price for an SUV was a better value than any of the other car services I could find. I highly recommend Comfort Drive when you need a lift to or from the airport.
