Run by the same family for as long as I can remember and has undergone a few face lifts over that time, I still refer to it as Dr. Hunger and my dad still calls it the BarBQ.
I paid £13 for two large fish and chips with curry sauce and a can of lilt, which squeezes into good value for money cause the fish was huge and there was a mountain of chips. The family are always really friendly particularly the eldest guy who around Christmas was dishing out (and regularly sampling) free mulled wine.
I've been here hundreds of times and never been disappointed, the menu is what you would expect but always steaming hot and delicious. Just misses out on 5 stars as there isn't a wow factor but they definitely beat out the other take-aways as you continue into the town centre. read more
